Actually, as a non fancy Asian from a third world country who is not that familiar with dessert or baking/cooking, I thought Vanilla was made from mainly milk too. The only vanilla flavoured food I had eaten and enjoyed a lot is ice-cream and most of the time, it is white and milky colour so ..... I am sure boss is not the only one who thought that.
