As they said in this video, many guitarist's play from their head, Gary played from his heart. That is the difference between many good guitarist's and the great guitarist's. Guys like Steve Vai or Yngwie Malmsteen are brilliant technicians on the guitar, but I have seen them both live, and after 2 or 3 songs it gets kind of boring. Then there are guys like Gary, David Gilmore, Michael Schenker, who can play one note and move you to tears. I saw Gary live twice, once backing up RUSH on the Victims of the future tour, and once in a small club in Chicago on the Wild Frontier tour, and he was sensational! So blessed to have seen him live twice, one of the all time great guitarists in rock history.
I like what Gary Moore said about Jake E. Lee, it just shows one great guitar player can appreciate another great guitar player. Both Legends in their situation like what Bob Daisley said.
I miss Gary, I still got the blues for you...edit: good interview it reminds me of his song "Pictures of the Moon" ...I was into Gary moore, More "lol" than i was into SRV at the time, when they were both alive...Rest in peace to both :(....
I was fortunate to meet both Gary and Bob together back in the 80's. It was in Belfast when they did that Emerald Isle thing he talks about here. The last show in Belfast was awesome! Also, one show (I think on that tour) Phil Lynott joined them for Lizzy covers.
these guys are so rude by interrupting Bob many many times. Just let him talk and be patience. R.I.P Gary, Philip, Jack, Lee, and Chris. Thanks Bob for giving us more insight into some of your great friends."Moore Blues for Gary - A Tribute To Gary Moore"
Great interview with bob!!! He is true rock icon! Enjoy his work especially with widow maker, rainbow, blizzard of oz! And so in agreement with bob with all this down loading , burning is something I don't do! I've been buying albums, tapes cd's since the 80's and their is nothing more enjoyable than going to a music store and picking up your copy from the bends with your hands!!!!! Rock on!!! Space ace Ron
I love Bob but he can't take credit for Gary becoming a blues player, he definitely suggested a blues album to Gary- I've heard Gary say that in interviews and it reinvigorated him musically and boosted his career. Gary started out playing blues and declined playing in bands in Belfast that were not blues because as a kid he was a purist. People still assume he was a rock guy that morphed into blues, it was the other way round but he returned to it and it shows that he was truly blues at heart. Gary could play anything, a jack of all trades and master of them all. Bob has played with some greats and people that have played with Bob have also played with one of the greats.
Exactly right on about Gary Moore which is one of the things I never liked about him throughout his entire career; he tried to be all things musically to all people; metal, hard rock, blues, etc etc and you can't be everything musically.....

Wow, Bob is like the golden goose, he kick started so many legends while still in the background. Wow.

A legend talking about another legend.
love Bob Daisley , one of my favorite bassists !!!
If the original Blizzard of Ozz band with a stayed together like a traditional Banh it would have been amazing
Even more than Billy Sheehan ?!?
Bob's such a modest guy, it's a pleasure to listen to him talk.
I met Bob once when he came to see the Band I was in. Such a nice unassuming guy & very funny. Great interview.
This man played on and wrote the greatest lyrics ever recorded on this planet on Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman.
This is a great interview! Bob Daisley has always been one of my favorite bassists, and stands as my main influence on bass, other than Billy Sheehan.
Why about Geezer Butler though
@@humanactivated1017 Both Geezer and Steve Harris are up there, as well.
Love that Eddie Trunk shouted you out for your great interview with the great Lee Kerslake.
What a brilliant interview! Gary will always be my favourite!
Even more than John Sykes ?

Gary lived Facing Stormont here in Belfast

The great Gary Moore knew who the man was, Jake E Lee! Still is of course...
I wonder if Bob would have worked with Black Sabbath
He did.
John C Butlers vocals stand out on this album ...so much passion...better than Glenn Hughes.
This bloody bloke
Chris Slade is terrible in AC/DC

What EXACTLY is your real focus and voice Gary????
He even tried his hand at a fusion/jazz-rock kinda thing briefly which was annoying because he definitely was not that kind of player.
@Alex Juarez I am a professional musician you fucking idiot.
Gary was musical in everything he did, fuck off.
Gary could play any style
