I like my bananas with strawberries, in a yogurt, or a milkshake. That said I have eaten a peanut butter, bologna, and banana sammich before and liked it.
I think Troll armor is better than metallic armor. The faster you are the less likely you get bitten at all. A hole above the belt but below the head will hold a wolf but is still shallow enough that they don't avoid it as much as a deeper one. Using the abysal harpoon is easier from earlier on to use than trying to get cape or get lucky taking down platforms. A finewood bow or above with even wood arrows can one shot a wolf if it isn't alert. The huntsman bow is best for stealth kills from a distance. The bronze atgier secondary spin attack stuns wolves all around at the same level, and the iron slesge can stun them on slopes.
Tamed a 1 star wolf and tried to take it home. Took me 2 shots to bring down a drake that popped up, but the drake fired at me before I could kill it. Killed the drake and went to check on my wolf and... he had no green at all in his health bar. A neck could've killed him. But luckily I got him home safe and sound. Feels like the whole world is after your rare critters when you have one.
that reminds me how an invasion of bats massacre all of my 2 star boars... is that day that I now construct a farm when is time to domesticate new animals.
Holy cr** I relate to this so much. I recently got a 2 star boar and was in the process of moving it to my farm which was quite far away. I could have built a closer farm but I was up for the challenge. But oh boy was it a challenge. 3/4 through the journey one of my boars died, so I hit land and decided I will breed the 2 star I have with another 0 star so I could have 2 boars again. This actually went well. I found a boar, and got it tamed, then I breed it with my 2 star. Now I have some 2 star babies. Here's where things go wrong. As SOON as those babies are born, a troll raid comes and kills everything. I was so mad I purposely crashed my game so that when I loaded it back up, I was at my last save where the boars were alive. I proceed to repeat the process but then this time, a stray troll from a nearby black forest comes out of no where and again kills all my boars, even despite me putting some walls up. Wasn't enough I guess. So I again crashed my game and started from last save, and this time I finally made it without a troll. Yea what I did was a little cheaty, but I had spent literally like 5-6 hours taking, breeding, and sailing those boars. I have 1500+ hours in this game. Ain't no way I was going to do ALL that work from the start again lol.
@1234567895182 I made a 2nd world for boar farming. Just to protect them from raids. Anytime I need boar meat I go to my 2nd world collect and carry to my main world.
Solid video, though i don't bother with breeding pens in the meadows, they proliferate on their own eating boars and deers as long as you get it started right.
Something else to keep in mind too, is if you want to speed up this process a little, don't build a workbench near there. It prevents mobs from spawning in that area.
Great video and you got my sub for it. However, the only thing I would point out is that the Fenring does provide the "Fenring Trophy" which is used to create "Cold Fishing Bait" and even Ballista targeting if you so choose. The "Fangs" are also good for "Wolf Armor" and "Fang Spear", though obviously less important and easier to get from Wolves.
And here's a curiosity from the swamps. There are two methods of obtaining withered bones: 1) crypts 2) piles of muddy iron hidden in the ground in swamps (but only those where you can see the bones the same as the withered ones) - these can be found with a hammer, the number "0" appears, as with stones, which can sometimes be confusing.
In like 3-4 vids im going get back to my biome guides and cover the swamp so this is and interesting observation. Its like the silver in the mountains trick! I just dont know either is worth my viewers time because its so rare to find but ill have to test it, maybe its less rare than i think... actually i could just freefly underground and look at the amount thanks for the idea!
Truuue, Theres so many old games i wanna cover, every so often a good new game comes out.. they need to remaster fallout new vegas so i have an excuse to make those vids!
I think it’s worth mentioning you cannot tame wolves from the “you are being hunted” raid, as they will not eat your food if captured and will despawn if you leave the area
If I'm not mistaken, the breeder doesn't work anymore. They patched it, tamed animal needs to touch the ground, or the AI won't let them eat. Nice video btw!
Using wolves might be fun once, but ultimately not worth the trouble. They can't get into dungeons, are a pain to move to another landmass, and stunt the growth of your combat skills since you won't be attacking anything.
I wonder where you got the information about these respawn percentages. You just forget that the game also has alternating respawn. And there are simpler ways to catch a wolf and you don't have to run so much or risk yourself at all. When you make a trap, you start with a horseshoe-shaped ground embankment (4 times high), and then dig a hole in the middle and make a wooden footbridge. If a wolf is chasing you, you run across the footbridge, jump into the middle of the horseshoe, and the wolf, unable to jump, waits on the footbridge - now just knock it down without stress.
I just feel like it increases spawn rates loading new areas but i see where you are coming from too! I used to be a rare mount hunter on World of Warcraft and just used that knowledge here!
@@Samoooooooo Respawn in Valheim is not completely random and has fixed solutions. The creatures appear alternately every time they are eliminated. Only their level is random. I have been playing Walheim differently than anyone else and probably for the longest time of any player in the world. I catch and block day creatures, and I only hunt night creatures. Based on my observations and experiments, I carefully analyzed the way creatures respawn in the game. On this basis, I can predict with high probability where and what will appear and why it will appear. And what are the behaviors of individual creatures. Sorry for the translation - google translator

The reason the wolf cubs only end up being 2 star about 50% of the time is because thr 2 star parent is the only one that will produce a 2 star offspring. The offspring will always be the same tier as the parent, AFAIK.

Thanks Spazzy, I cant believe I forgot Harpoons , good tip!

For real and drakes are the worst enemy of tamed mobs...

As you said, 2* is very rare, even I think some places don't have 2* wolves. It is worth installing a roof to protect against drakes and bats.
For sure if you are the stage of the game where the drake raid can happen you gotta be hyper safe with the puppers!
Just build a house around your house

atgeir is perfect for this purpose. it has a knockback that hits every direction. it gives you time to retreat when too many wolves attack at once
For those thinking you can use the world modifier "passive enemies" to make it easier, I had zero two star, or even one star, wolves spawn.
Good stuff!
Yo thanks!
Appreciate this.

It still works great! I just made it recently and its still printing out pups to this very day!
Gotta be honest, I am not a big fan of any of the breeders or 'farms' (aka rock farm, coal farm, etc).

How do you get the wolves out of the pits you dug?
Use your pick to make a ramp out of the walls, or fill the hole with a hoe and stones
