I had 3D Blast and Sonic R on the Saturn when it came out. I had to be around 5 or 6 years old. Half the time I had the game on was to purely listen to the godly ost’s. Here I am 32 years old now and fondly remember EVERY SINGLE DETAIL OF EACH SONG. It sticks with you. When I say this type of music I want to come back to the sonic series as a whole. We had a small glimpse of it during frontiers and especially the dlc. The Saturn generation and Dreamcast are overlooked too much in my opinion but thank you for shedding light on this!!😊

I’m really glad that you brought up the light motives in the game, it really helps to make you feel like you’re playing a movie of some sort, which was the philosophy of Masato Nakamura when he was composing for the first sonic game soundtrack. Which I found pretty neat!

Literally the best Sonic soundtrack of all time The genesis version is good, but there are some mid/bad tracks like Spring Stadium act 1, Panic Puppet act 1, Final fight, and the special stage. Also in comparison, both acts really blend together and sound the same just with slight differences ,with some exceptions. I will defend 3D Blast Saturn with my life idc

The Saturn version of Rusty Ruin Act 1 is not only one of my favorite Sonic songs….but also just one of my favorite video game songs period…it’s a genuine MASTERPIECE. Great video! I’m glad you didn’t scrap the video, this ost needs more exposure!

honestly i only found out about this ost because of the mission music in generations and because of sonic speed simulator. but both green grove acts and “you’re my hero” are my favorites

good opportunity to listen to this soundtrack as i always knew the 3d blast one you deserve to be chosen by the algorithm 🧐

I am so glad somebody is giving this soundtrack its flowers!! It’s SOOOOOOO underrated!

One thing I want to mention is when I first played the game I really liked how the turntables are spinning at the sides, I don't think I've seen anyone mention it but they're so cool and dynamic and really adds to the style

SONICCCCCCCCCC 3d blast is a banger ost, didn't really listen to it until people mentioned sonic adventure 1 referanced it but from then on game slays 🫶

Very good video, I really love Tatsuro Yamashita that I put every single song I can find from him and put them on my playlist. His discog is so good that he’s one of three artists that have nearly all of their music into my playlist. The only other two are Fujii Kaze and Kendrick Lamar. One more thing, I think you should change your video’s thumbnail to something like “Why this popular artist’s music isn’t on streaming services” to get more people unfamiliar to Tatsuro Yamashita to click on the video.

Too bad Bushiroad just dropped D4DJ a few weeks back and its most likely going to EoS before the year is over. Rev Star EoS is already confirmed for September, and Bandori Global is pretty much abandoned. If you are familiar with Bushiroad`s financials.. they are doing extremely bad and have started to cut back on everything.

i generally dislike most of the actual songs in d4dj but theres no arguing that the aesthetics and visuals are impeccable

I've been a huge fan of their style/art direction and the sheer consistency of it, from the album covers to the ui to the animations it's just so fun to look at and really helps distinguish itself from other idol games :D so glad you mentioned the logos for each unit too because they give such a clear impression about their vibe without even looking at the members' costumes or listening to their music beforehand; unichord's is also a highlight for me because incorporating the classic music wave symbol in their Ø while also having it branch out to loop around the logo to mimic a line of orbit for their space theme is so genius. photon maiden's is great too with their name being spelled out in morse code because they're trying to translate saki's synthesia into music. I adore how much effort was put into the branding of this game :)))

Very great video! I know a lot of people within the community who loves the style that was chosen for the game, specifically the UI and the gacha animation like you pointed out. The style of the game has only gotten better over time as well! Going from the regular unit gacha, to SP gacha animation and NV gacha animation, each one better than the last. And the unit specific UIs has been such a treat to look at, characterizing all the different units so uniquely.

D4DJ BEST RHYTHM GAME EVER

Its always so amazing to see someone else out there who can gush about the visual styles of games, especially D4DJ's which I feel like is somehow an underrated detail of the franchise. The style has even inspired me to make more changes in my own art style, like using more strokes, drop shadows, brighter colors, and half tone effects. Also, I really like your editing style! I'm curious where or how you've learned to edit like that. I've always admired the visuals and editing of MVs, especially those from the MTFCB entries. I feel like I get really overwhelmed at the idea of breaking down all of the details put into editing like that to be able to create a shot that feels so complicated. I'm hoping one day I'll actually have the time to really study and learn how to create something even nearly as amazing as that.

d4dj's visuals are some of my favorites out of ANY rhythm game I've played. my fav unit has always been happy around bc I really like how they use colors and the pop art style in order to stand out 🥺

You making the connection to ZZZ as well really hit me as that’s a game I was super drawn to thanks to the visual style. Never realised the parallell but now that you said it I see it and it’s so true!

D4dj isnt just good at visuals they have taste in music as well!! The amount of tanoc originals and tanoc songs in jp made me actually shocked the fact maozon remixed a song for d4dj.

probably tangentially speaking here but i feel like everything that went into d4dj---its songs, its visuals, its style, even down to its colors---just shows how much love/effort was put into this project. i don't know much about style and all its technical points, but when you look at even just the ui of the game, you immediately know that you're playing d4dj. i'm sure someone smarter than me can talk more about the finer details of this game much better than i can, though 😭😭😭 anyways, you're so real for this and this is what i've been thinking but didn't know how to put into words!!
