Okay i know John defeating hal with 13 rings at the end is kinda stupid but hear me out…since the green lantern rings strength is purely based off will power, what if Hal’s will to carry out his evil plan was not strong enough due to his real self fighting an internal war Parralax. So because John knew he was in the right he had no doubt and more “will” behind every action making him stronger. 13 x 1 is equivalent to 1 x 13
I have to agree. Hal would never willingly hurt his friends. Parralax was in control on the outside, while Hal fought desperately from within.

John Stewart is the only Green Lantern whose will once EXCEEDED a green power ring's capability. Not even Hal Jordan has ever done that.

To be fair, imagine some guy sneaks past all of your security systems and shows up in your base that is literally orbiting in space, clearly whoever this guy is has some means to travel through space and some ability to evade security so its not too strange to assume this might be a threat, still dumb to not ask questions until later but understandable why they would immediately start swinging

Easy, that is a party of his storyline. He dies as Parallax, but maybe they should let him make a lot more mass murders.

It is because we are humans. We love sucking our own dicks and we imagine we 'd somehow be the race with the most willpower in the damn universe,despite there existing entire planets of warriors,or aliens who had to fight endless wars for centuries.But yeah,somehow we have the most willpower.
If I remember correctly, it has something to do with Earth being an important nexus for a lot of different multiverses. That's also why Earth has so many heroes. They're like an immune system, protecting an otherwise vulnerable planet.

I might not understand it, but I dont think having more than one ring of the same type makes it more powerful since its power is based off of your will right?
Well it gives you more power to use, though its usually only plot convenience, if a ring runs out of power or not.
It would only really serve to extend the time someone could fight and how wasteful they could afford to be with their energy. Either the energy used for anything they did would be split between all the rings or it would draw from one ring until it was depleted of power and then swap over to a different one.
It's better when a character has multiple rings of different types instead of the same kind. They have some unique abilities, can sometimes buff each other and sometimes mitigate each other's weaknesses/side effects, and allow a character to fight effectively even with a compromised emotional state.

@@ExtrnalSorce2 Yeah. Blue has healing powers and Green can make constructs. When in proximity to each other Blue amplifies the power of Green (like 2x) and Green enables Blue to form constructs (normally it can't). Wear both and a character gets constantly boosted and can heal themself and others.

I'm so glad that I didn't bother to watch the actual movie. I should have known that some corporate big wig wrote this mess after how Ganthet looked, much less what happened to him. At least with the Bruce Timm universe thing made more sense. Can you imagine the kids growing up, thinking that this is the normal canon? This should be titled "An Elseworld Incident" or something. Taking the Emerald Twilight storyline and turning it into this... I realise that after Justice League Dark, DC has abandoned the DCU Animated movie series and is opting for "the Tommorowverse" and this appears to be part of their one-shot stand alone movies. But still it's insulting to Jordan, Rayner and many Lantern Corps fans.

Why would a Guardian board a vessel and head to Earth when they can move, based on thought, throughout the universe. Then it crash lands, sounds like Abin Sur, finding Hal Jordan. Both of these origins are inconsistent with the true origins. A Green Lantern was killed then the ring through the link with Mogo searched for a host and found Hal. As for John a Guardian came to Earth found Hal and had him at his side when he gave the ring to John Stewart.
I don't know why exactly this bugs me off so much when it is within my ability to suspend disbelief in many other media, but there being three different *species* of intelligent beings that are all indistinguishable from each other really irks me. Especially since kryptonians are also cannon here and so there's actually at least 4 entirely unrelated identical species. Like that physically pains me for some reason. I mean, even that sh*tty super mario live action movie had their dinosaur humans have vague reptilian features that seperated them from normal humans.
Star Trek logic. All races were actually seeded from the same bipedal ancient race, and all you see are just small evolutionary differences.

This movie's plot is oddly convoluted.
Why does so much inconsistencies and inaccuracies surround the Green Lanterns? It doesn’t have to be. Green Lanterns abilities and capabilities are well documented. People who write about them simply have to read.
What about a story that cuts all the Green Lanterns off from the central battery so whatever power you have in the ring and the power battery is all each Green Lanterns have. I suggest this act triggers a default sending all Green Lanterns to Mogo as this act would indicate Oa is under attack. On Mogo, the Guardian would brief Green Lanterns of the situation. I assume the Honor Guard would be left behind to defend the central battery given the honor guard rings do not require recharge. I would assume a select group of Green Lanterns would be sent to Oa to join the Honor Guard.
So this is a spin on Emerald Twilight?

replacing Kyle with John and basically re-writing the entire Parallax plot was such bullshit. I refuse to acknowledging this movie exists and I LIKE Parallax as a villain (the slowly losing his mind due to tragedy and the effect of parallax brewing inside him without his knowledge and turning him into a genocidal maniac not even the justice league could beat) but for those going "how could green arrow defeat him so easily?" he doesn't. in the comics the entire justice league fights Hal and the only way he died was sacrificing himself in the end into the sun to regenerate it (which is a much cooler vilian death and one that redeems the character in the last second)
also his relationship with Kyle completely erased... if they ever bring Hal back how would they even explain it because Kyle was the one who did it in the comics
the only way they could redeem this mess of a rewrite is if they make a really thought out movie where Hal is Spectre and do a good job with it

Seriously why does DC even TRY with its live action. they JUST cant do it. DC does best as ANIMATED MOVIES. they should stick with that and start releasing this stuff in theatres! honestly compared to MCU live action, these DCAU movies are fking awesome and I would pay good money to see them in BIG SCREEN at a theatre.
The fact the ring needs to be charged is the stupidest thing ever, they may as well be charged by feeling the emotion associated with the ring color rather then literally charging it like a phone
