I think a video about your training history in general would be cool, how you built your base, what kind of programming/coaching you went through, rate of progression etc.
Great tip on not focusing on full hip extension during 2nd pull. I always noticed that the barbell would go forward whenever i cued myself to extend more which would cause me to jump forward more times than not. THANK YOU!!!!! You saved my back hahah.
Very good and insightful episode! Something you just won't hear elsewhere. I've been wondering about their style (bull snatch) and now you explained the hows and whys. Also two videos a day!
I've been working on clean, and starting my arms a little earlier with some tension has helped a lot. But now I have back strain hopefully back healthy soon
I think when you were trying to say "jump down" the better term may be "drop fast under" I also used to think this back in my high school days as my football coaches kept saying quotes like these. At the time it did not make sense, but the Olympics weightlifting movements we were doing such as power cleans, cleans, and pulls were not a priority but a means to an end.
Hi Gabriel, is full extension typical for the Chinese style? Is there a risk to loose bar forward in the snatch relying on this (partial) vertical extension?
I still watch training lifts from romanian lifter cristina iovu, she is strong and technical. do you know how much influence did she get when started lifting for romania since leaving arezbaijan and moldova
i have terrible coordination and can hardly drop down to catch in higher weights, i can clean low weights, but the higher i go the more power clean-like it is
I am 41. Too late to learn? (Just want to lift moderate weights.) It looks fun. Have been learning kettlebell cleans and swings and I like the ballistic aspect.
gabriel do you think that jumping onto high box starting from full squat can transfer better to your clean because you train fast re-bending of the knees when you land on the box?
So at what percent extension do you start pulling yourself under the bar as fast as possible, with elbows pointed to the ceiling? 80% extension? 90% extension?
Wow. That strength is truly impressive I aspire to reach a weight of at least 150 kg in the future. I appreciate your video; I found it to be highly informative @@gsincraian
??? Yu can't believe he can lift 200kg, he dont look that muscular?? The video clearly shows him lifting 200kg, (and he is muscular: maybe not bulky like a bodybuilder, but definetley an athletical muscular physique)
so if i understood correctly so dont focus so much on deadlifts just work on getting under the bar quickly. thanks a lot, of these videos they. the hook grip one helped a lot. been lifting for years and no one ever mentioned that. or maybe i did not listen. lol
Yes, that is correct. With hookgrip, like I said, are more then 50% of proffesional lifters that they dont know how to use it, so make sense that no one tell you before.
@@gsincraian one more queston if may. how much should i focus on pulls? my confidence increases greatly when i can do heavy pulls at least in the past.

as a beginner who is just finding out about all the subtleties of the techniques, this is very valuable. Thanks Gabriel
I never knew that as the weight gets heavier than body, then arms do have a role to play 😊
5:59 😳 quads indeed

Thank you for another great video. I’m an intermediate lifter but I’ve never trained snatch or C&J. I am very interested to learn.

Great job
what do you think of Kakhi Kakhiashvilis clean?
especially the one he did to win 1992... to me
thats the best clean ever
I did an video analysis of that lift: th-cam.com/video/4TPS4Snbqic/w-d-xo.html
i have terrible coordination and can hardly drop down to catch in higher weights, i can clean low weights, but the higher i go the more power clean-like it is
take care with your balance then, probably you end out of balance at higher weights
Great, thanks!

What are your thoughts on Valeriu Calancea? He has interesting technique with a wide stance squat. I wonder if you guys had a rivalry with each other.
I was waiting for this one forever gabriel 😁..

Thanks You 👍
Thank you too
What about clean pulls, Gabriel? Do you recommend athletes to not do them?
What was your best ever clean Gabe?
230kg my best clean
225kg best clean and jerk
So at what percent extension do you start pulling yourself under the bar as fast as possible, with elbows pointed to the ceiling? 80% extension? 90% extension?
84.75%
How you wanna translate percentage into reality?
Just go train and try bro 😂
How would you even begin to measure that?
Do you recommend not fully extending on the snatch? Or only on the clean?
for both is same :)
Lol that quads shot dayum
Great video, as usual
Thanks
Tomorrow is my clean&jerk training. Watching this before i hit the gym rrrr
good luck
My clean is terrible so this advice will definitely help.
glad it will help you
