My favorite usage of my graphics tablet (I use Huion) is that my wife no longer has a conniption fit when I edit photos due to my incessant mouse clicking. Best marriage tip ever.
Just being able to use the touch wheel to vary brush size and zoom in and out easily is my fav Wacom use when editing. Love the brush customisation you’re using here.
My favourite use for my tablet is hair retouching! I have a really nice brush set and the tablet makes it so easy to make hair look smooth and silky again :3
I did this tutorial on my XP-Pen star G640 and it worked really well. If you're on a budget, you should look into it; it's just 1/10th of the price of this Wacom.
Thanks for the video. For some reason when I turn on Pen Pressure I get a triangle with a question mark in it. I don't understand why since I have installed the latest Wacom drives.
In the Object Removal part, my spot healing brush does nothing when I apply it on the newly created blank layer. Whereas, if I unlock the background image and use the tool on it, it does remove the object. What am I missing here?
Aaron, are you able to use your Wacom tablet with Apple's new OS? I'm no longer able to. Also, years ago you told me that the tablet you use was the medium intuos pro. Is the small a good enough size to use in your opinion?
Under the keyboard I add a book, so that in desk keyboard corner is little bit above the tablet. This way tablet is located more ergonomic. Also I use tablet in mouse mode.
Go for M. With L, its hard to sync the screen, too much table real estate. Unless you are doing a lot of large scale painting, its a no. And If you have a chance to test them out before you buy, I really think you should make your mind and purchase after you do that. All the best! :)
Great tutorial Aaron. I noticed that your tablet is wired and I’m wondering if your Bluetooth stopped working after a few years just like it did on mine. (I have the exact same one and I bought it a few years back when I started seeing you using it).
Graphic tablets are definitely useful for photography, and nowadays you do not need a wacom anymore. there are plenty of brands that offer the identical quality to wacom but for a lot lower price, sometimes even improving over Wacom. Examples are Huion and XP-Pen. Wacom has been standing still and enjoying their position as solitary market leader too long, with it enjoying way too high prices as well. They have failed to innovate or adapt to the market and there is simply no point spending that much extra cash on a wacom since it wont do the job any better than other brands. Anyways, the most used thing for my drawing tablet are layer masks definitely. You can draw them infinitely more precise and faster than with a mouse.
I think I will stick with my Wacom tablets rather than buying from another Chinese company that has basically stolen the technology. Also, even if they work the same I would be surprised if they are as durable. One of my Intuos tablets has been serving on a daily basis since before these companies even existed.
@@zaugitude They did not 'steal' their technology. Touch pad technology is not patented by anyone, and was around long before Wacom. In the meantime, technology develops further and existing technologies become cheaper. Wacom could have innovated or reduced their price, but instead they pushed up their profit margins. You can watch plenty of reviews from actually artists and designers here on youtube, that arguably are a lot more dependent on their drawing tablet than us photographers, and they all seem to endorse these brands. (Also, that something is made in china does not make it bad quality, also, i'd bet that the wacoms are built in china anyways) The thought that companies in china only make cheap bad quality rip-offs is quite dated now. This might have been the case 10 years ago, but not anymore. Often they produce the same quality, if not better product for cheaper. Other examples include Huawei, Xiaomi and DJI.
Yes Sir, you can. I have a Huion Graphics Tablet that I've had for several years...(since I'm on a budget) and these same tips apply to any such device. Aaron has always used Wacom, and, from the looks of it, when he holds up the tablet and you can see the wear on the device, this might be the exact one he has been using all these years. 🤣🤓😍 Another possibility is that, since Aaron is so good at what he does, and he and his team have always provided such wonderful content, Aaron could now be sponsored by Wacom and they have compensated Phlearn to say Wacom. But, honestly, when you have a tool that you love and swear by, that's what you're going to recommend.
Great tutorial! I’m a Wacom newbie, so this info will be added to my arsenal. Thank you.
so glad to see life is still treating you and phlearn well .. could not be happier for you

I have used it mainly for work on portraits using the radial brush tool and cleanup.
Hi,
Great tutorial, as ever.
How is it though that the action couldn't be used in Ps 23? Has anyone the answer?
Where is the link to down load the brushes? thank you
At 3'50'': why don't light rain drops appear in dark areas? Thank you.
Thank you. But what do you mean by standard brush_ hard or soft round?

I'm thinking about getting one how do you find the Bluetooth does it drag

That background setup tho... love it!!

Excellent Tips, I'm split between the Wacom Intuos Pro M & New Wacom One Display right now. I have about 2 weeks before I make a decision to purchase.
Beautiful demonstration
download button on your website to download the action does not work,, screen darkens as if something is supposed to pop up and nothing happens
These tips work for most tablets, not only Wacoms.

I don't see where I can get the tools. What am I missing. I love my wacom tablet but don't use the pen pressure, so I will now try that.
Couldn't get you.
QUESTION: What size Wacom Intuos Pro would you recommend for photo editing - Small or Medium?
We recommend the small size - Aaron has been using it for years!

Do you think we could achieve the same with the iPad pro and its pressure pen ?
Pen pressure not working properly in photoshop cc 2020... Plz help me sirji
Mine is bigger and i wish it was smaller!😏🤣 Keep up the good work. 👍
Yeah, the full size tablet was a mistake.
Aaron has a tutorial on how to configure the size of the active area : th-cam.com/video/7BMtSqETvjg/w-d-xo.html
Agreed, I traded down from a large. Wasn't because of working area, but the room it takes up on my desk.
Whats the ideal size for photo retouch?
thanks your tutor phlearn. i plan buy a wacom intuos pro , could you recommend M or L size is suitable , I am graphic design. thank you.

thumbs up! cheers!
Aaron, are you still using only a small portion of the small tablet as you once recommended years ago?
what is the best tablet for around $100 for beginners
A small wacom tablet will work well, like the Wacom Intuos Drawing tablet.
Many years ago Aaron recommended a small Wacom tablet for this type of work. I recommend the Wacom Intuos Drawing Tablet (small). It's about $89 cdn.
@@77dris thanks so much!
Wouldn't a blend mode be able to take care of the rains opacity between dark and light areas?
i like to use the tablet to draw my layer mask in some cases.
Im a PC guy when i uses pen pressure PS freezes . Help me please
