I think Interstellar deserves a lot more credit than it has received. The movie was breathtaking and I found my eyes glued to the screen for nearly every scene (despite the movie being 3 hours long). The movie really sparked an interest of science that I never new was within me. Aside from that the visual affects were stunning and it really felt like you were in space. I am also glad to see Hans Zimmerman with a nomination. His music really captured the movie's message very well. The organ was a very nice touch. To me each note represented the passing of time as well as humanity's struggle to achieve the impossible. Overall 10/10. Interstellar is the 21st century's version of 2001 a space odyssey.
I hope The Imitation Game wins at least one award because it's a great film about amazing history. And Benedict Cumberbatch totally deserves for an Oscar with his role of Alan Turing. He was AMAZING in The Imitation Game!!!
Interstellar doesn´t get best Cinematography, Directiong, Original Screenplay or Best Picture? Another masterpiecefilm that will be remembered for it´s greatness for years to come ignored by the Academy.
@@ronaldmcdonald2817 hahaha right. To be honest interstellar takes between four to six watches to fully grasp it's genius. That's partly why it's going to take al least a dacade before ppl realize it's maybe the citizen kane of this millenia.
Eddie Redmayne best perfomance of the year (actor or actress). I saw all the movies of this year. And i haven't seen any perfomance like redmayne since Daniel Day-Lewis in "My Letf Foot"
you know why??? because both perfomances are similar... Both are men who have phisical problem.. so it is easy to win awards with that character... but in this case is not gonna happen..Eddie Redmayne didnt anything better to the Daniel Day Lewis' performance... Micheal Keaton was the best
WHAT? IT'S EASY TO WIN AWARDS WITH THAT CHARACTER???....i think that it's easy to fuck up with that characters than with the others. Michael keaton was awesome but didn't impressme at all. This is eddie award. And yeah D.Day-Lewis was better than eddie but please who can be compared with D.Day-Lewis, i mean the guy is a living legend. Is like comparing someone to michael jordan in basquetball.
Of course it is easy to impress the poeples with that kind of performance, because it is too dramatic and any one with that performance could impress to the audience.. Micheal Keaton made a tourd the fornce in Birdman, for that reason the critics awards preffered to him.. Eddie earned the nomination , good for him.. but Should not win with a performcane seen before
In that case michael keaton's perfomance is also seen before. I can't tell you from who, but is sure that we've seen that before. Like most of the things and most of the perfomances. We have seen similar things before. I respect your opinion with keaton but i disagree with your argument. Anyway is all subjective. My opinion is not better than anyone's opinion.
Where is Ava Duvernay?!? Why is she not nominated for best director?!?! I think she should've taken Bennett Miller's slot honestly. And the fact that if she was nominated she would be the first black woman shows her nomination would mean more than his. That's just my opinion.
I thought the Oscars would give nominations to Devernay and David Oyelowo. Also felt Dan Gilroy should've been nominated for BD and Jake Gyllenhaal for BA
I'm sick of hearing people complaining about how Meryl Streep is nominated every year and about how many asses she kisses for that, it's disgraceful. I'm sorry, she is one of the greatest actresses ever, but, like always, we have to wait until a real icon dies before starting to appreciate what we have lost... All of you haters will be kissing her ass when she will be gone. So sad how people can't recognize a genius while it's still alive. And YES, she is a better actress than all her fellow nominees!!
Can't wait to see the Oscars tonight, our family will be gathered around the tv. I'm so excited for Julliane Moore, she is one of my favorite actresses & I hope this is her moment to shine. I think her biggest competition will be Marion Cotillard who has won before and I heard did excellent in 2 days, 1 night but I really want Julliane to win. Less than 4 hours to go.............
It's been 5 years, but I'm still mad that Ralph Fiennes wasn't nominated for The Grand Budapest Hotel & I'm still living for the double Alexandre Desplat nomination.
Oscars today are being nomination for not how Good/Entertaining/Proffesional the film is but how imporant it is... (American Sniper, Selma, The Theory of everything, The Imitation Game ) etc...
