    I bought a Sterling Cutlas late last year. The store had no idea what it was or how much they should charge. This was no Mom and Pop store. It had no Tremelo arm the five-way switch was used for pealing lemons, the pots ALL had to be replace. I made an offer they took it and I went home. After two weeks of making this playable and Sound much better, I felt confident it would gig just fine.. I know it did NOT leave the factory this way.
    Haven't gigged with it yet. There's no rush.

      기타 만들기도 시간이 꽤 걸리지만 영상까지 같이 찍으며 만드는 건 시간이 더 걸립니다. 그래서 영상을 자주 올리진 못해요.

    I saw you do a few things in the woodwork part of this video that made me go, damn, that's absolutely bonkers! How you bend the rosewood headplate and blended that with the fretboard, very nice. The fretboard binding is beautiful too. Few points I'd like to suggest for a future iteration of this build:
    * no string trees but staggered tuners.
    * different kind of finish, one that can be sanded flat and buffed to a high gloss.
    I guess that's preference and not criticism. Well done!

    • @sixircleguitar7664
      @sixircleguitar7664  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the video, Bending the rose wood is only a few seconds.
      Actually It took many times! Heat and bend a little, heat and bend a little........ maybe It took 3~4 hours.
      Bending Iron in the video is too short so I could not use it when I bended rosewood plate. If I had a long one, I'd bend it easily in just a few minutes.
      I'm gonna take a video of Bending rosewood plate with the fret board in next video.
      * the string tree on this guitar is just for decoration, but I'm gonna use staggered tuners next time like you said.
      * yes, you're right. This guitar was finished with Polymerized tung oil only, but it's better that front head & body is gloss and back head & body is flat or vice versa.

      나무 구성과 배치까지 이해하시니 제가 오히려 감동이네요.
      이 나무는 소리 특성이 어떻고 저 나무는 어떻고… 이런 거 다 무시하고 일단 최대한 분위기 있게 보이도록 나무 선택과 배치를 했습니다.
      사용된 나무들이 모두 음향목이라 누가 만들어도 이 구성이면 기본 소리특성은 좋을겁니다.

      @@sixircleguitar7664 특히 넥 더블바인딩 순간과 로즈우드탑, 바디 웬지우드탑 순간엔 소름이 돋았어요~!

    Very beautiful, wonderful craftsmanship... And, yet, all that cheap, potmetal, dime-a-dozzen hardware and electronics goes back into it. It's like putting a Ford, 4-cylinder engine into a Land Rover or Ferrari! Masterful work on the body and neck though, envious of you talent and skill.

      일반적으로 기름에 18개월 이상 담가놓으라고 하더라구요.
      근데 몇 개월 정도만 담가도 충분하더군요. 기름은 대개 레몬 오일을 많이 사용하는데 이 기타에 사용한 기름은 올리브 기름이에요.
      부엌 찬장 안에 올리브 기름이 있길래 걍 그 속에 넣어뒀어요. ㅎㅎ
      제 생각에 기름이면 다 괜찮을 것 같습니다. 들기름, 콩기름, 참기름, 식용유 등등.

      @@sixircleguitar7664 thank you for the honor of your time and advice. TH-cam has been extremely helpful. I wanted to learn through discipline and perseverance, rather than convenience. So I started by going to a lumber yard and selecting two slabs that could make up to seven bodies. That way, I had numerous opportunities to make mistakes.
      I hand-carved the first two bodies with a couple of chisels. Then moved on to learning more tools. Then power tools. Along the way, I have messed up everything you can imagine, learning patience, discipline and respect for the process... and I've never had so much fun.
      The necks were already assembled, with paddle headstocks to carve down, so that's my next process to learn, after paint and finish. Then fretting and wiring. I am a graphic designer by trade (25 years) so people have continually said that the original design and logo look good... but there are a hundred other little things that can go wrong, as you know.
      I am now completely addicted to learning and constant improvement. Thank you, so much, for the advice on another content creator... and thank you for sharing your art.

      I learned all guitar making skills in TH-cam. You can find videos you need if you have passion.
      Guitar making consists of 90% wood working and 10% of other skill.
      learn basic wood working skill first and once you’ve mastered some wood working skills, guitar making is easy.
      Also wood working skill is in TH-cam.

      @sixircleguitar7664  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in the East Japanese wood working skill and tools are common.
      But when it come to wood plane, western style plane is recommanded.
      Japanese style plane is specialized in soft wood but western's is specialized in hard wood.
      most woods in electric guitar are made with hard wood, so western style plane is optimised for electric guitar.
