Taking selfies and joking about dying while literally coughing up blood, in true millennial fashion
thesiiiiickest HAHAHA
1000nd like!
Most definitely!
He had a fashionable entrance...
That's what i'm thinking
If you cough up blood because your throat is scratched up it's one thing but if it's from your lungs and your doctors are sending you home y'all have terrible doctors
patrick maloney I once threw up blood. When I went to the doctor they looked at my mouth and touched my belly and that’s it. No tests or anything. They sent me home saying I just had a scratch in my throat.
I had a stomach ulcer. No one though about it cause I was only 18 (I was really freaking stressed at that time).
Took them like 4 days to figure out I wasn’t ok
Welcome to NY
MsPachecoSpeaks Lol it’s everywhere. Doctors are JUST like this in Canada too, I could go in with a pencil sticking out of my eye and my doctor would treat me like an idiot tell me he sees nothing wrong and to drink more water
Americans
patrick maloney tubercolis
He needs to sue for medical malpractice.
FierySnow1 my exact thoughts! Can’t believe the CDC would watch him and not take those precious doctors to court or at the least revoke their license to practice.
My mom should’ve but didn’t she almost died from that hospital she went to
@@a.9524 It's the lack of practice that he should sue for. He had a condition that was ignored. Even if they are clueless to what it is, he should've been cared for.
FierySnow1 I would do that because tuberculosis isn’t normal anymore
FierySnow1 plus the tests was negative until that one time
"I almost died from a cough" in 2019: "Wow! That's crazy!"

Wow.... just coughing up tuberculosis all over New York, giving it to everyone cuz 3 doctors can’t do their due diligence.
Death is everywhere... Just get used to it...
@Angel The doctor did not do a proper job partly because it not a disease they are not used to treating. TB - can and should be treated with medication if the sign & symptom indicate tuberculosis.
North American doctors are not used to TB cases
@@campkira you're a sadist
@@winw4548 you're not a doctor, your don't know what they had to do
The fact that they kept sending him home, not retesting him, imagine how many people are exposed to it.
I feel so sorry for him like honestly. He suffered for so long before being taken seriously
My mother almost died from a blood clot in her lung. The doctor told her it was just “anxiety” or “period cramps” and were trying to send her home. My dad has to literally grab the doctor by the collar and physically threaten him before he called for any tests. My mother ended up losing half her lung, and has to be on multiple medications for life, all because the doctor spend over an hour trying to convince my mom she was fine
@@IAmNotYourProblem Oof, sorry to hear that. Hope your mom is coping alright.
Imagine what if he or she is black, most doc may not take them serious.

Coughing up blood is NOT OK!! It is an emergency!
You can cough up blood and it may not be an emergency. All based on Dr history taking and differential diagnosis.
@@winw4548 coughing up blood is always an emergency except if it's phlegm, then you're just sick
@@Jordan_Dossou Depends. If due to ulcer and no significant HB drop. It is not an emergency. Sometime it just would or ulceration. An emergency would be coffee ground stool that usually indicate UGIB. Coughing blood can be because of many reason but not all are emergency.

@@carolinegerlach1644, I hope you aren't a nurse. It shows more than just the rate, if you can interpret an ECG.

If you don't want to wait you can still go to a private hospital and pay the same bills as in the US. It's not like you're forced to only use the free healthcare system.

As a respiratory therapist student the fact that they sent u home so many times while u were coughing up blood is terrifying
Could have just gone with tuberculosis instead of “flesh eating bacteria” in the title, but ok
At first it was "I almost died because of coughing "
It looks like we need a better, more effective way to detect tuberculosis at at earlier stage.
boy638 They’ve certainly tried but Mycobacterium tuberculosis (the bacteria that causes it) is not like other bacteria and can’t easily be cultured so testing for it can be harder to do. Of course that’s one of the many reasons why it’s so dangerous
@@rebeccalynn3716 Shame then, it almost sounds like we can only detect it when it's almost too late. Dangerous indeed.
The first time he went to the ER the basic questions they asked should have raised a reg flag. He spent time outside of the US and is coughing up blood? IMMEDIATELY screen for TB. I feel so bad for this guy and I'm glad he's still alive.
Anna Reese it said in the video they tested for it and it came back negative. That’s bc TB is difficult to test for. However, someone coughing up blood is never a casual affair and should have been taken more seriously than how it was described here. It is a sign of a number of complications even if it wasn’t TB.

I'm from South Africa. TB is a big problem here, so I think you would have been helped almost immediately over here. It is possible that American doctors are not as familiar with the symptoms of tb as they are here. Also, the representative who came to witness you take your meds is necessary, as defaulting can make you succeptable to Multi-drug resistant tb, which cannot be treated as effectively and risks you infecting others.

I can relate so much! For a long time I was really sick and nobody took me seriously. Finally, when the doctors suspected leukemia, they were still very unhelpful. He honestly should sue some of his docs for malpractice! They should’ve given a test gauntlet for this because coughing up blood regularly is always bad! Hell doing it in general is bad! This immediately implies something is wrong in the respiratory &/or gastric system! Both extremely integral parts of your body! Those doctors who sent you away were extremely negligent and should feel bad for holding off doing tests and potentially starting a new TB epidemic!

Omg. Great thing you’re ok! If I would have seen you/someone coughing up blood anywhere I would have helped! That’s just the right thing to do....make sure your fellow human being is ok and safe....especially when they could possibly be dying.
