In case anyone else is wondering, the coins aren't orange juicers or cowboy hats. :D They're boat-shaped gold ingots called sycee, Chinese symbols of prosperity.
Journey to the west is the origin story of Sun Wukong, who is a monkey on a flying cloud, who was also the inspiration for Son Doku :)

Can't say if you have read Journey To The West already, but in fact JTTW was much earlier than Dragonball series and Wu kong is nothing related with Doku.Hope u can figure out ;)

"Why is right to the west?"
Due to how CRT draws from top to bottom, directions are inverted. Therefore, north is down and west is to the right.

This was the guy's first hack. No way he woulda been able to do that. I'm an experienced rom hacker, and it took even me several days to get it to work at all
Kudos to Kosmic for changing characters so often for the sole purpose of giving us content. Yup. No other reason.

That's how I felt too. You had only 3 frames, though. It felt unusually long because you normally only get 1 or maybe 2 frames to walljump. A twentieth of a second is a luxury.
That was my first Romhack Wednesday I've ever managed to catch live, and that was honestly really cool! I was gamer_kun55567, btw. I hope I can catch more of these in the future!

Looks like absolutely every single graphic was changed except, sadly, the fireball -- maybe it's harder to make work with all the characters in this story's weapons being generally long, thin things like staves, spears and spades, but that would've been really cool. Still, a brand new SMB1 hack with all new graphics with a cool theme and actually playable for mere mortals (non-kaizo) is great to see.

I, for one, call bullshit on the romhack. If it were based on the original myth, you'd only play as Wukong and Sanzang would be kidnapped somewhere. Like, instead of Toad saying "the princess is in another castle", it would be Sanzang. Then he immediately gets kidnapped again before the next world starts.
Having four different characters immediately makes me think it would work better as a DDP /SMB2 romhack instead.
