We are looking at the same route but have the same reservations possibly via Armenia and Azerbaijan (once the border reopens to travellers), crossing the Caspian Sea. As you say it’s a bit unreliable but it is doable. In the meantime we will head to Albania and Turkey this autumn.

Thanks for sharing the update. May I recommend if you do these types or similar videos set up 2-4 camera positions to film from. Even if one is your main camera and the others are your phones.
Then you can change the view points/ angles . It will help keep viewers engaged in watching. Also add some b-roll of footage from the trip or news photos.
It takes a bit more planning & editing but will bring your content to the next level.
I run 5 channels getting to the first 1k 5k 10k are the hardest but it very doable.

If your funds allow it it might be worth it to travel through the US by buying an old jeep or van. Convert it along the way. Big overland expos coming up.

That’s lucky! We’ve certainly heard it’s possible, but very much up to the border guard at the day your cross and no given that a right hand drive will be allowed to enter since officially it is not allowed. For us personally it was not worth the costs and risk of being denied entry to try to go on this trip - hopefully on another occasion we’ll make it work!
