However, i've found that there are few or less "official versions" of the song played by the band itself. Could you make a whole playthrough of the song? I think the intro has a bit of alternate picking? and the solos at the end were so good.

You nailed it and I am SURE made Randy Proud! Do you think maybe down the road you could dissect some of your take on Mr. Crowley?

this technique is called "enclosure" in Jazz, and used A LOT especially in gypsy jazz. BTW, this is also how Marty Friedman usually approaches a target note, bending from a half-step below. He explained it 25 years ago in his Melodic Control DVD ;)
The Marty Friedman solo that immediately came to my mind was Lucretia because it opens up with an appoggiatura. The Symphony solo part was very subtle though. Thank you for the explanation. I don't think anyone could explain this concept this well in 7 minutes.

Practice in a speed you can play it perfectly and slowly increase the speed. (With a metronome it would be ideal, but drum loops are great as well)
string skipping helps to sync hands a lot
