Good to see the reunion of the best coaching duo on the internet.
I hope you guys you could start preparing videos focused on advancing play levels for intermediates (NRTP 3.5).
I see a real gap in that coaching since online coaches focus on either:
    * total beginners (how to serve, continental grip, etc.)
    * pro level players (imitate top ATP techniques)
We need more videos like this and tailored for intermediates.

I am the crippled punisher/dominator with outstanding ability to mess up the incoming defensive moon balls, slices and short nothing balls :) So way too often I just punish myself when I hit a great shot and have to play that one more awkward defensive ball…

I like the idea of starting out as the wall for a few games and then switching to the finisher/dominator for the rest of the match... going back to wall if I make too many errors. I guess that means tactician overall?

Hi Simon and Alex, what a great video and well explained ,I have played all those ways to win matches and we all have a favourite style,. Also depends on conditions, ie Court surface, weather, etc. My coach s first rule was attack when you can, defend when you have too,and
.no free points! Play to strengths ! Keep up the good work, will use this with my players on the rock ! Would be good to do a video re doubles roles and responsibilities, like your singles video above ! Ian From Jersey on the rock !

Good video! weeks ago I thought on describing myself and decided I was a Punisher, I thought I´d come up with the term tennis wise but it seems not! 😂
Who are the greatest all time examples, in your opinion, of each of these styles? Mine would be:
    - Punisher: Djokovic, Nadal (not looking to start a controversy here!)
    - Dominator: Federer, Serena
    - Attacker... Sampras?
    - Tactitian... Murray? Graf?
    - Wall? I can only think of Wozniacki, was Borg in this category?

    • @Macgonagle76

    • @elchanclascocina

@@Macgonagle76 Hewitt and Chang!! definitely! Can't believe I didn't think of them. I don't intially see Ruud as a wall, I think first of De Minaur, of Tommy Paul as such (I didn't mention them because I was thinking of al time greats)... but yeah, thinking about Ruud, I guess he'd be either a wall or a punisher. Saludos ✌️

Re. The wall. I played a solid wall in a competion last year with this strategy. Each game involved pretty intense rallies lasting 20 to 30 shots on the majority of points. I usually outlast my opponents but that was the first time I've ever played tennis to near complete exhaustion. I lost (cracked) in the end by attempting to finish points early with decisive winners - unwise idea...should have dug deeper and stayed on strategy.

For me, the tactician seems to be the best strategy in theory because you adapt every single shot to your opponent. In contrary, this acquires all skills of tennis which are out there and of course a lot of intelligence of the game. So for me, I am a tactician but not able to ececute it on the court because of my lacking skills :D

  • @patrickweston3293
    @patrickweston3293 ปีที่แล้ว

Tactitian. Anxiety and anger at myself during matches are my biggest flaws. If I stay focused on my "plan" for every point, less of my attention is on my physical and technical shortcomings - save that for practice!
    Great lesson, guys!

  • @watcher687

Body tracking camera gadgets may look cool initially but it’s actually quite annoying for watching tennis because focusing on the player only is first of all a dizzying effect for the viewer and also you miss the other side of the court and even where the shot goes sometimes because of that tracking one player strictly.