Jesus Castillo Alot of movies came out this year, I havn't seen everything So I Couldn't state my opinion yet, but the Point is that they Nominated 8 This year when they could have nominated 10 They could have added a blockbuster film.
Chofiko well they have a check list to have a film nominated for a best picture. Not many action films have the credentials. Have you seen "the theory of everything", or "boyhood"? They r so good. Selma is an A+ film.
Chofiko Maybe it has something to do with the percentages of the voting results. So let's say only 2% percent members voted for Gone Girl then it wouldn't be nominated, even if there are only 8 films picked. I say that as a "maybe".
Jesus Castillo The only Movies I havn't seen this year are Theory of Everything, whiplash and Selma. I really Enjoyed boyhood but I dont think its a movie for everyone, Nightcrawler would be more entertaining for the majority of people watching it. As someone who Had my childhood in America I really related to boyhood but its honeslty not for every1. I think Nightcrawler was superb It had my on the edge of my seat throughout the whole film, Aswell as Interstellar, There are things I didnt like about the movie but in general I had an amazing time and experience and it felt like I was going on an adventure. My point Is I think they should have give a little more credit to some movies. 2014 was an amazing year in cinema so many good movies , they had option to vote 2 more films And I think was very ignorant not to do that.
so let me get this strait foxcatcher gets best supporting male, best lead male, best original screen play and best director but not best motion picture that makes no sense to me
Also what makes it absurd is there are only 5 slots for best director and there can be a max of 10 slots for best picture. So the Academy passionately nominated Bennet Miller over Ava Duvernet and David Fincher but didn't bother to nominate it for best film. Hmm funny.
Nameless Paladin yeah man that's what i'm saying I mean I suppose a bad script can be directed well but the script writer got nominated for his script so I just...don't get it foxcatcher movie of the year
''Whiplash'' was my favorite movie of 2014. Happy that it was nominated for Best Picture. Damien also deserved a nomination for Best Director. J.K. Simmons will win anyway. Of course, ''Whiplash'' won't win Best Picture because the race is between ''Birdman'' and ''Boyhood''. I saw both and I'm hoping The Grand Budapest Hotel to win Best Picture. The Academy rarely recognizes comedies as the Best Picture of the Year. I think there only three comedies that won the Best Picture Oscar (''Annie Hall'', ''Shakespeare in Love'' and ''The Artist'') So, I want The Grand Budapest Hotel to win this year. GO and get your Oscar, Wes Anderson! :D
I´m so glad tha Marion Cotillard got nominated and not Aniston, but i have to say that is really unfair the snubs for Tilda Swinton, Jessica Chastain, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ralph Fiennes and The Lego Movie, c' mon i know Meryl Streep is the best living actress but she didn´t deserve her nomination this time!! and also not more nominations to Gone Girl and Selma???
Finally! A nomination for Julianne Moore AFTER 12 YEARS! I'd love to see Jennifer Aniston nominated for an Oscar! But I love Marion too (God, she's so gorgeous) Obviously Julianne is going to win it and where the hell is Jessica Chastain? She deserved the nomination instead of Laura Dern!
Interstellar was just unnominated, especially Christopher Nolan for directing it And Grand Budapest Hotel is a bit overnominated in my opinion, you can clearly see that this cast, full of stars, got the film that amount of nominations Also Nightcrawler and Jack Gyllenhaal's perfomance in it should have been honored a bit more
Unbroken is a mediocre film that was not received well by critics. Jenifer Aniston's performance is good, but not OSCAR worthy. Interstellar however, I agree deserved a best picture nomination
It's too bad that "Get On Up" came out in the summer. Chadwick Boseman gave a tour de force performance as James Brown and deserved a nomination, in my opinion. Also, Ava DeVernay should've been nominated for Best Director. But I'm SO glad that "Budapest" and "Boyhood" got as much recognition as they did.
David Oyelowo for Best Actor and Ava DuVernay for Best Director were the biggest oscar snubs for this year. I thought bradley cooper had a strong performance, but I wouldn't pick him over David Oyelowo to be nominated.
