Given how in the Manga it's explained that he just really loves cute and soft things.
Finally the Eastern alchemists are here. I always felt like the "real" story began when the Eastern clans arrived.
Form of Therapy well mostly because this is the point in which brotherhood goes full on the manga path, i mean, in previous episodes they add new things but this is the point in which the series is in 100% new material
Literally every line out of Barry's mouth in this episode involved talking about chopping things, and you STILL don't see why they call him "The Chopper"?

I just realised Ling is introduced right after we see off Greed. I guess this could be one of the most subtle foreshadowing in a series, maybe?

I loved the new characters in Brotherhood, it being almost 100% canon from the manga. Ling Yao being my favorite, even more so later on (trying for no spoilers). FMA: Brotherhood is in my top 20, maybe 10 favorite all time anime. It is up there with the Fate series (Zero, Unlimited Blade Works, and I hope Heaven's Feel movie, Last Encore and Apocrypha). If you have not seen I highly recommend them, starting with Fate/Zero (they are on Netflix and Hulu.)!

I did not trust him af all for several episodes. It took Lan Fan getting injured and seeing how Ling reacted to it for ne to decide he may be an ok guy after all. And even then I was not sure.

It really is at the point where I'm just eager for each episode. While it's not my favorite, I do like the new opening, and I adore the new characters.

What do you mean I've been waiting for this all weekend... That's not at all how it is...
It does feel like there's been a break between this and last episode, it's a bit of a strange cut, but I think that has to do with that they caught up with where the original anime broke away from the source material, so they can FINALLY start to slow down a bit. Which following off the high-intensity that was last episode does make for a bit of an awkward cut, but hey, new characters, story beats, intro and outro (AND A PANDA) and we're only a fourth in! Besides, some comedy was probably needed, and it seemed like you guys had fun with it, even if there wasn't much to discuss afterwards (and I'm still living off the amazing discussion you guys had last week). And again, I'm literally looking forward to every single episode now. There's so much stuff that I can't wait to see how you react to, and what discussions might follow. :D
Just noticed but Greed was like Lucifer. Father created the homunculus to serve him, like God did with angels. Greed, like Lucifer did not want to serve God and ended up being sent to Hell (Greed was burned alive). Also makes sense since Greed was hanging out in the "Devil's nest"

Bruh, I have rewatched this show multiple times, but it was not until this moment that my brain compared the alchemist in the beginning of the episode with Mosquito from Soul Eater. He even does the spin attacks. Y'all, how has there not been a law suit

No if you go back, they say and spell it with a "b" in Fullmetal Alchemist. Mostly because it's the series that doesn't follow the manga.
nah man they're right, I've watched both series all the way through several times. in FMA 2003 they say "ishbal" but in brotherhood, they say "ishVAL"
Ok i know I'm 2y late but here's the thing, in Japanese there's no v (or l) so there's a lot of miss interpretation when it comes to words with those letters, the old fma followed fansubs that translated as "ishbal" because that's what it sounds like in Japanese and it's a made up word so no one knew any better. That's what happens to a lot of character names too, like Raito/light in death note and so many others. So in fact it was the same in both, it was just not translated correctly.
Best prince Ling hype only way to make him better is to add carbon onto him!

IMO, the ending of ep26 is what will truly make them love the show
+Jude Robinson Yeah, I agree. EP19 is where most go "OMG this show is AWESOME!" But EP26 is where it goes even *beyond* that. If you haven't cried at FMAB before EP26, EP26 is the first episode that will really make you do so IMO (or at least come very, very close to it).
TheFlamingShark just reacted to EP26 and he was speechless afterwards, and admitted he came close to crying.
YES! (Sorry i'm hyped) I also watched the Flaming Shark reaction, and I'm so glad it had such an impact on him, because that scene is what makes FMA so beautiful imo. Yes E19 is badass but a lot of shows can do badass, very few can replicate the emotional intensity of EP26's ending.

Avatar seems better and more magical if that makes sense, and the bending seems more widespread than alchemy does

Just to check it wasn't just me, was there a sound issue or something with this episode? It sounded like there was a loud fan at work in the background, or a plane overhead. An example is 10:35 onwards.
