Absolute fantastic, thank you so much. I immediately recognized two problems I have had pointed out to me by others but did not know how to fix them - over looking the rib and barrel dip.
Mr. Currie, that is the perfect video presentation for my current level of shooting - D Class and hopefully moving up to C shortly. I have watched this video several times now and will put it to use tomorrow at a NSCA shoot. Sometimes the simple technics are the best in most things we do. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for the great video. Just bought my first shotgun Mossberg 590 tactical. I have yet to receive the gun, but instructions from this great video will help me with my due diligence before taking the gun to the range.
Great piece of advice 👏👏I'm old now I used to shoot a lot when i was younger and i shot a lot better. Things started to go wrong and at one point it got so bad I was going to sell my guns. I have my moments but I'm not consistent this could be a big part of my problem thanks Don really appreciate your advice 🤙🏴
I am looking to buy a Vortex AMG UH-1 Huey holographic red dot on my shotgun. I'm told that this product will sit too high for a good check weld. As a novice shooter, this may be a dumb question but if the primary purpose of a good cheek weld is aligning sights with the target then is cheek weld still even relevant/important?
I believe if you mount near your nostril you won't be lined up correctly. Practice your mount in front of a mirror. Eyes level, beads aligned with iris of the eye.
+Brian Kavanagh Yes, It could, if you mount to the shoulder first you could easily duck your head down on the comb. With the cheekbone on the comb, there is a greater risk for "cheek slap" Plus lots of other problems. Don Currie is spot on here
Do no agree what he said in the video. It does not matter which way of how you mount the gun, ether to shoulder or cheek. He did say a good gun fit will help, but gun-fitting does not mean just the length-of-pull, also has a lot to do with comb hight. Once the stock properly fit to shooter's shooting habit, nothing would matter ether shoulder or cheek mount.

Tried this advice the last time I visited my sporting clays course and had a dramatic improvement in my score.
Great advice Don. Why isn’t anyone else saying exactly this??? 👍👍👍😀

Wow. I've never had anyone explain it that simply and succinctly. Thanks. Now I need to get fit for a proper gun.
I'm new to firearms and was confused by this concept; thank you for the clear explanation!
Learn something new every day. And am 51.... Awesome tip.... thanks
This was very helpful in helping understand why I'm always tilting my head too much. I've been mounting shoulder first then cheek.
Great instructional video Don. You are an excellent coach!
Many thanks for the very valuable advice

The problem is FINDING someone you can actually trust who is actually qualified to properly fit a shotgun in your area.

Thank you very much, sir! Very helpful to me!
Where exactly on the cheek ledge? I feel two, one closer to my eye above my nostril and the second one between my ear and nose
I believe if you mount near your nostril you won't be lined up correctly. Practice your mount in front of a mirror. Eyes level, beads aligned with iris of the eye.
When shooting a rifle you want to mount to the shoulder then the cheek correct?
I can’t figure this out! Can someone please help me? My instructors, grandpa, and multiple videos, and I still do it wrong ahhhh!
Good point.
Thks For Sharing!
Excellent, thanks!
If this is not done, will it lead to "cheek slap"?

Excelente vídeo.pero sería mejor publicarlo también en español
Excellent! New sub here!
Great
Would you mount a hunting rifle the same way?
I need to break this bad habit. Thx Don
I think this is my problem.
I get bruised on my cheek. Please help
So, we were taught to shoulder the gun, but we should really be cheeking the gun lol

Don't agree, If you mount to the shoulder first, you are more exposed to get your head in a wrong position making contact with the comb
THUvidz It is all personal preference. Now I understand more. Sorry about disagree with the video.
Correct...and I agree with you fully!
And your instructor qualifications, please? You don't say...
stop aiming at me pls
Не знаю английского, но всё понял.