Cooper is an "American sweetheart".... not nominating him to Americans would be like scrapping the Oscars altogether.. Silver Lining was a shit movie, but that got nominated anyway.
Well, if he convinced you thather perfoermcance was real.. ohh my god .. he deserve the oscar, because it was real.. you felt that way.. That was his performcane... He said that the personality was diferent of the character.. so you dont know anything about it.. He could have live something similar to the birdman's characther , but it doesnt mean that he had the same emotions or had done the same thing... So your comment is unuseful
I'm not arguing saying his performance wansnt great, it was. But he seemed like the exact same guy that he is in all of his movies. I believe that Jake Gylenhall or David Oyelowo should have been nominated over Keaton any day, because they transformed completely into their characters.
This is my opinion on who will win at the Oscars! Best Supporting Actor -- Robert Duvall for "The Judge" OR Edward Norton for "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" Best Supporting Actress -- Emma Stone from "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" Best Makeup & Hairstyle -- "Guardians of the Galaxy" OR "The Grand Budapest Hotel" Best Costume Design -- "The Grand Budapest Hotel" Best Cinematography -- "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" Best Writing Adapted Screenplay -- "American Sniper" Best Writing Original Screenplay -- "Nightcrawler" Best Music Original Score -- "Interstellar" Best Foreign Language Film -- "Wild Tales" Best Directing -- Richard Linklater for "BoyHood" OR Wes Anderson for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" Best Actress in a Leading Role -- Marion Cotillard for "Two Days, One Night" Best Actor in a Leading Role -- Bradley Cooper for "American Sniper" & Best Picture -- Selma OR Boyhood
None of your acting predictions will happen. Supporting awards will be most likely going to Simmons and Arquette and the leading awards will go to Redmayne and Moore.
I always hate when people like you have such a severe case of the "I like to root for the underdog" mentality that you completely ignore reality and completely undermine great and exceptional performances all because you dont want to see the favorites win. But sometimes the favorites are favorites for a really good reason. Either that or you just haven't seen the other movies so you can't properly compare the quality.
Nolan should´ve been nominated for sure, Interstellar is a masterpiece and the directing was sublime, the goosebumps you experience throughout the whole film are countless, and where is Interstellar´s best picture nomiantion?! really guys?! Jake Gyllenhaal was amazing in Nightcrawler, and Bradley was nominated the last 2 times! I mean, he is not having that oscar, Keaton is, or maybe Redmayne, so Jake should have been nominated. I never thought I´d say this, but the oscars are slowly losing meaning. It´s a shame. I´m not saying these movies are bad, but some nominations feel empty. Carell and Cumberbatch are great, and they deserve those nominations (their first btw), but cooper? yes, he is an amazing actor and I am a fan, I like his work, but this was not his best movie, nor his best performance. I don´t mean to offend anybody, but just because he plays a war hero doesn´t mean you are politically obliged to nominate him. Dick Poop was hilarious though.
I have hard time believing that people are hating on Cooper's nominations, yet out of the 5 nominees he is the one who gave the most transformative performance. That was not Cooper in American Sniper, he was a completely different person.
best picture: interstellar? gone girl? nightcrawler? best actor: Mccounaughey? Gyllenhaal? best actress: Jessica Chastain? best director: ava duvernay?
American Sniper for Best Picture? No. Over Gone Girl, Nightcrawler etc? Bradley Cooper over David Oweloyo and Jake Gyllenhaal? Gtfoh. And I want to laugh at the people complaining about Meryl Streep's nomination when they would never say anything like that about Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Daniel Day Lewis etc. Get over it, she has her 19th nomination and deserves it. I would have liked to see Emily Blunt gets a nom but glad Marion Cotillard got it. Other than that, these nominations are very safe ones and that disappoints me. Have a little variety. Boyhood's praise is something I will never understand. Kudos to its awards, but I just think its overrated. The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything were typical Oscar bait.
