    Gives me a bit of insight of what I'll be doing at my new job. This was very helpful for foundational purposes.

    This was my first insight into Smartsheet. While this demo was good to show what the various buttons in Smartsheet do, this demo fell short, in my opinion, on showing how to apply it to day-to-day operations. For example, how would use Smartsheet to manage an IT software development project following Agile methodologies such as creating a Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Sprint Planning, etc. and tie everything together? Are there pre-build templates for these? Demoing the product using an example would have been helpfull. As it is, I am walking away from this demo thinking I can do everything I need using Microsoft 365.

      Hello Marc, thanks for the insightful feedback, and duly noted. This was intended to be more of an intro - without going into the weeds and making it overly complex for new users. I didn't want to overwhelm which can easily happen with product demos.
      But I understand and appreciate your sentiments, and agree somewhat. I think a follow up video that goes into this level of detail is required and something I will look to record, thanks, and take care!

    • @rosstucker3669

      I agree. I know how the various buttons work so I found that by the 10 minute mark I still had gain very little insight into SmartSheet. It would have been very much better to show us, with (fake) data, how to use the system. I stopped watching at the 10 minute mark.
      Personally, I think SmartSheet would have been a helluva improvement in my previous companies office - their method of office management was primitive and error-prone, but the state manager would not invest in any other method.
      I'll keep on looking for a more informative demo. Thanks for trying.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Shikha. Have you tried switching to the project task view, and right-clicking the columns that you don't want and deleting them? This should remove the fields from your cards.

    Hi, What are all systems can be connected to the smartsheet. I mean, can i connect databases or its just work for MS excel? Thanks in Adv.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Rakesh. Smartsheet has a range of different integrations and connectors. Perhaps the best place to go for this is on their site here: www.smartsheet.com/marketplace/apps. One thing I would mention though, is that some integrations and "apps" do come at a cost.

    Thanks for your effort but this introduction does not precisely show the features and what Smartsheet can do. It should illustrate with some fake data and simulate a project or workflow. To me, you show only a Spreadsheet with cloud data storage.

    Really a great video. Would smart sheet be good for tracking songs for a record company, publishing info , production, marketing etc. I was thinking making each song from inception a separate project, comments? Thoughts?

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sam. It definitely could be done and would likely work well. Especially if you wanted to share resources or collab with others too

  • @peggylang6999
    @peggylang6999 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    with regards to report; I have a report set up pulling data from 2 separate sheets - same list of store locations on both sheets; Sheet A contains contact details for each store and Sheet B contains some financials for each store; when I pull the columns from the 2 separate sheets into my report the resulting report lists the store locations in the rows with all the data requested from Sheet A and then lists all the store locations AGAIN with the data requested from Sheet B. I had expected for the data to simply be added in columns to the appropriate row. What am I doing incorrectly.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peggy, have you tried changing the "columns" aspect of the report builder? It may be the wrong columns are checked. It's pretty hard to tell without seeing it I'm afraid.

    Thanks for this good overview of Smartsheet. I will share with new team members. My team had been following the Center of Excellence videos to learn Smartsheet. Then they just disappeared. Do you know where we can find them? Thanks.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Leah, thanks for the kind words pleased it was helpful. I am personally not sure of what they did with the Center of Excellence - they did create Smartsheet University, which I assume is the new version. It looks to be mostly now paid - smartu.smartsheet.com/. If you want me to provide some training for your team, perhaps shoot me an email (my email address can be found in the about section of my TH-cam profile (th-cam.com/users/ProperProjectManagementabout), with your requirements. Great overview! Could you please give your opinion on whether Smartsheet can be used as a CRM? I run a small engineering business and I'm now trying to choose between Smartsheet and Clickup.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sergei. I haven't used Clickup so would not be able to advise on what is best between the two. Smartsheet certainly can be used as a CRM though, and they do have custom solutions available for setup (if you did not want to do this yourself). I would actually contact both directly and see what they can offer you. Take care!

    I'm a new subscriber to smartsheet and I'm still confused on how to organize sheets, folders, workapps, and workspaces. Scenario: So for a parent company that has baby companies - the baby companies each have their own Departments for HR, Prod, Marketing, etc. I want to create a compartmentalized group of companies in smartsheet that is contained in one parent company that manages all of them. ----- On another note, where can I avail smartsheet templates for more comprehensive functions such as CRM? HR? even salaries? etc.

    • @ProperProjectManagement
      @ProperProjectManagement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. Personally, I'd set the parent company as the workspace, baby companies as folders within that workspace, and then departments as sub-folders again. As for your templates, refer to the solution center.

    8 minutes in you're talking about bolding and italics. Horrid video. Get to what this product does that is value-add. Nobody is going to use smartsheets because it has the same bold button as every other piece of software on earth.

      Data storage, real-time reporting, automation. That's what Smartsheet does in a nutshell but you can get that from the official Smartsheet website. I just wanted to show under the hood - but thanks for the feedback. I will be sure to take it on board and improve going forward.

    • @ProperProjectManagement

      Hello NGP. You can, but with reduced features. You won't be able to do that much and you'll likely end up moving to a paid plan. There's more on this here: help.smartsheet.com/articles/520100-user-types#toc-free-user
