  • Terry here from TRLtouring currently travelling Australia in our Y62 patrol and Kokoda Caravan. Our previously installed cheap cat back mild steel exhaust system kept failing at the welds on us so we have replaced it with a Torqit 3inch cat back system and install a Torqit throttle controller.
    I pull the old system out and place it next to the Torqit and compare the 2 before installing the Torqit exhaust and throttle controller and going for a test drive.

    Just fitted my Torqit to a brand new Y62. Lining up that pipe from the left cat to the hotdog was a challenge like yours was. Two people makes it easier, a lot of pushing, twist and muscle. But got it and the rest was really easy. First start brings a ‘wow’ to your day. Love it. Seems to have more go and a great non drone\ing but deep V8 sound.

      Yeah it’s pretty good eh. There was lots of swearing and frustration doing it by myself. Extra set of hands would have been awesome but made do and got there in the end.

    I'm actually fitting mine in now
    2 week old car and got frustrated cos I couldn't get the bend pipe in. Thought I'll do a bit of research before I force it in but I'll have to after seeing your struggle and the comments. Looking forward to hearing it

      Thanks Joe yeah what a mission! Wish I had a hoist. It was tight and tricky but managed to shoe horn it in there! Thanks mate.

    I'd have offered to help a couple of times, but then I had to remind myself that I'm here, just for moral support 😏👍.
    Terry, you and your family have a gutsy can do attitude, right on 👍. Glad to see you back, was a little worried.

    How did you go with towing the van ? Sound better than other one ? Drone ?

    • @trltouring43
      @trltouring43  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So there is drone, only at particular speeds and load. It can be eliminated by changing down a gear or adjusting the speed. Its only droney when it gets into 7 which is actually quite rare as we are lugging 3.3T. It doesn’t bother us now and we are used to it. Cheers mate.

      @@trltouring43 Nice we only get a bit at 80kph towing 3.2 . Just wanted to see if yours was any different. And agree hardly see 7th gear.
