Great video! It's so hard to time the right set at the right time. I paid over $6 each for sleeved Darkness Ablaze and Vivid Voltage packs back when the sets were the hottest products. Now people get mad when they get those packs in a box set and will barely pay $2.50 for them. Thank goodness I only bought a couple art sets of each and of course a few ET'B's to put away. It will probably take another 5 years before I can even get my money back on those sealed products. Even better, way back in the day I remember shopping for the newest Pokemon cards and passing up sealed Team Up ETB's sitting on the shelf because I had already opened one and didn't get a hit, and that they were everywhere sitting on shelves. When the Tag Team GX tins came out I bought one of each for investment, but that was it (but I'm still very thankful that I picked them up as they are about $90 already). This was way before I started investing in sealed cases (which is definitely the way to maximize your profits). So now I only buy brand new product when it first comes out when we are going to open it immediately or give it for Christmas presents. (like all the 151 I had to buy at 25% off retail). Just wait on this stuff to flood the market before you invest. Now I buy sealed cases a year or two after release or wait for auctions of bulk sealed loose blisters. The only product I missed out on using this logic is the Celebrations UPC. Even the Arceus and Charizard UPC's made it down to $75 (just like the 151 UPC will be eventually). Evolving skies never got cheap either but you could buy sleeved packs for $4 for the longest time. Over the last year I've been able to buy a lot of sealed product, even as old as Fusion Strike, for around $2.50 per pack on various websites. It does take time and you really have to check for deals every night but it can be worth it if you want the best return on investment.

I think he is referring to bulk in your collection that is just in storage. Like if you buy a card ten times, just sell 9 with (little) profit so you can get a power selling account.
With sealed, most people buy cases. 10 etbs, he is saying: don't wait for the price to go sky high. Because the time it is in your storage collection, its also taking place/time/money. By selling them directly with a little profit, you keep movement in your collection but also to create a power selling account. Cos that will take the most time.
Thanks, mate! That's it, as @jeffreenl said, even if you're just selling cheap singles or your bulk off, it can be an easy way to start building up your selling profile. And as that happens, eBay will lift your amount of listing's you can have, all helping down the track if you wanted to offload multiple big ticket items! 👌

The Inteleon theme decks were very playable at one point ,I was getting them at 7$ each, after selling the singles I was able to make 15$ profit off each deck.
A flip isn’t the same an an investment
Yeah flips are different. You can flip products for quick cash. But doesn’t mean that’s a good long term investment.
I wasn't saying they were "Investible" lol just saying when you have Distro and get stuck with weak products you can break them down ,not saying to dive into these things lol

I purchased a sealed booster case of 151 Japanese for $2900 through market place a few weeks ago and now I can’t find one anywhere for less then $4000.
All over ebay for 3k

Hopefully there’s another reprint. I was able to snag a sealed Japanese case of 151 for $1850 a couple of months ago.

What’s your thoughts on graded cards? Compared to sealed products? Good investment or too risky to go for single graded cards
I just like the fact, that if you're buying sealed boosters at or below msrp, you can enjoy the ride up. Singles remind me a lot of the share market, where it's more of a roller coaster.

What website do you suggest using to track prices? Other problem i have, i live in South Africa, so products for example, a booster box, retails for 130$ at release... if the price drops to 90$, retailers are still selling them at 130$ ...
I use the collectr app but checking sold listing's on ebay always helps 👌

Both are good. Tcg for bulk singles. Ebay for bigger ticket items

Do you still recommend JP 151 as a strong buy at 200 US? Kicking myself for not getting in at 130, 140 a box and remembering how i managed to nap eevee heroes for under 200 a few months before it doubled from that.
Oh mate, it's so hard. If it gets reprinted prices will dip but if it doesn't, you'll kick yourself for not getting in at current price point.

A little late question regarding those 'Theme Boxes' (like the Intelleon one) - I usually only buy them at a discount and open them with the kids. But a short time ago, I found a 'mispackaged' Pikachu V/VMAX box (it had 2 VMAXES instead of 1:1). I bought it just because I found this to be a curiosity. ;)
My question: Is this something that climbs in price? Or doesn't this matter at all?

Theme decks I never pick up but do make a point of keeping a sealed world championship deck or two. Love the difference in back art. 2023 London mew VMAX 'shape of mew' box was beautiful

2. How many of said product was bought in the last 30 days?
3. How many are available at that market price?
4. How missed will it be in the future aka evolutions or Team up?
5. Do I love the set?
If all hit yes I buy what I can afford

Found some products still contain them and are as low as £15 the packs are £9 .
Other than that im thinking of moving into just picking up 3 pack blisters easy to store cheap to buy and maybe can get 10 per month moving forward.

so would promo boxes like the Zoroark Promo box with ES packs inside would these be considered bad investments? What if you got them for under MSRP?
Pack selection is definitely a big factor. But compare that to the Eeveelutions box with all the eeveelutions!
The few times I have purchased really weird lesser liked and popular sets I only did it if it was on a crazy clearance or sale and I would do the math if I can get the packs inside for $3 a pack or lower and that way if the box doesn't sell later I can just open it and want those individual packs go up in value I can just sell them by the individual pack however I would never buy a case of anything like that I would maybe just buy one unless the packs inside came out to me and fifty cents each then I might bulk buy and with the intent for just the packs but I would also consider what packs are inside
Yeah, sometimes the dollar per pack average definitely makes it worth it, man!

151 is getting reprinted price has dropped from Japanese resellers accros the board on order to flog as much as possible before it drops over the past week or 2

Learnt lesson 1 the hard way! Shaymin vstar collection box. Thankfully, I only purchased 1. There are some great packs in there, but who cares for Shaymin, really?....Paldean Fates Charizard tins are on my list for next year.

Now is the time to sell JP 151 with such a price increase over the last 3 months. Reprints have been confirmed on in Japan and Sellers are just trying to squeeze out what they can. I know suppliers that are reducing their prices and confirmed reprints. It may not drop the price ALOT but surely they will go back to $150 for a nice dip. Sold all mine at 195 USD and waiting on reprints.
