Changing the battery in a F45 BMW 2-Series Active Tourer?
This simple step by step guide shows you what is involved.
Note: I replaced the heaver and more expensive AGM battery for a non-AGM, as Start/Stop is disabled, so the car didn't need the AGM type battery. The Bosch battery is actually a higher Ampere Hour and Cold Cranking Amperage than the original battery, so it will be fine in the cold weather.
Note: Once a battery has been changed, you need to inform the ECU by coding it using a tool like Bimmercode. In this case, I changed the battery type from AGM to non-AGM so the charging profile was appropriate for the non-AGM battery.
