Dave is awesome with his reviews. Very professional. Scenes are edited very well. I'm considering buying a 2014 or 2015 Impala. I just rented one during a trip out of town and fell in love with it. It is indeed a great car.
I bought a used 2014 impala 2LT just 5 months ago. So far I love it. I drives beautiful, and is a head turner. Between me renting a brand new 2015 impala, and watching Dave's review 5 months ago about the 2014, I just had to buy one. I'm glad I did. Thanks again Dave.
I have the 6 cylinder, the Impala 2LT, which is the middle model just below the top model LTZ. I bought mine from Enterprise car sales (rental) for a real good deal. Minus the chrome strip on the side door, the 2LT has everything else the LTZ has. I would never buy a car this big with a 4 cylinder engine. I'd feel ridiculous. At a dealer, I test drove a 2015 impala with the 4 cylinder engine and found the performance to be just "so-so". It's like buying "just the look" of a car that looks like it can zip down the highway, but not having the actual feel. But if you dont care about power, then I guess a 4 cyl would be okay for you. I'm a 6 cyl guy. The 6 cylinder is powerful, and not bad on gas either. It gets 19 city, 29 highway. I've had my silver 2014 impala for 8 months now (bought it used), and have not had any trouble with it. I can honestly say that I enjoy driving it single everyday, and get compliments all the time.
beautifull car, just home from 5week holiday in orlando ,i hired one of these for 4 weeks and did 4120miles av 26.1 mpg, loved it wish they sold them in the UK.
this car is sharp, I have always heard of the name Impala but did not appreciate it until I rented one back in 2003 and then in 2006 and then brought a 2010 in 2011 although they have been called boring dull cars I love the pick up and smooth ride of this big boys. My Co-worker just brought a 2014 Infinti G37 and loves it but one day I drove her some were in my Impala and she stated that car was smooth and seat were so comfortable. I am glad GM finally came out with a new body style Test drove the 2014 and that will be my next car
It should have been RWD for better balance and a more exciting drive. AWD is unnecessary. It adds weight and complexity and extra maintenance and reduces fuel economy.
Dave - Really enjoy your reviews. I'm currently in the market for a new car as I'm moving back to the U.S. from Germany and whatever vehicle I'm thinking about I check your uploads first to see if you've covered it. Thanks for all the work and great reviews you put together.
They do that for calibration purposes. Everything is heavily reliant upon electronics nowadays instead of analog and mechanical measurements, so that is one way the car knows that everything is working like it should
I just got this color Impala and the web pics and videos do this car little justice. I can't stop getting compliments. Hopefully next year Chevrolet decides to throw in automatic folding mirrors.
That color is actually called White Diamond Tricoat. It is a very nice looking color, but if you get any rock chips, the paint is VERY difficult to match. I should know, my Silverado is the same color.
Their is only 3 TH-cam personalities that I will listen to when it comes to vehicle reviews. They're all unique in their own way, but here is my list: Car Tech with Brian Cooley EveryMan Driver with Dave Ericson SaabKyle04 with Kyle Lindsey. They keep it interesting, simple for everyone to understand and enjoy, and are always knowledgable. Thanks to all 3 of them.
I really want to believe the American car makers (mostly GM and Chrysler) have got with it and upped their game, but I just can't get over the inertia of thesubpar stuff we've built for the past 2-3 decades. Makes me incredibly gun-shy about getting onboard with the newer offering like this one, as much as I really want to. By all rights this looks like a great car. Dave, you mentioned projected fuel efficiency but didn't mention your real-world MPG as you usually do. How did that come out?
Seems a bit much but you do get a lot for your money, I'm just not sure if it's worth it for the chevy brand.....Maybe I will wait a few years and get one for about half the current purchase price!!!... Very nice review I'm a fan!!!
Love the look on the outside of the car. Chevy nailed it there. But the interior? While it is very functional and has easy to read and use screens it looks dated already. Too much molded cheap plastics and chrome for my taste. Other than that negative the car is packaged well with lots of space and this Impala drives really good. Smooth and quiet. The handling is not bad either for such a large American car.
I've never been to keen on the Chevrolet bow tie. I know it's an iconic brand label, but what if, and just hear me out, but what if they did just like they did on the side of this amazing Impala, and just spell the brand name "Chevrolet" on the rear trunk and front fascia. Gold is tacky, so incorporate the gleaming silver just like they did on the Impala writing. I really do love this car. Chevrolet did such a fine job in detailing and power output.
Hi Dave, I really like your channel but I miss the feel of some of your other recent reviews like the Civic Hybrid. I felt you were more balanced on that and older reviews and I miss the Everyman 30 gallon container.
Oh I am sure they will. I love the new looks of the GM products but they are a bit pricey. I will hold out a year anyway to buy on any vehicle you can pick up a year old one used with some low miles and the value is already decreased enough to afford it.
