One thing I've learned with logic board repair is that everything seems to be based around logic and common sense. I think you have done a fantastic job just demonstrating the basic fundamentals of using a multimeter and logic to find the fault and fix it. I like to look at it like a puzzle if that makes sense. Also at 37:55 I just recently thought of that same solution when I was having the same issue with my jumper wire not sitting flat. Solid repair video, very informative.
Phone is broken and I’ve replaced the parts… do you have a series for beginners to kind of work your way up to learn the soldering skills needed for this repair? I’ve got myself a new phone so this is just me hoping to learn for fun. Great video!

Hi Jesse just Done one but instead of find the trace I ran a wire from pin 13 on charging port to pin 3 on power flex. It fixes the issue without giving any problem. Just to keep in mind if you guys don't want to do all the trace findings.
Hi, mate. Thank you for this massively useful content I have a question. This was the only solution to this case? Because I have this same issue on my workshop.
Yes, why not run the Jumper to J4300(?) vs remove the cover over the other chip. Would seem (to me) a lot safer) than peeling away to expose a trace. Any downside to doing this? As an aside, I remember when my eyesight and muscles allowed me to do the kind of work you do. Nice!!!
I would say the effort to get the jumper wire to make it all the way to the power button connector is way more than scratching out the trace. Plus it would be a lot safer like this vs a super long jumper, in that the next time someone opens the phone, they may damage the wire & have to re-do the super long jumper again
I would like to ask you a question, on my dock flex connector pin 15 which should have the value 672, according to xzw, I read a value of 345, and the latter is the same value that I have along the tracing, and also on pin 5 of the power button. Where do you think the problem could be? Thank you.
