    He was Henry Ford II. He NEVER was called Henry Ford Jr. In Detroit, he was known as Hank the Deuce.

    This was from a one hour documentary that Ford did around 1976 or 77. It was basically a reality show for its time, they showed his day-to-day activities, how he worked and how he operated the company. It was very interesting seeing him being driven around in the company cars and even getting on the company private jet. It would be great if CBC could post it and let us see it just even for a brief time.

    FYI - There was no such individual as Henry Ford Jr. The gentleman who is being interviewed in this video clip is Henry Ford II. He was the grandson of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford.The interview was recorded in 1978,approximately nine years before HF II passed away in 1987. By all accounts, the team that he hired upon taking over FoMoCo did a masterful job of turning the company's fortunes around. I believe he retired from an active role in Company management in 1982 when he turned 65 years old.That was the company's mandatory retirement age at the time.

    One of mistakes that Henry ford jr. did was making company public with stockholders and investors. Original Henry ford was against those things. Overall Henry ford jr is good man.

      And when he did make it public he raised something like 600+ million dollars for the company but the edsel lost something like half of that but it was a great business move but the edsel was just so far ahead of it's time it was a major flop but it couldve been a game changer if the public wouldnt have been scared of how different it was

      @@cameronvandygriff7048 it wasn't a game changer and that was the problem, it was a ford/mercury with different styling and gimmicky features that was released at a time of recession when they should've released a light efficient cheap compact car not just another oversized heavy barge

      He was basically an enforcer for Henry Ford. He and his men kept the workers in line with an iron fist.
      He was going to inherit the company but Henry ford's wife stopped it

    A year after he died, his second ex-wife Christina Ford wanted an additional $5.4 million in alimony. Her original settlement in 1980 gave her $100,000 every quarter until the year 2001 plus real estate, cash, investment accounts, and artwork.

    • @TheMrPeteChannel
      @TheMrPeteChannel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did she get the extra 5.4?

    • @RADIUMGLASS
      @RADIUMGLASS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheMrPeteChannel I don't believe so, she was out for good. His next and final wife Kathryn Duross was to receive $1 million a year for life for her inheritance when he died in 1987 and in 1988 she petitioned the administrators of the trust to pay her $10 million a year. The Admins did not fight her request and she got the $10 million a year until she died recently. Overall, she collected at least $300,000,000 after his death in 1987.