@2:39 any notice that it say Dexos on the oil cap? Once again GM is requiring you use this OIL they produced specifically for their new GM vehicles if not you could damage the engine and reduce engine performance. Once again you are forced to you their service departments for your vehicle's servicing.
The new 2014 Impala will not be on rental lots, the 2013 Impala style will carry over to 2014 for fleet (rental, police, taxi) only. Chevrolet does not want this Impala to have a rental car feel.
I have never seen a review of the impala with the 4cyl engine. must be for fleet sales. wouldn't be enough engine for this size of car, and the depreciation would be steep
I bought a brand new 2017 Chevy Impala a year ago and only have 9600 miles on it,, I love the car,, if I want to move stuff or take my kayak out I'll just use my Dodge Ram,, who needs a SUV, ,, (aka) mom Mobile,,🤣🤣
Well they need to be their car designs were getting to bland a out dated. Plus to keep up with the Germans they needed to make their cars more appealing. Ford has been bringing the european designs to american and released some models that have been overseas first like the Fiesta and C-Max (2013+ Fusion & Escape designs). Plus with The German brands being VW, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti, M Benz, Smart, BMW, Rolls royce, Bentley, Ducati, Porsche, and Mini they have a lot of competition.
Dam the SE is around 36k with only a 4cylinder engine. Come on Chevy you trying to beat people out there money. Besides that the car looks fantastic great design.
Test drove a ltz. Wasn't impressed. Maybe it was just the car that wasn't taken care of but it drove loose, the power wasn't responsive, and made a whining noise. Car had 50k.
I like the 2014 chevy impala and i got to say it is a very nice vehicle and is roomy and luxury nice features. The only thing i wish it had was a full spare tire. I had a 03 Mitsubishi and it was roomy and spacious and it had a full size tire instead of a dough-nut
anyone looking at a full size sedan owes it to themselves to test drive one of these. AWD is completely useless the weight of the engine on the FWD makes for exceptional driving in the snow. all around car i am glad i went with the LTZ. got my 14 with 9k miles on it for 28000!!
Its just a shame that Chevy vehicles are peeking up to Buicks/Cadillac and etc price tag level I remember when Chevy vehicles were affordable not anymore :(
That car has a seriously big ass. Not convinced. If I were looking for a large sedan, I'd put the Toyota Avalon at the top of the list. Who knows how reliable this Impala will be 5 years down the road? We know the Avalon is reliable.
I bet you anything they will have huge rebates by next year. That and you could get one used. This is a nice car but GM vehicles don't traditionally hold their value.
It's funny how on every 2014 Impala review there all equipped with the V-6 instead of the standard 2.5 liter four cylinder engine. Could it be because the four cylinder is way underpowered for a car this size and G.M. brass doesn't want the public to know it. Or that in order to get a six cylinder powered model you unlike the past you have to order a higher trim level that stickers the car at about 35 grand ? I invite you to go to Chevy's website and build a V-6 equipped Impala and you'll see what I mean.... sticker shock ! Good luck G.M. trying to sell what was once a good bargain car for a premium price.
Now that the car has been out for a while, this is totally true. I got a 2013 that cost half of this car and it has the same 3.6 300hp V6 with the six speed. Of course, my 9th gen doesn't look nearly as pretty as the 10th gen.
This car is nice but, to expensive for a non luxury sedan and only 21 mpg. Pass I'll get the nicer, less expensive Honda Accord. Plus the Accord has 36 mpg plus an Eco button.
Resell value will kill this car. Don't know why Chevy used the same name when they will continue onwards for years selling the old model to fleets! Should've named it something else to avoid this confusion which will result in devaluation based on name alone.
Only dumb people care about depreciation. You’re going to pay a lot more for a comparable Honda or Toyota and get less.. (Accord is not as large, Avalon is almost Lexus territory). You’re going to pay higher interest, and more tax.. too. If you sell a car before it’s ten years old, you obviously hate money so depreciation doesn’t matter. After ten years old.. the Honda or Toyota may be worth 7000$ instead of the $4000 an Impala is.. but you will have still lost more money. What’s even better is to buy the Impala a year old like I did. Half sticker price with only 7500 miles. Now it’s no contest.. I’ll easily beat those cars for cost of ownership especially since I’m planning to keep it 20 years. No reasoning it shouldn’t last.. it replaced a 20 year old GM vehicle. And if you look around a rental lot today.. it isn’t Fords Chevys and Chryslers anymore. It’s VWs and Toyotas.. because each are desperately trying to increase market share. How long are people going to be fooled into paying more for them used when they are also flooding the lease return market and have each had major hiccups in quality?
+Dustin Barton Boring? Any more boring than a Fix or Repair Daily (Ford) or cheesily built Chryslers? Any different from Japanese cars in the same market?

