man i kind of wished i scrapped this video because my voice was actually so dead but I did need a video here this week or else there would be none, this was fun though, rvb is something i could talk about for hours so hopefully one day I get the chance to do so without being strained
Great to see love for Monty's RVB work. Most remember either Haloid or RWBY which are all great but RVB is such a great middle ground where you see Monty sort of hone his skills before RWBY. My favorite fight for RVB is easily the 3v1 of Tex vs York, Maine, and Wyoming. While Tex vs the Reds and Blues is a great introduction to the sort of humor you can expect from RVB and Monty, the 3v1 fight is a great introduction to Tex. Seeing her go up against actual well trained opponents vs the bumbling goofballs is great. It's also a great showcase of Monty's more simple hand to hand combat animation that gets overshadowed by the more flashy environment fights that involve weaponry. Just an incredibly skilled soldier easily outclassing 3 other skilled soldiers. My favorite part though is the climax of the hand to hand sequence. 1 vs Many fights typically have opponents either come at the 1 in rounds. One person fighting at a time when they could all probably rush in and overpower them, or if they do rush in you can notice background fighters mostly flailing about if you look closely. These aren't problems, the fights are meant to show off the fighters mastery I'm not really there for realistic fighting where they get dogpiled. But what's so impressive with Monty is he managed to have Tex be overwhelmed, with opponents all rushing her at once and sending out well placed punchs/kicks, yet she still manages to dodge, redirect, and land her own hits while surrounded on all sides. Even funnier is that it still has Monty using the environment only instead of standard grounds, she turns her opponents into the environment. Ending the fight by stepping on York's knee for a final kick. It's an outstanding moment that I think about all the damn time. Every time I see that it makes me wish we got more scenes of similar hand to hand fight scenes, which characters like Mercury in RWBY helped to bring back. Mercury vs Coco and Yatsuhashi. Mercury getting inbetween his opponents and ducking between their swings, even climbing on Coco's minigun similar to how Monty made Tex user her opponents as environments. It's a part of Monty's skill as a choreographer that I just adore.

you are going in and i respect it, its one of his best skills with how he makes the characters move and how the camera moves with them