MY OSCAR NOMINATIONS MORNING THOUGHTS: - Wow, 8 Picture noms. ANERICAN SNIPER overcame its lack of Eastwood for Directing and displaced FOXCATCHER. - THE LEGO MOVIE gets Song, but not Animated Feature. Damn shame. - On the other hand, HOORAY for SONG OF THE SEA & THE TALE OF PRINCESS KAGUYA getting Animated Feature noms! Now I only hope HTTYD2 doesn't win. That spotty film managed to become more overrated than LEGO MOVIE as the year progressed. - With LIFE ITSELF out of the way (Oscars snub HOOP DREAMS director Steve James again!? Did they not learn from 1994??), CITIZENFOUR should take this easily. - They nominate “Feast", but overlook the legendary Glenn Keane’s “Duet” for Animated Short. If either one failed to receive a nomination, I’d be pissed. And here we are. - Damn, Gyllenhaal missed out on Best Actor. At least NIGHTCRAWLER got a Screenplay nom. Really hope Keaton doesn't get upset by Redmayne. - Pike obtained GONE GIRL's only nom for Best Actress. Damn shame. Please just give it to Moore already. Pike winning would be awesome though. - Brolin couldn't upstage Duvall in Supporting Actor. Still doesn't change my opinion that Brolin was the best thing in the incoherent and needlessly-sexualized mess that was INHERENT VICE, or that THE JUDGE was underwhelming and needed a different director. - Dern made it past all the guilds to get a Supporting Actress nom. Too bad for Russo (NIGHTCRAWLER) and Swinton (SNOWPIERCER). Though this'll go to Arquette likely, I'm rooting for Emma Stone. - Voters will have the chance to give Lubezki his 2nd consecutive Cinematography Oscar or finally award Deakins for UNBROKEN. Probably the 1st option. - So much comic book cinema in Visual FX. I guess giant monsters and robots (GODZILLA and PACIFIC RIM from 2 years ago) were never in vogue. INTERSTELLAR or APES should take this. - Love the WHIPLASH love in Editing and Picture. Simmons will win Supporting Actor for sure. - BIRDMAN's absence in Editing shouldn't shut it down, according the long-held Editing/Picture trend. It is, after all, a film meant to be devoid of editing. The film made up for it in both Sound categories, which I wasn't expecting for my favorite film of 2014 at all. - SELMA was meagerly treated. Its Picture nom is an obvious consolation prize, especially in light of the FOXCATCHER/SNIPER displacement. At least Common and John Legend should get Song. - With Antonio Sanchez's percussive BIRDMAN score out of the running since it was (unfairly) ruled ineligible a few weeks ago, PLEASE just give Score to Alexandre Desplat, particularly for THE IMITATION GAME. Jóhannsson's okay score for THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING only makes me pity more for last year's PRISONERS, which Jóhannsson also scored. (Makeup?). Just give it to Desplat, who did not just 2 but 5 GREAT SCORES for 2014. BRIEF TALLIES: - BIRDMAN & THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL with 9 noms - THE IMITATION GAME with 8 noms - BOYHOOD & THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING with 6 noms CONCLUSION: Let's see what happens. I really hope that BIRDMAN and/or THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL clean up in the end. THE IMITATION GAME would be a boring victor if the voters go for it. BOYHOOD, a fine film, is the obvious winner, but being tied for 4th most noms might hurt its chances given the trends. If it claims Picture/Director victory in the end, that means the Academy had gushing love for Linklater's 12-year tale. And that's completely fine in my book. I'd rather have that win than the solid but by-the-numbers IMITATION GAME. Still, that was a good nominations morning. BIRDMAN and/or THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL for the win!! :D
BlueFox94 For me was #1 Boyhood #2 Whiplash #3 Birdman , i saw the imitation game i dont want to be rude , but this movie is not quit good , the only gold of that ring , it was Cumberbatch , what an actor , he deserve at least 1 oscar like dicaprio
***** Not in criticizing the quality of the film itself (which is pretty average when weighing the film's strong points and weak points), but in the way people talk about it. People refer to it as some sort of masterpiece and better than Frozen. Me? I honestly believe that The Book of Life, Big Hero 6, Song of the Sea, The Lego Movie, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya are FAR better.
