Thank you for the review - I really wanted to love the Bose QC Ultra's but there's been several gripes I've found after 1 week: Bluetooth pairing to another device from your windows pc will create a frequent call request to your PC machine that does weird things like constantly pause your videos or livestreams. If you wear glasses, a quick headshake or movement, also pauses whatever media is playing. Lastly, the ANC battery life has been shorter in my experience. I work a full 8 hrs through several hours of meetings then use them for a couple of hours of gaming. I'm generally usually between 30-40% by the end of day - creating a bit of anxiety for next day's use. I'm going to try the AirMax's after watching this review.
i honestly can’t decide if i should get bose qc ultra or airpods max and sony xm5 if not those too maybe if the airpods max 2 come same with sony xm6 if they i should just wait or just pick theses out i have no idea
Having all three, your review is almost 💯 accurate. My only qualifier, based on personal preference, is that the AirPod Max have been the most comfortable for long listening periods.
Having owned both bose and the Airmax's, I disagree completely. The Airmax's are EXTREMELY tighter when compared to the Bose. Infact, I'm 100% returning mine after this week. They're WAY TOO TIGHT and I like to think I've got a normal sized nogging. Again, for glass wearing folks, these things are clingier than that ex you once knew. That's a bad thing. Excellent sound and ANC and battery life from the AirMax's...just too damn tight and heavy.
Yea I don’t agree I own the QC Ultras and the AirPod Max’s and I find the Apple is heavy, tight and awkward looking. I love the seamless integration of the Max with my iPhone as far as ease of use definitely the clear winner. As far as sheer comfort, sound quality and noise cancelling I much prefer the Bose QC Ultras.
Which one is best for gym work out. I don’t think apple is good when you get sweaty as they use mesh for ear cups. I’m thinking the Bose one for my gym….not sure about the Sony
Compared these three myself, simply put...Sony. To me it had a better all-around sound. When you factor in that the Sony's are also the cheapest of the three the choice is clear.
This review is almost accurate. The one problem I have with it is that you didn’t talk about sound quality, and after comparing the AirPods to the Bose I’m honestly shocked at how much better the Bose are then the AirPods. like the AirPods are actually quite bad when it comes to sound quality so I would still choose the Bose
I’m an online teacher I have to teach my classes everywhere. I go sometimes in noisy environments and the max pro from Apple work perfectly for my needs most of my students don’t complain about background sound and a coffee shop.
We dont need bias opinion.. i bet you youre going to agree that their product will be the best as long as the product have a apple name on it.. how about dont be any bias and try the other headphone
I think, if you’re going to spend $500 plus on Bluetooth headphones, you might as well go all the way in and get Bang and Olufsen Beoplay H95. Or Focal Bathys. They both sound better. Otherwise , Bose is the best option.
There are certainly better sounding headphones like the ones you mentioned as well as V-Modas and N909, but the anc and transparency modes are trash in comparison. These are more about travel than sound quality.
I just bought Bose Ultra as an upgrade to Bose 700. First day, so I see a lot of inconveniences. The design is not as sleek nor durable, also the extra bass can be too much on certain songs. I think Bose played with the sound too much here. It’s more detailed , accurate , but it’s also more fatiguing with long listenings. It’s like they tried to emulate Sony, by bringing that sound signature closer to you. It’s more in your face, compared to their previous models. I liked the old sound signature because it was easy to listen to. It wasn’t detailed by any means, but it was fun as a background music, no matter the volume you would listen to. It takes a few days to get used to a new sound, so I’m working on that. Even if I would start liking the Ultra more, I think I would have a hard time getting rid of Bose 700. They are so easy to listen to. Fast to put on and most of all, they are not gimmicky like Ultra is with that immersive audio that tries to play with your head. Everybody turns that off, but yet, Bose made sure they charged us extra for the new inovative feature .
@@jackmontana1334 My opinion on these has changed. Starting with the second day I discovered that I actually like them a lot. They are super comfortable and they look great. Now I prefer the Ultra over the 700. Could be because they are new. But just judging the sound, Ultra sounds much better. I think they look better when you want them on. It just took a bit to get used to the change. There’s no vacuum pressure or noise. Noise canceling is the best. I even enjoy the Spatial Audio on certain songs. But there is a problem. When you’re walking with these on, you hear a crackling noise. It’s probably coming from inside the cup as your ears are touching the edges of the cup. It’s only on one side. Not sure what’s happening, but it’s related to the microphones. It almost sounds like the wind is blowing into the mic. It’s annoying and I wish they didn’t have this issue. At the same time, it’s not that much of an inconvenience to feel like I want to return them. My PX8 (which I bought a few days after I bought the Ultra), are much better than Bose. They sound better.and they are almost as comfortable as Ultra. Bower &Wilkins PX8 get more listening time, but I still enjoy the Bose for when I want more noise cancelling or a less engaging sound to play on a low volume in the background. I might get used to that Spatial Audio. Im going to keep them.
@@jackmontana1334 No. Because I’m on iPhone. I do have FiiO BTR 7, which supports it, but not while the main source of listening is Bluetooth over iPhone. I’ll have to try other sources. Do you have these headphones too? If you do, how do you like them? If you don’t, I do recommend them, unless you want to wait for XM6.
@@Marian1st. No, I'm still searching. It will be interesting to look at XM6 as well. And I'm also looking forward to the release of a new model from AKG, all the leading brands have presented their new models, but AKG is waiting for something, not announcing anything((
Most comfortable? I wore a X3 for years so wearing the Bose feels a little weird…. Debating if I should exchange the QC ultra for X5… what do u guys think?
When I buy the Iphone 16 Pro Max when its released, thats when I will buy the Air Pod Max. Hopefully the Air Pod Max 2 will be out by then. Right now I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. So I will go with the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra
Exactly why I did not really consider the Sony. Not only is that a common issue, but the hinges on the mx4 break easily, and I have heard similar about the mx5. I'm glad to see the bose are metal hinges instead of plastic.
I've had two pairs of the XM4's and spend on average about 5 hours a day on work calls. Both sets have had the screeching issue and one had an issue with heat build up and they would just tap out. I'm in a temperature controlled IT office and it's fairly cool in the room all day. Turning off the passthrough audio would reset the screeching, but it never fully goes away.
You forgot travelling. The Bose are superior for stashing in a backpack as they curl up smaller, the Apple case is a total ongoing cop out and embarrassment. Also you can look like a cartoon dog with funny ears wearing the Apple headphones. They just look silly.
Bose sucks. Oh man it is clearly qc 700 with a very poor Spatial Audio feature. The sound from boss is heavy with no sizzle. The noise cancellation and fit are great. Otherwise in case of sound it is pain old QC700 and stands no way near the others
Apple, whether it’s their phones, watches and headphones are always Uber expensive, but always seem to have the worst batteries 🤔 I mean, half the Sony!? Why is it that Apple can’t seem to, of everything else..figure this out….I could see a couple hrs …but half 🤔 the time….for their money, you’d just think they would be able to at least be close to the Bose….7 hrs is a lot of time…and Sony we’re talking pending the mode…10 to 20hrs.
