The deal with Yoongi being quiet a majority of the time is that he answers only smart questions like the process of songwriting, inspiration, and similar. He usually completely ignores the questions of the likes of collaboration, dating, and such.
Jimin is a very tactile person and he usually touches the person nearest to him. The skinship in Korea is much bigger than US, mainly for idols.
American music is played in Korean stations pretty often but the domestic production still takes preference of course.
Shipping in this fandom exists, unfortunately some ships have many fans taking it a bit too far. The most common shipwars are between Jikook, Vkook and Vmin. The least problematic ships are Namjin and Sope. There are actually all possible ships here (each pair) There is nice content showing their mutual respect and adoration to each other which shows the depth of their bonds. Since the maknae line is more tactile and open, there is more content for them.

Lucia Krc There are ship wars with Vmin? Vmin seems like a very unproblematic ship tbh. Nearly everyone accepts that those two are soulmates. I’m pretty sure it’s mostly between Taekook and Jikook.
Most Vmin shippers just watch disappointedly as Taekookers and Jikookers duke it out. I have never seen a problematic Vmin shipper.

Yeah, they understand more than they speak. I wish people would realize this is a thing, last year (at a private industry party where they'd been invited to get an award, no less) some lady badmouthed them for wearing make-up like while standing next to them. Jin heard, and he posted a selfie with the caption "it's a waste of makeup otherwise".
They picked up their award, said hi to three people and left.

Korean culture is really different from our Western culture, especially the relationship between men. We have to consider that these boys have known each other for almost ten years and have a very strong relationship, and adding that to the culture, results in a very warm relationship lol. So don't be surprised to see them super close, just like the girls do here in the west. They sleep together, hug each other constantly and treat each other with great affection. It's very special ... 11:55 I think the reason why V laugh when jungkook sang the lyrics of mic drop ("My hands carry them") was because of an incident in Japan. They talked about it on a radio show on how the song Mic Drop has 3 versions (English version, Korean version & Japanese version). So they had a concert in Japan and will perform Mic Drop. Obviously they will sing the Japanese version 😂 however during the performance on stage, V got confused and mixed up those lyrics that he just scrambled some alien words right after😂😂 well that's what I think on why V got embarrassed and laugh😂👌

So about some parts of the video. 1)JHope telling about “dating with members”- word “date” is used in korean not only as a romantic thing, you can go on date with your mom or friend, like a meet up. So he was telling about it. 2) grabbing thighs is normal in Korea and some Asian countries, it is not sexual. Two close friends can touch each other, it is skinship. Google it :) and lastly I do not live in Korea, but in my countries (I have lived half of my life in Russia and half in Azerbaijan) we have some radio stations who mostly put foreign music, including American and European. But we also have majorities of radio stations where local music is the main part. We are more introduced to American music, rather than other countries(kpop too). I was so happy to hear some kpop songs on our local radio

There are multiple ways to say cute in Korean, but I typically use 귀여워 which is a more casual way of saying. You’d pronounce it like ‘gwi yeo weo’ I think. You can also add a 요 at the end of it to make it a more formal version (standard i think). All it adds is a ‘yo’ at the end. Also, 하지마 (ha-ji-ma) means something like don’t or stop it. 쩔어 (jjeoro) pretty much means dope.

0:33 I really hope the stress from your work doesn’t become too much. Please whatever you do put your mental health first - certainly put it before uploading videos. It truly is a very stressful time right now (and as I understand especially more so for you) so only do things that distract you and bring you relief/happiness
4:30 In Korean the dictionary form for cute is 귀엽다, pronounced kwi-yop-da (I’ve taken a wee bit liberty with the transcription so beware it is not the official romanisation). However a lot of the time this word is used mainly as 귀여워 (kwi-yo-wo) so it does sound a bit like the English “cute”
6:07 Hahaha expect a lot of BTS feeding each other as you watch more personality-based content
9:30 I think it’s different for each member. In their live streams they often get asked what are they listening to and everybody gives different answers. I dunno whether American music is super listened to in Korean (they do have a lot of their own content), however, I can tell you that in my country American music does get huge amounts of radio play and is quite widespread
13:45 As a person who has spend quite a bit of time trying to learn foreign languages (and even got somewhere with some) I strongly believe the best way is to have constant exposure like watch movies, TV series, TH-camrs etc. Honestly, that really helps with hearing comprehension and overall understanding of the language
Truly hope you’re feeling alright despite everything going on right now. Fighting💜💜

