You have to assume Pickens will be double teamed. WR #2/ TE possible double team as well. The natural progression will be WR# 3 or motion Pickens in the slot to match up with a LB as opposed to a cb/safety. It'll come down to Washington/Heyward/Austin
Canada didn't know how to use Austin what so ever. Hopefully Smith puts him in great positions and has plays for him so he can make a difference

Im not going to argue the locker room stuff or celebrity status yada-yada...
But if a guy like Russ, who a team traded multiple 1st round picks and gave a huge contract to just 2 years ago can be acquired for the vet min salary in free agency and he wants to be ensured he gets 1st team reps entering OTAs and minicamp, when there were a good number of teams who also wanted him... thats a pretty fair request. Especially given our QB room has been bottom 5 in the league for consecutive seasons.

Why can't Austin be a #2? Tank Dell was a very successful #2 last year at the same size. Hill and Waddle in Miami are small.
Austin is the #2 in my mind, if they let him do it. He is more than a gadget guy
