The one section that you missed was the Gatineau hills and Parks on the Quebec side that is literally minutes away for scenic drives and in the Fall the colors are breathtaking, to say the least. Great presentation and your speed of information was perfect...TY
Really enjoyed this video. Good script, images, overall flows nicely. One thing I enjoy, not really explored, is running along the multi-use path from Arboretum all the way to Parliament (and further into Gatineau if you want); it's a nice 7km + uninterrupted path for walking, biking, and running connecting you throughout the city. It's a gem. The parkways are also great in the summer and Lansdowne restaurants, markets and activities are worth exploring too. Well done.
Great video! Although bit too museum heavy in the 2nd half. I think including some hikes like Mer Bleue and other areas like Westboro and Lansdowne Park (farmer's market on Sundays) could've helped diversified the activities.
Nice video that focuses mainly on family friendly locations for the city. Some things missing from here include Lansdowne as a whole (park, bars, stadium, arena), the sporting events, concerts and festivals that take place each year here, Winterlude in the winter, Gatineau Park for hikes and cycling, some very fine dining venues, and the odd eclectic pub and cafe that we have. Obviously it's based off your personal experiences that you had with your family, and for that, it's really a quality video. Thanks :)
I live in Ottawa and even I learned some new things to do! Thanks a bunch. I'm going to share this video with my international and out-of-town college students this fall :)
Love this list of must-seas! You've really captured the fin-tastic spots that make Ottawa a pearl of a city. We would love to make your next list of "must visits" for Ottawa. Thanks for sharing!
Such a great video man, I couldn't believe that you have just under 10k subs, your content is amazing! I will definitely watch more videos on the channel, you just gained a new subscriber 🙌🏼
Una excelente guía de los lugares que no hay que dejar de visitar. Viajo este fin de mes a otawa y con ésta información me facilitas mi viaje turístico. Muchas gracias, te felicito por tu video. Saludos.
Great video with complete information. Your explaining skills are great. This is great video. No doubt OTTAWA is a great city. I enjoyed the video with great zeal. Thanks for the video. Please keep it up . This is INDERJEET SINGH from Delhi.
I highly recommend renting a bike to ride the 200kms of recreational trails around the city(Rent-a-Bike is right under the bridge in front of the Chateau Laurier), or renting a canoe, paddle boat or kayak to explore the canal at Dow's Lake. You can follow up Dow's Lake with a short walk through the Arboretum to the Agricultural Museum at the Central Experimental Farm, always a big hit with young children. For something spooky, there's the Haunted Walks through many Ottawa's landmarks.
As a non-native to Ottawa you caught a lot of the good spots. One really cool thing you missed was Dow’s lake at end of Canal which is right next to an amazing Arboretum and Agriculture Museum (a very cool thing to do with kids as they basically have a live petting zoo of farm animals most of the year). Another quick note is one of the best hidden-gem restaurants in the region is right near the Diefenbunker called The Cheshire Cat Pub or alternatively you can go into Carp and eat the yummiest of sandwiches at Alice’s Village Cafe and the have ice cream at Carp Custom Creamery.
Dows Lake was on my list but I just didn’t have enough time to get there. Thanks for all the info! Will have to add this stuff to the list for next time!
@@glasbo a cool one for you would be to come visit during open doors Ottawa - it’s crazy the Embassy’s and Government buildings you ge5 access to. Another thing you missed was The Canadian Mint (they make coins for 43 countries and the Olympic medals) and it’s just down the street from National Art Gallery:). Also there is a Bank of Canada Museum that is a free museum. And it’s not quite in Ottawa but Upper Canada Village is a really cool place to visit near Ottawa that recreates what it’s like to have lived in Canada before we were even a nation. Something neat to know is that Justin Trudeau is living in the Governor General’s cottage while the PM house is being renovated. The arboretum around the Governor Generals house is all planted by past Dignitary visitors, like John F Kennedy planted a tree there. The Mackenzie King Estate is also really cool (free to get to with shuttle, free entrance and you can also take your car). There are artifacts there from Sir. Winston Churchill gave PM Mackenzie-King. There are ruins from England and when Center Block of Parliament caught fire in 1916 and an abbey. Maybe you can tell, I think I live in a really fun city :) don’t let these ideas discourage you, you did an excellent job covering so many sights in such a short video!
This is an amazing comment! Born in Ottawa - I never would have known about these locations in Carp if it weren’t for you! Thank you in advance for my next road trip 😂😊
Ooh only been to ottawa a couple times I'm loving these things to do videos- might i suggest Guelph/ the tri city area (or Manitoulin my fav vacation spot cant recommend enough) my favourite spots are the Free art gallery, arboretum and some of the local restraunts down town
I’d really like to check out Manitoulin island. I don’t think I’ve been before.. I’d like to take the chi-cheemaun and then head across that old bridge that spins and continue up to Lake Superior. I may do a video on Guelph or the kw sometime. Thanks for watching and following along!
@@glasbo Manitoulin is gorgeous so many trails, fantastic little towns (Okay population wise Villages technically) been going up in the summer since I was little. if you go up Cup and Saucer Trail as well as Manitoulin Eco park (especially the star nights they have) are good places to check out. I would actually love to see a pow pow in person. That's something I've always wanted to do. I always get goosebumps when I hear the music. Thank you!!
Love your video and how you represented the city, which I am proudly born and love! My only constraint is you got lucky if you had a good LRT experience.. its often down and has issues… everything else is a beautiful as you pictured it! Ottawa is the best
You should add the NAC to your list for concerts, and there are many smaller art galleries strewn about. Try Mer Bleu for a nature walk, and on hot days, find some of the local beaches, too.
Please consider doing a video on "African Lion Safari"! I rode on an elephant and watched it paint pictures when I was a young child, but it felt like a fever dream!
Great video! I live here and this was a very interesting take on all the cool things that Ottawa has to offer. I will point out though that Rideau is pronounced "REE-dough" which is more similar to the original french, rather than "rih-DOUGH".
You can also book free guided tours/visits at the parliament buildings, notably in west block, east block, the senate and a self guided tour at the parliament immersive experience!
I've been to the Diefenbunker only once - and it was part of a Halloween special hosted by the Haunted Walks tour. They called it "Incident at the Diefenbunker," it involved zombies and it was a riot. 😊
If you’ve never been to Ottawa the sure it has a good amount of stuff to do but if you’ve been there for more than a couple weeks you run out of stuff.
Depending when you come there are also seasonal activities. Winter has Winterlude and skating on the canal. Summer there's hot air balloon rides and helicopter rides.
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, Ottawa is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on TH-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug!!!🙂
always wild seeing the rare times where someone is gassing up the museum i work at lmao. for a tourist i'm sure a weekend here isn't bad but, as someone who has lived here my whole life, this isn't just canada's most boring city- it's the most boring country capital in the world.