Ah, I've been watching your music reactions for a while now and while they were great, I have also been waiting for the moment that you would discover their personalities while they are not performing. They are such crackheads and a brotherhood that's just incredibly well balanced and I think you'll find that many of their songs' lyrics actually do reflect how they live as people and brothers. (I mean, you listened to Begin and I think that did leave an impression.)
I would love to watch you discover their bond and crackhead-ness more! I would recommend watching the Habits-series for each of the members. :)
Also, as many others have mentioned, yeah. Skinship, skinship, skinship. You just gotta get used to it. Touching is different in Korea. Male friends just do that a lot to each other and it's a common sight to see some of the members snuggling up to each other to take a nap or just to be close. I think the fact that they are living together and that they came together at such a young age also contributes to that close bond (I mean, Jungkook was like 14 when he joined and as it is common in Korea, the older members do feel responsible for the younger members and take care of them).
Lastly, don't wanna downplay their English skills or the efforts they put into learning English and all but this was 2018 and while they did understand a good amount of English, in this interview (14:01) they also used a translator (you can see the cables and the devices in their ears). I think they still have a translator with them for most interviews now if RM isn't translating for them. But as Suga once said in a V-live, their English is good enough to understand when people talk shit about them (which, unfortunately, still happens way too often).

Taehyung still did a LOT of fanservice with Jungkook after that imagination statement which clearly gives away that it wasn't intended for the shippers.
Also, if he really knows the toxicity of shipper fandom and is tired of them now that much that he had to make a statement (he obviously supported shipping, in a fun way, in 2018 when he said to a taekooker that taekook is the best unit) he won't just comment just after few days that "Jungkook is sleeping next to me".

First and foremost, I wanted to say that as a respiratory care practitioner, seriously, thank you, for your work with making ventilators! I exclusively work with COVID-19 patients in the ICU and we've been so lucky that we have a good supply of ventilators in our hospital (for now).
Second, don't sweat about doing crack videos! I don't actually watch too many of them, so watching you react to them exposes me to them for the first time as well, which is fun! You do you, whatever it may be! We'll be here!

Jimin is a magnet, EVERYONE touches him. His members, other idols, interviewers and he's generally very reciprocal and open to affection. Just don't be a dick when you interact with them and you'll probably find yourself hugging him, he's very easy to get along with. It might be that in Korea, too, it's much more accepted for men to be as physical with their friends as women tend to be. Girls will hold hands, cuddle, hang off each other and I think that's generally what it is for bts too. RM, Jin, and Suga are the ones that seem to like their personal space the most, it's not common that you will see them initiating any prolonged contact outside of making a joke or consoling someone. Taehyung and JK seem to feed off physical affection the most, I think Taehyung especially because he gets so so nervous in interviews and he tends to go through phases where he's really depressed and little things will set him off and he'll just start crying so in those times when he's more 'sensitive' are the times you will see Jimin being overly affectionate.
Edit: Also a lot of these videos highlight, elongate and take things out of context when if you just watched the video straight up, it's not really as big of a deal as it's made out to be.

Hey you're smart don't put yourself down! You pick up on a lot of things really easily and I love your comments on things. BTS are indeed smart guys sometimes but trust me after being a fan for 7 years they are not smart about everything lol. There are different types of intellegence. They do understand a bit of English but often there are translators in these videos that you don't see translating the interviewer's questions so they're not really understanding everything being said to them, except for RM.
I'm glad you noticed Jin is funny, I think they're all funny in their own ways but Jin is indeed a great humourist I love his jokes so much. When he talks about his handsomeness, you should keep in mind he's obviously playing up a narcissistic character for entertainment he's not that self centered.
Really looking forward to more videos like this seeing you getting to know the guys better!

