Try sandpaper on a good fingerboard it might change a bit. The tech deck is obviously harder to do tricks on bc it’s 4$compared to 100$. Keep up the great content dude 👍🏻

It might not feel consistent if you are used to foam. It’s just a personal preference 😅
I'am fingerboarding for over 20 years and I recently switched from grip to foam. Damn.. it feels like cheating. Its awesome.

Sandpaper starts off grippy but it wrecks my finger tips then after it’s broken in it loses grip. I’m definitely ordering the foam tape I never have before

I have the tech deck fingerboard so my grip tapes are the sandpaper one
Theres different types of (sandpaper) grip like grit and tech deck tape is pretty slippery while mob is a lot more grippy, its more of a personal preference because theres pros that use skate grip/ sandpaper tape!
Well you were also using a tech deck🤣 i sometimes use actual skateboard grip on fingerboards cus they are insaley grippy and you can have clear grip

My fingers get burnt off just holding skate grip I can't imagine fingerboarding on it
Sand grip is better when I the foam grip my fingers hurt alot

I used to grip my tech decks with leftover skateboard grip when I was kid. Terrible idea would not suggest it lol. But this was before foam grip was even an option.

Well, it depends on the style your doing, if you want to do darkslides, the teck deck is the best, if you want the best grip foam will do it. It really depends

Ive been fingerboarding for over 10 years and I actually just got back into “sandpaper griptape.” I have to admit i do change my more often than I’d like but it feels better for me because I don’t like riptape or fbs tape. 😬
Only thing that I use sandpaper grip for is darkslides
Note: The sand paper grip is a plastic deck Ma king it harder to pop that is prob why it wasn’t as consistent with the sand paper grip
I am not a pro finger boarder but I like the sand grip tape more but the foam tape is really great too.😁
I’m a beginner and I’m still using sandpapar grip tape it’s hard sometimes but it’s kind of easy

Bro my first finger board had PAPER STICKER griptape and ngl the ollie i did were fire cuz the “grip tape” was hella sticky like there was no glue but it would just stick a bit

Honestly I like the sandpaper but techdeck grip wears out way to quick and isn’t nice for very long. Foam doesn’t let me do trick but I recently got a proper fingerboard after not using any for a while
How does your grips look so clean and stay for so long
Keep it clean by using tape and it stays for long if you get yourself a case or something to store it in instead of leaving it in your pocket all day
But also the foam grip has to be good foam I had this bit of foam grip and i actually prefer the sandpaper I have over it. Later on I got a wooden board which came with foam grip and that one was so much grippier

Id say that sandpaper is superior only for darkslides. Foam is better for everything else.
Alex once said it’s the person using the fingerboard not the fingerboard so if that’s true it doesn’t matter what grip tape you have

as i a 6 month experienced 12 yo and with sand paper griptape user, sand griptape is better in my opinion though

People really need to try silicone grip tape actually unreal
foam grip is just to easy to do tricks. Sand paper grip on the other hand has more realism like how much pressure you use.
Make a fingerboard out of sandpaper or foam griptape
U can tell a difference between them dude but yeah been ripping sand 90s till can't get a good darkslide in with none sand

Real skateboards should have foam griptape in my opinion
fingers n the bottom of shoes are different. Foam is more “grippier” for fingers but not shoes
Yeah, your ass will slip from the board, there is a better one though its rubber griptape, it's grippy as a griptape, and also less destructive, making your shoes last longer, downside is it isn't really noticed and popular, even though it exist some skaters still prefers griptape

Sandpaper is better but lasts like no time compared, people also do terrible jobs gripping their board so it usually looks bad
Sandpaper in my experience has been way more responsive and foam doesn't grip as well
In my opinion,~ Sandpaper is more like a real skateboard. I got foam grip tape and it doesn't feel as magical in my opinion. I like the cheap tech decks because they look more like real skateboards.
That being said it's amazing that something as much as 5$ can be just as enjoyable as a 500$ game console. I stopped playing videogames because fingerboarding is a way better hobby/meditation. And it's kind of like skateboarding especially when you're in the zone.
tricks with regular griptape or foam tape there is no difference in consistency with tricks i used regular techdeck grip for years yeah i switched to foam tape but the consistency part is you the one fingerboarding not the griptape yeah foam tape you feel great on when shredding but consistency comes from practice not changing grip i been fingerboarding since the 90’s give me any board i’ll be the same as i was if i were using regular grip or foam it don’t make you better what makes you consistent & better is practice

I feel like this isn’t the grip tape so much as the shape of the tech deck brand I can’t do a trick on a tech deck anymore but I’m pretty consistent with my other board

I used real skate grip tape for years. My hands were used to it since I played guitar and it never lost grip🤷♂️foam grip is still really great though
