As much as generally I’m not a fan of Boone and his decisions (well who knows when those decisions really are even his) but I do give him credit for his coming on jomboy for these interviews and letting us see he is not the guy in those pressers (thank goodness). Jake and Jim do fantastic work so that their passion for the yanks comes out but does not spoil their pipeline to Boone and the team. Somehow they also avoid simply lobbing him the stupid and easy questions that everyone else seems to. For real fans of yanks and really baseball it is a win win!

I respect the hell out of Boone; the ending of this one showed the humanity, your tired he’s tired we’re all tired but he still shows up smiles and projects hope to the fans which is about all he can do given the situation(and what cashman has done to this team). I personally think that the answers Boone gives during these and interviews are good! We may not enjoy the answers he gives as they sound fake but he has to say the positive and right answers because he is sticking up for his players mistakes. I believe this because if he gives real answers (calling his players out for mistakes) none of his players will want to play for him and may play worse. I do believe that he talks with his players behind the scenes about their mistakes privately but publicly he has to say the right things for his players to respect him.

I'm not a Yankees fan (in fact the opposite is the case) but I respect Aaron Boone for how he confronted the ump who has what is provable the worst technique for calling balls and strikes accurately. I also like how he tried to walk the line with jomboy between owning how he acted and wanting to move on with his relationship with the ump.

Who on the team do you think had any real trade value? Torres and Bader? You're not getting major prospects for either one. Rizzo, DJ, Stanton...multi year high salaried players; not going anywhere. Higashioka...maybe a low level average rookie leaguer. Sevy...no value. Cortes....he was hurt. He don't even have a true closer so no one there has high trade value. So it's easy to say they should have gotten a bunch of prospects, but they simply don't have players than anybody else wants.

If he had a second head injury while still suffering from the concussion, it could have been really bad. A concussion is a mild brain injury. That isn't to be taken lightly. I'd also like to know if maybe they have a sign for Stanton for "go home only if you make the turn well" so he can decide to hold up without having to put on the hard breaks and knows only to run home if he can ACTUALLY run..
