I'm a 28 year old dad, ex skateboarder that doesn't want to get hurt skating, but wants the satisfaction of it, so I picked this up (also I was too impatient to learn to fingerboard as a kid). And Ive been having a blast, but the Ollie has been impossible for me, the leg trick has helped the muscle memory for the "grip" so much!! Thanks man!!

Another tip for the Ollie is to after you think you mastered the Ollie on you thigh before you try an Ollie on a hard surface try it on a mattress or a soft surface it helped me a ton.

A thing that helped me getting the ollie down was do it step by step, break it down in a smooth motion bit by bit.
also try doing the motion on a wall, it helps.