Julianne Moore is a lock for still Alice. Though her performance is rivaled in brilliance by Marion Cotillard. Glad they made up her Rust & Bone snub (though that was a very incredible year for actresses young and old.)
So happy for Marion Cotillard over Jennifer Aniston. She won't win, but at least we don't have Jennifer "I turned 40 something so after making money with shit my all life now I really need to pretend I can act" Aniston
Overall it was good, but there were quite a few snubs: 1. Selma - Best Director, Best Actor (Bradley Cooper get out of there. It was a good performance, but not even half as good as David Oyeiow) 2. Gone Girl - Best Director, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay 3. Nightcrawler - Best Actor (Steve Carrell is a supporting actor), Best Picture, 4. The LEGO Movie - Best Animated Feature 5. Foxcatcher - Best Picture (get rid of American Sniper it was a good movie though not award worthy), Best Supporting Actor (As much as Robert Duvall is awesome, he does not need to be nominated)
Gillian Flynn could've been nominated for best adapted screenwriting. I'm a writer myself ( I write mainly YA suspense/thriller novel) and know how difficult it is to write an original suspense story and she did it as an author and a screenwriter. She deserve, at least, a nom if not a win.
Best picture nominees from best to worst IMO #1.The Grand Budapest Hotel #2.Birdman #3.Whiplash #4.American Sniper #5.The Imitation Game #6.Selma #7.Boyhood #8.The Theory of Everything
aisha khanna no he was even good enough to win the oscar. i mean carell and benedict are not deseving a nom. and jake was 100x times better than cooper
Furkan Ocak They should have given the nom to Jake in place of Benedict.Benedict acts like a Sherlock in every freaking movie he is definetely overated.
So they are going to ignore that jake Gyllenhaal had one of the best performances of all year. But I am happy for the inherent vice and so happy the grand Budapest hotel was not ignored. Some odd nominations... I have to say. For the first time I actually have no interest in the best actor. We all know it's not going to Steve carrell. It's going to Micheal. So I'll be looking forward for best director. For me it's between the grand Budapest and Birdman. Oscars love those artsy styles of movies. Take gravity for example. . Anyway like always... People who deserved some recognition got left behind. ....... At least interstellar didn't go completely unrecognised. But Nothing for chastain for most violent year? Something is not right. I Don't want to call out names but I can see certain people that don't deserve nominations. I feel like most of the performances got nominated for the sake of promoting a movie. Some pretty average performances. Maybe next year I guess. #oscars at least the golden globes got something right.
It was a good surprise to see Marion Cotillard nominated, she should have been nominated for "Nine" and "Rust and Bone" so it's fair and totally deserved. This said, Rosamund Pike was robbed that year.
I hope Dick Poop wins. It's been a really long, hard push for him to make it.
Gone Girl and Nightcrawler got robbed. Happy that Whiplash was nominated for best picture though.
Where's Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler... He was phenomenal in that film :(
Exactly.
yepp i dont understand
He always gets snubbed! He should've also been nominated last year for PRISONERS.
Jake Gyllenhaal definitely deserved an nomination and Miles teller was snubbed too..
and worse... OVERLOOKED OVER COOPER
Really?! Bradley Cooper?! Jake should've been nominated!!! The dude was literally a different person in Nightcrawler.

Night crawler was overrated as hell and Yes I saw it and hated that movie.
willhunting1995 The movie was good, but it's not really about the movie, it's about the acting performance. Jake's performance was way better than Bradley Cooper's performance.
willhunting1995 I only hate the end.
As least it was nominated for Best Original Screenplay. Other than Best Original Song and Picture, Selma narrowly got squat!
Jake Gyllenhall totally got snubbed for best actor, he was SO good in Nightcrawler
Bradley Cooper??! The other four totally deserved the nomination but Cooper???!
Have you even seen American Sniper? Bradley Cooper was brilliant in it. Was he deserving of a win? No, I think that Redmayne is far more deserving. But Cooper did indeed deserve his nomination.

