This is exactly what I need for the 1950s vintage skirts and dresses that I make all the time and have over 2 metres of fabric gathered or pleated into the waist. I don't know why I didn't know about this foot!

Oh my goodness. I've been making metres and metres of ruffles by hand! I didn't know there was something like this! I think I need a new machine and a ruffler foot, my work will take half the time.

There is a Brother-compatible ruffler attachment available on amazon for a very reasonable price and it works great.

@KOEKOEWITHASMILE The Bernina Ruffler will not fit on a Brother machine but most machine manufactures make a ruffler foot.
Brother has their own ruffler foot. I have one and it works well.l

Hi there, I’ve been using the ruffled for for years . I have never been able to actually go straight. I mange your in the end but is there a way to guide the fabric through so you know it’s going to be e an even seam line ? I can’t trust it to be an even seam line right now so I hand join ruffles to top fabric. It’s frustrating because I know it can be done :) is there a guide to ensure this? Neither of my ruffles feet came with instructions. Both are berninas…
What about the icon, vintage 830 model? Please tell me there's one for me. I got my machine 35 years ago and it's in great shape. I don't want a new machine. I still love it just like the first day I used it. What do you think?

Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. I have Berninas old 830 and 1230. Will the same info apply to the ruffler for those machines? And, is it possible to ruffle the folded in half piece straight onto a base piece - just as you demonstrate for a single piece with the already hemmed piece?Thanks again

Oooh... mine doesn't pleat as neatly as yours, it acts more like shirring foot, no uniformed pleats
make sure it is not a generic bernina ruffler. Your local bernina store can help

I was using a Bernina 630 in this video. This ruffler will work on any Bernina.Sorry, I don't remember the stitches per minute on this older model. ~Sara~

@missnoorulain1… I'm not from Heirloom Creations and I know you didn't ask my opinion, but if you have the money, I never buy anything but a Bernina. Mine is 35+ years old and I can still get almost as much money out of it as I paid for it then…a pricey $750.00. There's nothing better

With every video I watch on how to use the ruffles attachment they never tell you how to figure out how many raffles to take per inch so the top and bottom fabric meet at the end. And this video is no different it doesn’t tell you either so frustrating.
