I remember seeing Mr. Jones in Oliver! on boardway & at Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey. Not only a great performer but a wonderful father & lover of animals. He'll and Peter Tork will always be loved, remembered and missed. Rest in peace guys.💖
one error in this video.. Davy said he started doing the Artful Dodger when he was 9 years old. He was actually 17. When Davy was 21, he was doing "The Monkees" Jack Wild did "Oliver" when he was 15. One reason for having actors in TV shows and plays to be at least 17 years old is because younger performers have all sorts of restrictions on how many hours they can work per day, and other restrictions.
I could be wrong but I think when the Beatles were first on The Ed Sullivan Show, Olive, the musical was also on the bill. Davy Jones was front and center- Great clip, thanks to Davy et. al.
You can see he is getting more barrel-chested here, the heart condition was already building, I don't think his doctors did scans when he had check-ups.
