I have been sewing for ages but some how missed that I had this foot in my collection! Thank you so much for showing me how to use my machine to its full potential. Love your videos! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I have had this foot for several years but forgot how to use it and over time, couldn't even figure out what it was for. Now I am ruffling, gathering everything! Perfect for my crafting.
Thank you! The Bernina video doesn't let you know that you need to adjust the "tension" on your machine to get a tighter ruffle! Great tip about using your using your finger tip to help get even tighter ruffles. If I just use this foot with normal tension on the longest stitch length I hardly get any ruffle at all.
sooo helpful! im about to purchase a bernette 35 and im so nervous about learning all of the feet and features. this made it seem so easy!! thank you for this super helpful video!
I have the original 830 model and this foot also. I tried to make this work also and finally just quit. But you've really made it come to life for me. Thank you. HowEVER, I think there is a huge flaw or downside to it. When you're using a pattern there's no way of telling what the settings need to be to make the two pieces of fabric fit together. Like you said you need to try it a time or two to see what you have to do to make it fit. I'd rather use the button foot and fishing line:)
Thank you soo much for this tutorial! I am sorry I didn't find it before I made my granddaughters' Easter dresses! I have had this foot so long I forgot what it was! I never really learned how to use it and gave up on my first attempt. ERR! All these years I have been gathering by hand! In retrospect, I think the girls' dresses probably needed a ruffler foot, since I gathered three layers of fabric together. Going shopping now and counting on youtube to have a tutorial on that one too! ;)
I am still a tiny little bit unsure. How can I figure out the amazing of shrinkage in advance and can you still move the gather like with a tradition gathering stitch ? Sorry for all the questions.
Dear Heirloom Creations... Thank you for this video, but I have a Bernina Aurora 450, and this video does not show what settings to use. I put the foot on the machine and it does not gather at all. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm not sure what my issue is but for some reason, I can't get my material to gather. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've checked followed the directions that came with my foot. I have the Virtuosa 150.

I have always hated to gather, but this is fantastic!
You are welcome! Glad we could help for future project. ~Sara~
Thank-you so much! I also have this foot; but, of course, I no longer had any idea how to use it!
Thanks Sarah....this is great!
SundaeJuly how can we get this tools.
How can you do this on stretchy fabric? What stitch setting can you use?

Sorry for all the questions.
I noticed that your feed dogs are lowered. Is this a necessary step for using the #16 presser foot? (I have an Aurora 440QE).