You have to include Nordik spa in Chelsea. Sure it's a lil drive but it's a world class spa. I have yet to go to a spa that tops this.
Interesting! Thanks for the info.
Dude I've lived here my whole life and have never seen it in this perspective, thanks for making this!
Thanks! I appreciate you saying that.
Very accurate for the places on this list I've actually been to. Really want to check out Diefenbunker next time I'm there!
Definitely worth it. Very interesting place!
Diefenbunker also does pretty cool escape rooms!
As a life long Ottawan, this video is great!
Thanks
Thank you soo much for doing Justice for Ottawa.
Glad to hear from someone positive. I've noticed a lot of negativity towards this city in the comments section. I thought it was great!
you need a more clickbaity title! this video is way too good to have so little views on it
Thanks! Any title suggestions? Lol

Oh that’s interesting to hear about the LRT. Ya we didn’t have any issues when we used it. Thanks for the insight!

Great video! I'm from Ottawa and I never knew we had a water taxi. Fun! "Rideau" is pronounced "ree-doe" and "Chaudière" is "show-dee-air".
Thank you 👍
Please consider doing a video on "African Lion Safari"! I rode on an elephant and watched it paint pictures when I was a young child, but it felt like a fever dream!
I had an idea to do both safari Niagara and African lion safari for a video. Thanks for the suggestion!
There's a new place in ottawa called skate & play its a roller skating rink and they just opened a restaurant called exit lounge its super fun
Sounds cool! Thanks for the info.
I had my prom dinner in the grand hall of the museum of civ, great video!
Also did two escape rooms in the bunker!
Also been to parties at the museum of nature, Nature Nocturne!
....I keep commenting before the video ends, but I've also had sleepovers at the Aviation museum! Lots to do here that you may never discover!
That sounds cool
Ya I’m sure there’s way more. I plan to come back for a round two someday

great video, but every time you mispronounced Rideau drove me bonkers lol
Yup... love the compliments about our fair city, but it is pronounced REE-doe. 😉
Very refreshing to see someone's positive take on the city :)
very helpful! thank you
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful.

There is definetly a cafe in the Science and Tech museum. It is tucked away but I have eaten there with my son.
Thanks for sharing. It was such a zoo when we went that we totally missed it.
Amazing Vid!!
Thanks!

I've been to Ottawa three times in my life, and always in the summer. I'd love to skate on the canal and check out Winterlude one day!
I just want to say that there is a cafe in the science and tec Museum, Its located half way down the rightmost hall way when you enter the Museum.
Thanks for the info. I think it was so busy in there that we missed it.
Thank you so much!!!
No prob. Thanks for watching!
If anyone is thinking about going to the Diefenbunker, bring a coat! Some of the rooms can get absolutely freezing.
Good point! It did get a little a chilly on the lower levels.

so good. thank you
You were so kind about the LRT 😂
Well, as a visitor exploring the city for a few days it worked just fine. 🤷 I guess if you’re commuting everyday it could be a different story.
As someone watching this from Gatineau, yes it is. The Brig is fine. Mill Street is basically a franchise.
No trip to Ottawa is complete without spending some time in the Somerset and Rideau-Vanier areas.
On the list for next time thanks!
Pronounced "Ree-doh", but otherwise great content, and even I learned a lot as someone living there.
Thanks

The best thing to do here is leave
Yes, it is actually super insanely boring here
Live in ottawa and to tell you the city is very boring and terribly layed out. The lrt is extremely unreliable as is the Bus system
Ottawa might not be the most boring city, but it is boring and I absolutely hate living here.
lol than why are you watching videos about it?
It’s boring because it takes like your entire day up to even get to any of this.
We did everything in 4 days
Just avoid it.
