Yalls 2018 install video was good, but this is even better honestly. I see yall changed a few parts of the kit and order of a few of the instructions. These instructions make the install flow a little better. Nice video! I will finish installing my 2020 Odin kit tomorrow!
Oil pump gears and crank sprocket are definitely things we recommend folks consider, especially if the planned use of the car will have it driven up and around the rev limit. This car will receive them eventually. This video is specific to just the installation of the supercharger kit and not a full build focus, hence only seeing the supercharger install.
Hey Shane, best bet is to drop us an email with some details on your car and the kit you're interested in to sales@vmpperformance.com. Our sales and support guys can get you a "to the penny" quote in no time.
The easiest way would be to remove the lid and the bolts in the lower so you can tip the blower after disconnecting the rails from the rest of the system. This would allow you to tip the blower from side to side to slide the old injectors out and new injectors in.
@@VMPPerformanceTV that will cost me 1500 dollars at your shop. Guess I will just stay on 93. I wonder why we didn’t put 1000cc injectors in it when I had you guys install the blower. I am an idiot.
It really depends on the style of use your car will see. The biggest risk for oil pump gears and the crank sprocket come from rev limiter strikes and similar situations. Stick cars that will be raced, cars with two step/launch control/flat shifting features installed, and similar set ups. Your basic street car that primarily cruised is no where near as likely to experience these situations. As always, there's outliers and we've seen bone stock engines have catastrophic failures as well as stock bottom ends handle way more power than they should ever see.
is there a issue with the belts slipping or tearing? i’m ordering the 6tib kit . i just hear it’s a problem with Odin . i have a auto which i don’t race daily drive etc. so i definitely don’t want to be found in the rd down because of a belt.
@@gt8674 our '16 GT shown in this video went over 20k miles before the belt was replaced and it's a stick car that JD drives pretty hard. Another feature we built into our kits is even if you loose the supercharger belt, it only drives the AC and supercharger. You'd still be able to drive the car. Your water pump and alternator are on a different belt system.
Wow I could not wait for this ..my order will be coming soon... I have a 17 what HP gain can I expect with Odin.. and do you suggest replacing OPG and crank sprocket?
We are putting together a dyno video as we speak. The test car is on 93 octane fuel with stock manifolds and catalytic converters. Look for that release later this week. The numbers, theoretically, will be in a similar range to the Gen3R in this configuration, with maybe a slight edge to the Odin. As for crank sprocket and oil pump gears, they are great insurance. Especially for cars that are driven hard and up near the rev limiter.
It is easiest to unless unbolt the lower potion of the head unit from the cylinder heads so that you can tilt the head unit for easier access to the harnesses and injectors. We'd recommend simply lifting it out for swaps of this sort for ease of access.
We are filming a dyno session and releasing it a little later this week. This test car is on 93 octane fuel with factory manifolds and cats. At this level, it should be similar to the Gen3R, with a slight edge to Odin.
@@stupidifyguy there is no cutting on the engine for our new belt drive system. The valve cover tabs for the wiring harness will be trimmed for fuel rail clearance. Only in the case of slight casting variances on the timing cover will there need to be any modification and it's minor at most.
@@PhilthyHorseRacingThat brace looks to be the factory plastic one that only connects to the passenger side strut tower. So, it hasn’t been cut. I think an aftermarket or FRPP full brace would fit no problem.
Dang. This is the dude I'd want to install my system.
In Commiefornia, we have very few gas stations with 93 octane. I gotta get the hell out of CA
Great installation video as always from VMP! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you Carl.

nice work as usual! i'll stick with my gen3 though!
What is the process of upgrading the injectors?
Excellent video guys
A centrifugal system is much much easier to install but I love this setup. Wondering if this exact system will fit on my Toyota Corolla 😂.
Nice work but dont you need to install oil pump gears also? Or are they not needed? Thanks.

No one bothered to recommend the opg before the installation of my odin kit
😱😱😱 There’s An Odin For 2015-2017 Mustangs Now? Nice, Finally The Gen 2s Won’t Be Alone Anymore And Can Compete Against The Gen3s With Odin 😈
Can you change the injectors without removing the blower ?
How much is the installation if we get VMP to install it?

roughly estimate how long to install/remove
When are you making a vmp gen 3 for the cobra guys
The Gen3R for 03/04 Cobras is currently in the hands of our partner Magnuson, who's begun the initial phase of construction and testing. Very soon!
Will this one fit the 11-14
Why does the belt layout show the tensioner to the left of the crank? I'm confused
Because our belt drive adds a tensioner on the left side for the supercharger system.
Got it, thank you
Quick question. What are the torque specs for the fuel rails and supercharger to the engine and supercharger top cover? Is it German specs?
Thank you!
You're welcome.
Just a quick question is the oil pump gears something that should be replaced with this install ??

is it necessary or a must to do the air lift procedure filling the D-gas bottle and Reservoir?
It helps the pump prime, if you don't use it make sure the water is circulating

about 700 wheel with odin just bolted on
If the fuel injectors ever needed to be replaced/upgraded would the blower need to come back off? Or can you sneak them out with the fuel rails?

Why does the 18+ come with a different IC pump? Also is that the bosch pump?
I think they changed the kit a little. I got a 2020 Odin kit and it came with this Bosch pump
What gap should I use with the supplied ngk spark plugs?
Gap them to .030 on the 88MM.

So, no torque specs or sequence for installing the lower intake / SC to the engine??? Just "tight"? Not very helpful.
I would be ordering this if my job hadn't shut down. Now I have to sell the car.

How much coolant would I need for this install?
If you're referring to the intercooler/heat exchanger capacity, from empty it takes roughly a gallon and a half.
