The butterfly at 5:22 is phenomenal symbolism, the butterfly appearing to the protagonists in all Persona games indicates the opportunity to overcome their current situation, so the fact that it’s leaving symbolizes that there’s no overcoming this fate for the protagonist
I was sobbing so hard last night when this scene came on. what really got me the most was the way our social links would be talking about the future together and noticing how tired he was.... when koromaru whined sadly for me and the dialogue options showed up I lost it. I had to cover my mouth with a towel so I didn't sob too loud since my roommates were studying LMAO they were like "bruh wtf are you okay"
It's sad that they'll never see him again, and some of his friend probably don't know that Makoto already passed away (Bebe, Hayase, the Priest,Maiko,etc).
@@Squeezy6 YES THAT LITERALLY MESSED ME UP TOOOO unfortunately I couldn't finish five social links (three of the main girls whoops) but I can't imagine how bebe must feel he was his only friend and he never got his solution to stay in Japan for my playthrough :(

I like how in the credits, Makoto is falling into a deep sea at the beginning it was with a lot of light and ends in the abyss without light, the fact is that he is descending and the credits are rising and people more important to him are living their lives while Makoto falls.
I really didn't expect to be crying my eyes out today, and I have you to blame for it. I beat Persona 3 for the first time a week ago and when I got here I was sobbing so hard. Literally saying over and over "This isn't fair." This ending broke me so hard, I just have no way of really expressing how.
I only played portable before so when i finished reload last night i was blown away by how beautiful this ending was visually and aigis's dialogue moved me to tears.
i JUST beat the game (and i was hoping to do it yesterday but i didn't have enough time to do so) but holy shit i spent so long crying during and after the credits. this scene was pretty sad in original/fes/portable but they made it so much more impactful for reload
Saddest part for me is thinking that i said to Koromaru that he could stay with me once Nyx is defeated. My boy lost two dear friends. His former owner first, then he lost Makoto.
