No, you just have to get the thick pipes. I probably should have mentioned that in the video. If you use that cheap thin stuff, it'll break easily. If it's for small kids, I'd go with 40 PVC. If it's for adults, probably 80 PVC or higher, depending on weight. Also there are two types of PVC plastics: uPVC, and plasticized PVC. Go for the Plasticized, as it is more flexible and the uPVC (probably the one you got - sorry! - is hard, and therefore more brittle/ prone to breaking and cracking) hope this helps!

Tried this with pvc pipe and the pipe gave way at the ends. Are you using something different?