The first time I've liked an impala in decades.
❤
this car beautiful so many people turn their heads and look amazed .whever I pull up in my impala
Pretty good review. I've driven an LTZ model pretty much identical to this one and i'd highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a larger sedan
i bought one 2 weeks ago ,, and i love it more and more everyday :D
I bought mine 4 months ago and love it too this car is beautiful!!
Gabriela Valencia how is it in the snow and on gas?
it's amazing ! , i used to have a Nissan sunny 2005 , and i swear it's almost the same even better in the gas use
Do you still have it lol
@@nylahburns9767 the impala is going smooth 👌
Thanks for providing a good thorough review unlike the fast lane guys who wasted time showing me weirdos doing yoga and other useless junk.
vexx506 Weirdos doing yoga and other useless junk? Maybe that audience wants that?
Dave is awesome with his reviews. Very professional. Scenes are edited very well. I'm considering buying a 2014 or 2015 Impala. I just rented one during a trip out of town and fell in love with it. It is indeed a great car.
This car proves GM can make a nice well built car when they want to.

Good review Dave.Chevy is on a roll lately great styling again like the Corvette and now the Impala, Chevy is back in the game.
Those new impalas look awesome in person
Now it's even harder for me to decide what car to get. There's so many nice cars out now.
Don't buy any car. Take the bus. Save your money. You'll need it for health care premiums.
Tom Corcoran lol
They do that for calibration purposes. Everything is heavily reliant upon electronics nowadays instead of analog and mechanical measurements, so that is one way the car knows that everything is working like it should
The space near the donut is very helpful. I always find it hard to hide the booze and other items.
@thomas4776, I'm with you... Chevy is moving in the right direction - Dave
Reviews very often ignore how the transmission feels. Does this car hsve a manual Mode?
yes. no paddles. Just + and - buttons on shifter knob.
thank you that was perfect. That vehicle is perfect for me . I currently have an 09 malibu
That's MSRP. GM is always having sales and Chevy dealers make deals. My 2013 Silverado was $44K and I paid nowhere near that for it.
Those 2014 models are more equipped than the 2017 till 2020 models
I just got this color Impala and the web pics and videos do this car little justice. I can't stop getting compliments. Hopefully next year Chevrolet decides to throw in automatic folding mirrors.