I loved your reaction. It's fun to see someone watching them for the first time. I actually got into BTS through a reality show, American Hustle, because I watch Korean tv programs, and heard their music after loving their personas. The culture of Korea does include a lot more touching of same sex than we are used to seeing in America and traditionally the youngest feeds the oldest first and their meals in general tend to be what we would call family style. At Korean BBQs, usually the youngest, or maknae, cooks for their elder brothers, hyungs, or sisters, unnies or noonas.
Yoongi is a whole nother topic but you're right he is a thinker but also a bit introverted and probably had the roughest life before joining what he thought was going to be a rap group. So I think he struggles more with the idea of being an "idol".
If you like watching funny videos (and who doesn't need them these days) you should check out a series called BTS Dubbed. They're badly dubbed BTS clips and kinda iconic at this point. Since you've only seen interviews so far you might want to just check those out. Here's the link to the one with the puppies: th-cam.com/video/8oXN7EB1u3Y/w-d-xo.html

4:30 "Is cute...?" Yes! Cute is 귀여워, which is pronounced like, kyi-uh-woh... I don't know how to write it in English, that's close though haha
Your face when the interviewer tried to say 안녕하세요... so funny lmao
Fun fact: 쩔어 (jjeoreo) is like, 'dope', and is actually the name of their song "Dope" in Korean
I know you're struggling, but you look like you're in good spirits right now. Hope you're staying safe!! 건강이 조심하세요~ 고마워요!

I totally understand the need to watch lighter BTS videos to relax if your work is more stressful these days. You're doing a very important job!!! This older compilations are very funny and a good way to get introduced to the guys personalities, I'm sure Army would direct you to the best ones if you ask. Watching their reality show (Run BTS) episodes on the V app is a sure way to watch their funny and competitive side too, they're on episode 97...
The guys are super close to each other so that kind of skinship is nothing to some of the things we've seen on their Bantan b0mbs on BANGTANTV, Run BTS or Bon Voyage (that's their travel show, since 2016 they've gone to the North of Europe, Hawai, Malta and New Zealand just last year). All seven of them share a close, loving bond. About Namjoon, his main ship is not Jimin but Jin 'cause they're very close, dorky friends, the so called Wings of Bangtan, and act very cute together, but beware 'cause looking for BTS ships is like opening a can of worms, you won't believe the tons of content available...

Sarcastic, smartass, introverted around people you don't know but crazy and weird around people we're comfortable with and you'd do anything for the people you love. And he became my bias with his song "The Last" that talks about his struggles with depression and anxiety which I also deal with.

  • @ryu4ever

Korean men are like that, very touchy hahahaha. I worked in Hyundai and Koreans were sooooooo touchy, and in that moment I understand is a cultural thing. In kpop the touchy thing is like... MORE evident cuz the industry have something called "Fanservice" that fans really love it and all the groups have to do (too much or very little, it depends of the person). Also, there are groups that do fanservice like they really don't want and it is obvious, but with Bangtan is very spontaneous and at this point they just do it not as Fanservice, but as a thing they are used after 10 years of living together.
In this video you saw Jimin is always the most touchy, but also Taehyung, Jungkook and Hobi, then we have Jin and at the end Namjoon and Yoongi, who are not that touchy ^~^ I hope this help u to understand it ^~^

It's so funny to see you react to this, yes please do more between the proper music reactions, there's so much stuff! Both these crack videos as well as Run BTS show etc. And yes Seokjin is hilarious, and even if sometimes you don't understand the joke itself (as often it's korean wordplay) his unique laughter and the others reactions will still crack you up :D Hobi as well is such a joy to watch, and well they all are crackheads and have funny moments - just wait till you see Yoongi loose it properly ;D
Also about the intimacy - as others have said already yeah this was nothing when you have seen them slapping each others asses and sleeping on top of each other. But also the norms are different in Korea regarding intimacy between male friends, and they haven't said anything about their sexualities so we dont know if they are gay/bi/straight/whatever, that they keep private. But they love each other very much and aren't afraid to say so nor show it. I mean you heard "Friends" by vmin :D
But yes there are so many ship videos, but minjoon (Namjoon/Jimin) is not actually the most popular one. And shipping is quite sensitive topic in the fandom, as there are some fans who strongly oppose it and some shippers who perhaps take it too far.
