    QJT is so awesome. I wanna go to the Netherlands just to meet him. My playing has skyrocketed since I discovered this channel. Using all of this knowledge on piano, too. Amazing, awesome, intelligent, articulate guitar teacher.

      @@Amatteus What a coniscidence. I havbe not been playing much lately and just literally sat down to QJam as soon as you made that comment. I like to use his theory for piano, too. He is pretty much the most articulate guitar man I have found. He and this piano teacher from Holland speak better English than me., Embarrasing.

      @@jakobglassstories Not only the content.. But the graphics are also top quality. A pleasure to listen and see.... Yesterdady i learn about modal harmony, something new to me.. You can apply in piano also.. Mot things he explain are the same for any instrument... Piano and guitar both make music with chords.. So, intervales, scales and chord progresions with rythm is what you need to make music.

    Hello , Great Channel with lot of information. I have Question ,, at 4:21 you said that add9 chord appear at specific degrees on the major scale except the 2nd and the 7th degree.
    But in your example of the C Major scale you left out the 3rd degree and 7th degree.

    • @QJamTracks
      @QJamTracks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Waiting on a Friend by Rolling Stones begins with Cadd9 and F. The maj chord is a song in itself for me. But most of the chord shapes are really uncomfortable because of the stretch required for the smaller hands.

  • @zipperhead101
    @zipperhead101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You showed that the Lydian mode had usable added 9 chords at all degrees except the fourth and seventh. What about the non-usable degrees for the other modes? Also fourth and seventh? Or are the all unique. If you have a video that covers that, I’d sure like to see it. Thank you!

    • @QJamTracks
      @QJamTracks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Burlap. Add9 chords without alteration (b5 and b9) occur in every mode on different degrees, because the starting point of the modes shift in the diatonic major scale.

    Hi and thanks for the wonderful video but there is an error around 6.46 where you are playing minor 9 arpeggios but you show a major pattern for the minor arpeggio starting on the 5th string. Also the title says Major but of course it should read minor. i thought you should be aware of this. keep up the great work!