4 cyclinder in the impala is a waste of money, get the v6 period

Thanks to Holden and Opel GM is bringing their styling to the US.

Great review and I love these impalas.
I own own one. Love it
Great car! I test drove it, but end up going with the Cadenza based on the luxury features, but this car was a close 2nd.
Hi Dave, I really like your channel but I miss the feel of some of your other recent reviews like the Civic Hybrid. I felt you were more balanced on that and older reviews and I miss the Everyman 30 gallon container.
Honda accord on the front, audi on the back
i agree.... can't blame GM tho... great class leaders are always copied....
Absolutely!
it's a nice update but I dont know... screams rental still. Nice review as usual

You can buy Dexos oil anywhere, numbnuts.
It’s like Ford. “Oh no... where will I ever find Mercon V?” At every Pep Boys. Lulz.
I like how he said "Impowla" lol
Nonetheless - Great video!
great review!
41K, probably explains why I've never seen one on the road yet. Plus I doubt you will see sub 30K models on dealer lots.
David Erickson what kinda car do you currently drive?
Damn. It looks great... But... 64 is still better :)
Nobody thought so in 1978 when they were $50 demolition derby specials.
The new 2014 Impala will not be on rental lots, the 2013 Impala style will carry over to 2014 for fleet (rental, police, taxi) only. Chevrolet does not want this Impala to have a rental car feel.
Not sure if it's the camera but the paint on the bumpers doesn't match the rest of the body.
Looks real nice in white.
I like it .. 5 Star for the car , 5 Star for Channel .
I have never seen a review of the impala with the 4cyl engine. must be for fleet sales. wouldn't be enough engine for this size of car, and the depreciation would be steep

Wondering if you still the car and your experience with it since it's been you posted.
Is there a conventional lock on the or in the trunk area?
Nope, Remote and button on dash open the trunk fully on my 2019. I don't miss using a key.
The SS is not an Impala. The SS will be a rear wheel drive based on the GM's Holden Commodore from Australia.
Ugly steering wheel is a nice nod to the ugly steering wheel in the new S class.
I thought I was the only one who thought that steering wheel was terribly designed:-)

Very Nice, but for $35k+ and only 21MPG, I'd go for something a tad smaller, midsize, and $10K less with 30+MPG..
My parents got one, and I've never sat in or driven anything nicer than that Impala. Maybe I will be able to afford one used in 2035?
Dam the SE is around 36k with only a 4cylinder engine. Come on Chevy you trying to beat people out there money. Besides that the car looks fantastic great design.
the SS will be coming at the end of year, don't worry, it will be 40K as well
What‘s the color?
Test drove a ltz. Wasn't impressed. Maybe it was just the car that wasn't taken care of but it drove loose, the power wasn't responsive, and made a whining noise. Car had 50k.

"oh BLANK!" holders. Wonder how many watching this video had no clue what he was really saying? Very nice car.
My type of vehicle. :) nice vid
I feel stupid, that does make sense.
That car has a seriously big ass. Not convinced. If I were looking for a large sedan, I'd put the Toyota Avalon at the top of the list. Who knows how reliable this Impala will be 5 years down the road? We know the Avalon is reliable.
Nice car

You must have some intense leg training to get those huge calfs!
Mancrushing on Dave's calfs.
Yup
great looking car
Go check out the Cadenza.
'96 Impala SS is where it stops for me
Good for you.
See you in my rear view mirror.
Nothing screams "rental fleet" like Chevrolet
Bullerias this doesn’t scream rental car at all......... especially being an LTZ
This car is nice but, to expensive for a non luxury sedan and only 21 mpg. Pass I'll get the nicer, less expensive Honda Accord. Plus the Accord has 36 mpg plus an Eco button.
I want.
that is one amazing looking rental car...
This is not a review; it's a showcase. Unless of course this is a perfect car which I highly doubt.
Considering they pay him to make the reviews I don't think they would allow him to point out the negatives.
ill take a 96 impala ss over this or even an 08 impala ss more torque
