This was a great, informative video with really good delivery. I spent so long in EQ2, years! I jumped over from EQ to EQ2 when it first launched after beta testing it and I'm glad to see it's still fondly viewed by people today.
I'm kinda new to the game & I made an Iksar Brigand. Pretty unorthodox but he is effective. Roll what you will have fun playing. Lots of interesting combos out there waiting to be made.
Iksars definitely make great tanks! That's a great combo. In the end the difference is minimal but for a new player things like tracking and aura vision work well. But pretty much it doesn't reaaaallly matter what race you pick
But also brigands have a tank stance so it will be a good choice. But for iksar their tankiness comes from stamina, he regen, and physical resistance so that works well for brigand too

Most of the minor buffs are irrelevant (like crafting bonuses, and even the ability stat ones). Don't let those influence your choice of race or class. Also, making a wood elf rogue negates the advantage of tracking. Pick a class that doesn't gain that ability normally.
The speed abilities like Kerra comes back really quickly and I use it literally every dungeon at least once. The sprint power use reduction makes it usable. I can reach 140% movement speed in combat.
Slow fall, safe fall, sneak movement speed increase, barbarians stun blocker, teleporting to your team when your tinker is down, aura vision to see which enemy is the healer or the caster. Literally all of these things matter.
holy veeshan! the EQ2 character models look so awful lol. i think i have plastic action figures from 1970 that look better. animations are pretty decent. but EQ1 models look 1000% better wtf happened
Haha yeah. They have just upgraded to Directx11 recently for clients and servers so I believe this signals and upgrade to graphics. The biggest problem was the player base is an aging community of baby boomers and Silent Generation. Their computers were not really the best as they are all on fixed incomes. But as that player base is literally dying off, the game has needed to move into the new world. They got comfortable and i think honestly maintenance mode. But the game is being given new light and it is really taking off again
@@AntizarkGaming ya im considering trying the game for the first time on that Origins server. but wow those character models are hard to accept. Some look decent as you pointed out. Do we know how fast the expansions will be? I do not enjoy the superfast easymode 2 month expansions on the EQ1 TLP, so im hoping for something slower on Origins?

Arasai do not have a timestamp, they are at 11:40, half way through Iksar.

As long as they are a caster race you are fine. The main difference is your home city at that point
