guys save your money this is an EASY DIY. Just buy your basic dremel and eBay sanding wheels, to port and shave the plenum, get a shop to shave off the upper plenum poles.
@@Iamablackkid hahah yeah bro that’s crazy. You’re spending only about $60-100 on a good dremel, maybe $50+ in supplies to be safe, if u do it yourself. Idk where these sellers get those type of prices, i ported my own plenum for about that much and only took maybe 3 hours.
Eric! I still keep up with you guy! You're a master mechanic only I can dream about being. I'm the gringo who teases you about your bullet hole ears. Take care buddy! Keep 'em coming! Show us illiterates what a master can do!
Great video brother👍. What was that chirping sound when you started the car? I saw it also in the other video you posted of this car. Keep up the good work. 👌
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE Have you had any issues with it since then? My car recently started doing this. Actually its only done it twice and its completely random but it sounds exactly the same on startup.
Just get a Mrev2 lower plenum and a Kinetix upper intake, plus a 75mm throttle body. The Kinetix upper intake is plastic so it doesn't hold heat like the aluminum one does, also it doesn't have the six previous bolt spots, the Kinetix is all smooth. If anybody is wondering the comparison for a stock upper intake to a Kinetix upper intake or a stock lower plenum to a Mrev2 lower plenum I have them on my channel.
A grand for no gains? Not criticizing you, but did you research this first and get them to send you ACTUAL dyno gains proven from use of their product? For $500 you can just buy Motordyne ART pipes and get way more gains and much better sounding exhaust, and then for another $600 just get a used XYZ pipe and even better sound and slightly more gains. Or a plenum spacer.....those do help as well and they're like $200.
you can take your plenum to possibly a local mechanic shop and ask if they can use an air cutter to trim the inside poles. Then use JB weld to seal the holes. This would be a good alternative if you wanted to do a DIY
@@sebastianhernandez2357 hell yeah that’s dope bro. & good luck bro 😭 if you’re gonna do the braided lines, another alternative for that catch can setup would be using clamps and black braided hoses (instead of steel) but they still looks fine, + barb fittings. I did a good amount of research on AN fittings when ordering parts.
@@DEATHWISHVQ yeah ima probably just go with the same set up you got I was gonna go with ADD catch can but I don’t think it’s baffled and atleast the moroso one has a breather
@@vq.krisssthis is an easy diy tbh. Use an air cutter, or ask a local mechanic shop if you don’t have the tools, seal with jb weld as an alternative to not having or wanting to pay for welding. Buy a dremel for $30-100 and buy the sanding sponges or whatever to smooth the inside.

For real bro ain’t nobody spending $1k for that plenum 😂

@@Iamablackkid thanks bro, I think a cheaper alternative to a big TB would be a TB spacer.

I have a feeling it's my timing chain the car has been sitting for a while so maybe I'll change the oil and hope for the best 🤞

No issues yet
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE Good to hear
Do you still have the G20?
yes I still have both 🥴
Any idea what’s the little black plastic looks like a cap on the plenum top or how to remove it ???
That start up did not sound like a healthy engine 😂
Still running strong
Is it okay if the g35 oil dip stick reads half way on a cold overnight engine?
it's missing about 1 quart of oil. top it off as soon as possible to avoid any issues.
Does stretching the intake over the throttle body cause any damage to the intake or put it at risk of disconnecting?
No
How has that upper plenum been working for you. Thinking about getting it but don’t see many people with them.
It make a huge difference in my opinion but it is pricey
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE lol yeah I’m hating cuz you got it for $200 that was a steal!

Only down side to that intake is the crappy gasket that's non serviceable
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE that I'd ture I remover mine and just used oil resistant gasket maker and works great
Is your strut bar touching the plenum or is there some tiny space between?
There's about an inch of clearance
I'm curious who u get your tune thru I need to get one as well... idk if I'm gonna go thru Z1, limp mode tuning, or admin.?
I was leaning more towards admin tuning email tune 🙌
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE I've heard some people complain about waiting a long time from admin. Like poor communication. But thats just what I've heard 🤷♂️
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE Idr, are you in Az? If so are there any shops in the valley you've had good experiences with?
You did not have to tune the car after all of this ?
No
Can I plug the holes on my oem plenum?
If you get them welded yes but you probably won't find someone who welds aluminum
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE what about using rubber/silicon plugs?
No this plenum is a shift tech plenum it has been modified
@@alvarotoledo3696get your poles from the inside plenum trimmed and plug them up with JB weld.
Does this increase idle?
No