Nightcrawler got fucking robbed this year. Jake Gyllenhaal got absolutely stonewalled. :(
Hans Zimmer must win Best Original Score!!! That music STILL gives me goosebumps!!
How could Ralph Fiennes not have been nominated for the best actor? This is just ineffably absurd.

Joaquin Phoenix cannot compare to the skill of those nominated. He was just a stoner PI in Inherit Vice
No nomination for Charlotte Gainsbourg for Nymphomaniac :o
WHY IS INTERSTELLAR NOT IN BEST PICTURE???
Andres Iniesta How is it propaganda... The movie shows how inglorious war is... he comes home fucked up
Andres Iniesta
Fuck you. American Sniper was excellent. Boyhood doesn't deserve to be nominated for best picture. It fascinates me the level of hatred for America amongst people now a days.

Benedict Cumberbatch
Eddie Redmayne
I'd take Miles Teller over Cumberbatch anyway.

My opinion is not better than anyone's opinion.
if you cannot see from who you have seen the performance, dont say anything...
Where is Ava Duvernay?!? Why is she not nominated for best director?!?! I think she should've taken Bennett Miller's slot honestly. And the fact that if she was nominated she would be the first black woman shows her nomination would mean more than his. That's just my opinion.
The academy needs younger and more diverse members, Ava was straight up ROBBBED.
Laura Dern deserves to win! She was last nominated 23 years ago, and has been consistently great in her every role ever since.
So happy that Benedict Cumberbatch is nominated. he doesn't even have to win, it's just amazing that sherlock has the chance to win an oscar.
I don't care how many times Meryl Streep's nominated, I'm always happy to see her there.
I thought the Oscars would give nominations to Devernay and David Oyelowo. Also felt Dan Gilroy should've been nominated for BD and Jake Gyllenhaal for BA
so so happy for Marion Cotillard! :)
so so sad about the absence of Jessica Chastain! :(
No Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Gone Girl?!
Upgraded The Best Pitcure Nominee From 10 To 15 .
Interstellar should have been nominated, it had stunning depictions of the tesseract and black holes!
Who do you want to see take home the big prize? Chofiko
Jesus Castillo The only Movies I havn't seen this year are Theory of Everything,
whiplash and Selma. 2014 was an amazing year in cinema so many good movies , they had option to vote 2 more films And I think was very ignorant not to do that.
so let me get this strait foxcatcher gets best supporting male, best lead male, best original screen play and best director but not best motion picture that makes no sense to me
nightcrawler deserved more nominations than foxcatcher imo
I feel like the only one who thought foxcatcher was movie of the year
Corey Crossman
It was very well made. I'd say the best of the year were Whiplash, Birdman and Interstellar.
Also what makes it absurd is there are only 5 slots for best director and there can be a max of 10 slots for best picture. So the Academy passionately nominated Bennet Miller over Ava Duvernet and David Fincher but didn't bother to nominate it for best film. Hmm funny.
Nameless Paladin yeah man that's what i'm saying I mean I suppose a bad script can be directed well but the script writer got nominated for his script so I just...don't get it foxcatcher movie of the year
hobbit should have got nominated for visual effects, best score and best song
I am definitely for Rosamund Pike from Gone Girl!
I don't understand how they could nominated Selma for best picture but not nominate it for best actor/director/cinematography.
So... I've changed my mind. I want ''Birdman'' to win Best Picture this year. :D
Selma needed Sandra Bullock to get more nominations
Trent Reznor, David Fincher, Atticus Ross, Jake Gyllenhaal were snubbed.
Go! The Theory of Everything team!
Interstellar was just unnominated, especially Christopher Nolan for directing it
And Grand Budapest Hotel is a bit overnominated in my opinion, you can clearly see that this cast, full of stars, got the film that amount of nominations
Also Nightcrawler and Jack Gyllenhaal's perfomance in it should have been honored a bit more
BENEDICT"S A NOMINEE! My Baby's growing up ;-;
Where's Jennifer Aniston for Cake? or best film for unbroken? interestellar?
