I’m obsessed with it! The production is so amazing cause whenever he describes something about the organ in the lyrics that thing happens in the music. Like he says “banjo’s great on repeat” and immediately after you hear a repeated synth banjo. It’s awesome!
I’m so glad to finally see TH-cam reactors diving into more of Gotye’s music beyond his one-hit wonder song, he really does have some amazing music, very unique and experimental but teeming with a lot of soul
Not imaginary - he was gifted a Lowrey Cotillion D575 his parents found going really cheap and fell in love with it, lol. (Also - most of the videos for songs off Making Mirrors were created for a graphic design festival performance in 2011)
In order to get the vocal effect, Wally said that he imagined a character coming from the Cotillion, so he sang the verses at a monotone (I think at middle C), and he found that the vocals were more distorted the farther it went away from his natural voice. The beats you hear are actually Turkish. He found the beat and put it together with the horns. I'm usually not one for a lot of electronic music, but the way he does it is a total work of art.
I’m glad someone is reacting to more of his music that isn’t just STIUTK. People need to know more of his stuff. Plus, this is kinda like predicting what’s going on now. Artificial Intelligence is kinda taking over now in art and other stuff. Someone said that if artificial intelligence isn’t controlled, then maybe there won’t be any humans left. (Bobby chiu (an artist who was saying about the strikes and things and artificial intelligence in the industry))

This song is sooooo damn good! I see Gotye as an artist as much as a musician.
Indeed. Wally DeBacker is a musical genius. I showed my daughter "Making Making Mirrors" and "Making Eyes Wide Open," and she was blown away.
