Thanks for this upload. I used to have this episode and two others on tape from when she was on Austin City Limits. Incidentally this song did make it to Number 1 on either Radio and Records of the Gavin report. Possibly both. Just missed out on Billboard. I still love her very much. I loved Lari White even more. Both were treated very badly by the industry which broke my heart. They were just two unbelievable talents and should have been much bigger Stars than they were.
My love for country started with this song and Holly Dunn. My wife and I were lucky enough to see her in concert a couple of times. What an amazing voice. RIP Holly.
On this day in 1987 {July 19th} "Love Someone Like Me" by Holly Dunn peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles* chart, for its 1st week at #2, the #1 record for that week was "The Weekend" by Steve Wariner, and for its second week at #2, "Snap Your Fingers" by Ronnie Milsap was in the top spot... "Love Someone Like Me" also reached #2 on the Canadian RPM Country Singles chart... Between 1985 and 1995 Holly Dunn had twenty-two records on the Hot Country Singles chart, nine made the Top 10 with two reaching #1, "Are You Ever Gonna Love Me" for one week in August of 1989 and "You Really Had Me Going" for one week in November of 1990... Two of her twenty-two charted records were duets, one with Michael Martin Murphey, "A Face In The Crowd" {#4 in 1987}, and the other with Kenny Rogers, "Maybe" {#25 in 1990}... Sadly, Holly Suzette Dunn passed away at the young age of 59 on November 14th, 2016 {ovarian cancer}... May she R.I.P. * And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Hot Country Singles' Top 10 on July 19th, 1987: At #3. "Snap Your Fingers" by Ronnie Milsap #4.