Unbroken is a mediocre film that was not received well by critics. Jenifer Aniston's performance is good, but not OSCAR worthy. Interstellar however, I agree deserved a best picture nomination
Unbroken was an awful film.
unbroken was good but not Oscar nominated for best picture good
Yes, Meryl! ❤️
Thank you
Oscars 2015: Year of the White Man. Oops, wait that's every year.
David Oyelowo for Best Actor and Ava DuVernay for Best Director were the biggest oscar snubs for this year. I thought bradley cooper had a strong performance, but I wouldn't pick him over David Oyelowo to be nominated.
where's gone girl !!!! only get 1 nomination. what a shame. such a great film.
So Cooper gets a nomination over Ralph Fiennes?
What's wrong with this fucking world?
Cooper is an "American sweetheart".... not nominating him to Americans would be like scrapping the Oscars altogether.. Silver Lining was a shit movie, but that got nominated anyway.
the academy always loved to kiss client Eastwood's ass for anything he makes, million dollar baby was totally overrated
Bradley Cooper was mesmerizing in American Sniper, you guys are nuts.
I really don't think Keaton deserved the nomination, he wasn't really playing a character, he just seemed like he does in real life in the movie.
Best Supporting Actor -- Robert Duvall for "The Judge" OR Edward Norton for "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)"
Best Supporting Actress -- Emma Stone from "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)"
Best Makeup & Hairstyle -- "Guardians of the Galaxy" OR "The Grand Budapest Hotel"
Best Costume Design -- "The Grand Budapest Hotel"
Best Cinematography -- "Birdman: or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)"
Best Writing Adapted Screenplay -- "American Sniper"
Best Writing Original Screenplay -- "Nightcrawler"
Best Music Original Score -- "Interstellar"
Best Foreign Language Film -- "Wild Tales"
Best Directing -- Richard Linklater for "BoyHood" OR Wes Anderson for "The Grand Budapest Hotel"
Best Actress in a Leading Role -- Marion Cotillard for "Two Days, One Night"
Best Actor in a Leading Role -- Bradley Cooper for "American Sniper"
& Best Picture -- Selma OR Boyhood
None of your acting predictions will happen. Supporting awards will be most likely going to Simmons and Arquette and the leading awards will go to Redmayne and Moore.
kellenabner I didn't see Whiplash so I can't say if Simmons will win or not.
Well lets see what the results will be today!
Josef Hautala an you're a fucking piece of shit
Selma should've got more nominations
Eddie Redmaynea all the way.
I hope Meryl wins. She plays all her roles to perfection! 💛
The Oscar nominations 2015: part 2 was also short and sweet. And I will be watching and good luck to all the nominees.
Yes!!! Rosamund Pike is nominated for Gone Girl!! The best female performance of the year. I hope she wins!
MY OSCAR NOMINATIONS MORNING THOUGHTS:
- Wow, 8 Picture noms.
BRIEF TALLIES:
- BIRDMAN
& THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL
with 9 noms
- THE IMITATION GAME
with 8 noms
- BOYHOOD
& THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
with 6 noms
CONCLUSION:
Let's see what happens.
My sentiments and desires exactly.
you didnt see whiplash , didnt you?
TheClown kiss I did see Whiplash. #3 favorite film of 2014, just under Nightcrawler, which is under my favorite--Birdman.
MIchael Keaton in Birdman was awesome
Julianne Moore is a lock for still Alice. Though her performance is rivaled in brilliance by Marion Cotillard. Glad they made up her Rust & Bone snub (though that was a very incredible year for actresses young and old.)
WHIPLASH NEEDS TO WIN
Michael Scott kisses Oscar. Then gets nominated.
