A little history on this song . The man who wrote it, was standing on a ship . The ship had stopped for a moment for him . He had lost everything, including his wife & children . There ship had sunk just a couple of weeks before in the same spot where he penned this song . Talk about faith

In 2000 I spent 2 month in Ukraine teaching English. While there I began sensing my call to ministry and have been a pastor for 19 years now. This conflict has my heart torn in two. I am a Quaker pastor so I pray for peace, and I also pray for freedom of the Ukrainian people and for Russia.
My little sister died in 1997 after a car accident and my parents sang this hymn over her before she died. So this song has very deep meaning to me personally. And I needed to hear it sang in this way. It reminds me that we are all loved by God and live in His kingdom not the kingdoms of men.