So happy for Marion Cotillard over Jennifer Aniston. She won't win, but at least we don't have Jennifer "I turned 40 something so after making money with shit my all life now I really need to pretend I can act" Aniston
I hope Guardians of the Galaxy wins for best makeup
Overall it was good, but there were quite a few snubs:
1. Selma - Best Director, Best Actor (Bradley Cooper get out of there. It was a good performance, but not even half as good as David Oyeiow)
2. Gone Girl - Best Director, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay
3. Nightcrawler - Best Actor (Steve Carrell is a supporting actor), Best Picture,
4. The LEGO Movie - Best Animated Feature
5. Foxcatcher - Best Picture (get rid of American Sniper it was a good movie though not award worthy), Best Supporting Actor (As much as Robert Duvall is awesome, he does not need to be nominated)
“Tangerines„ is Georgian movie ! :)
Chris Pine estava de pe mas estava dormindo a maior parte da apresentação dos indicados ao Oscar.
Michael Keaton Michael Keaton Michael Keaton
Wild Tales.!!!
EMMA STONE FROM BIRDMANNNNNN!!!!
my top 3 are: Whiplash, Birdman and The Grand Hotel Budapest and I also LOVED interstellar but I think it wont win best picture..
I like how Wes Anderson and The Grand Budapest Hotel are getting some love from the audience.
Gillian Flynn could've been nominated for best adapted screenwriting. I'm a writer myself ( I write mainly YA suspense/thriller novel) and know how difficult it is to write an original suspense story and she did it as an author and a screenwriter. She deserve, at least, a nom if not a win.
Best picture nominees from best to worst IMO
#1.The Grand Budapest Hotel
#2.Birdman
#3.Whiplash
#4.American Sniper
#5.The Imitation Game
#6.Selma
#7.Boyhood
#8.The Theory of Everything
Wtf you all think Jake over Bradley ? No one beats Bradley's power house performance in American Sniper.Period.
Are you saying Jake didnt deserve the nomination?
Apollo Bently I didn't say that. Jake's performance was good but not good enough for the nom.
aisha khanna no he was even good enough to win the oscar. i mean carell and benedict are not deseving a nom. and jake was 100x times better than cooper
Furkan Ocak They should have given the nom to Jake in place of Benedict.Benedict acts like a Sherlock in every freaking movie he is definetely overated.
SCREW YOU! THE FAKE BABY SHOULD'VE BEEN NOMINATED INSTEAD OF COOPER!! Lol but seriously... What's up with the baby.
OK I can't be the only one to hear a person burp at 3:44 or am I?
Send All Luck For Wild Tales! (Relatos Salvajes) - Argentina
Meryyyyl !!
And now… Argo (2013)- 12 years a slave (2014) 10 years later … 2025… And the Oscars winner is…
So they are going to ignore that jake Gyllenhaal had one of the best performances of all year.
But
Nothing for chastain for most violent year? Something is not right. I Don't want to call out names but I can see certain people that don't deserve nominations. I feel like most of the performances got nominated for the sake of promoting a movie. Some pretty average performances. Maybe next year I guess. #oscars at least the golden globes got something right.
Interstellar had better win Best Original Score, bad enough it wasn't even nominated for best picture
i am surprised "The Fault in our Stars" never got a nomination in any category...
STEVE CARELL!!! YES!!!
I wish that they replace Bradley Cooper with Ralph Fiennes
I love how some people whoop when they announce a certain nominee and then fall silent when they present other ones.
I hope any other movie except boyhood wins Best Picture.
BOYHOOD MUST WIN EVERY SINGLE NOMINATION!!! 😃!
At least in my opinion 😊
Is it just me or Cheryl's voice breaks a bit when she announced Selma as a Best Picture nominee (6:50)?
BIRDMAN WINNING FROM BEST PICTURE 🙇🔥🇮🇹🦅
Love Cheryl's glasses! Does anyone know who the designer is? Are they Prada?
Just saw Pine doing his best Shatner impression in Into the Woods.
It was a good surprise to see Marion Cotillard nominated, she should have been nominated for "Nine" and "Rust and Bone" so it's fair and totally deserved. This said, Rosamund Pike was robbed that year.
"Only" 5 nominations for interstellar?? SAD!!!
Thry Could Get More Nominee But Oscar Is A Jerk
