I prefer BO1 to BO3 for a variety of opponents and experiences. It also makes shorter videos possible since a BO3 match can take an entire video’s length on it’s own. I prefer Standard Events to Ranked Ladder because of a more varied meta and better rewards. If you get to 4 wins, you get your gold entree fee back and you get some card rewards. If you get to seven wins you double your gold. I estimate I have made about an extra 10,000 gold this season from playing Standard Events vs Ranked Ladder.

The pain of getting mana screwed type 2 (flooded) is palpable and I can feel the pain even if you're several thousand miles away... happens to the best and worst of us lol...

Oh man, I have run into this same issue w/ Naya Feather, as has anyone w/ any deck ever, but I think it's particularly painful w/ Feather b/c the deck is so synergy-based w/ its draws being reliant on both creatures & spells to cast on those creatures, so when you're flooded you're really just not playing the game at all. I saw you ran 24 lands & because the deck can draw so much, I've run between 22 & 23 w/ more success (I think I'm at 22 right now, can't remember). It was fun to see you give the deck a shot! Hope it gets some love in THB.

I'm running naya feather and I threw in two questing beasts instead of two seasons. Seasons is good and can get you a lot of value but often you need some extra power to kill your opponent and questing beast fits the bill. Gods willing or ambush are pretty amazing with it, as well as giving it trample with colossus.
Also, I disagree with 2 forests. It's just a super dead land very often. I run one and I'm actually concidering to cut it for another plains or mountain.
Not sure about fabled passage as well. It seems good, but it can and will screw up your scrys since at the end of my games I often have between 4-8 lands in the bottom of my deck.

That last game was really good ! This deck reminds me of that one you mentioned yesterday (Izzet Flash) but more focused on aggro creatures, good stuff.

14:32, on the subject of thinning the deck. Your chance of successfully not flooding out goes from 83% to 81%.
2% is probably significant enough to do, considering how clean your mana is at the point of contention.
I love Feather, and I'm still running it. The lost of Reckless Rage hurt to deck so much, but I have started running a couple copies of Infuriate. If you're patient Infuriate can end games so fast, especially when combined with Dreadhorde Arcanist.

A card that is a little better than Domri's Ambush is Titanic Brawl. With legionnaire its a G 1-mana removal spell for creatures. While not hitting planeswalkers is a bit of a minus, it's still good enough to run. It's also an instant speed, which makes the best use of Feather, while ambush is not.
While this deck might not be top tier in today's meta, it's fun seeing it draw like 5+ cards each turn once Dreadhorde and Season of Growth get going, not to mention recycling the spells with Feather.
I feel your pain, I have had it nerous times with my red Aggro where I drew 7 straight lands. I have 22 total in the deck, statistically should not happen as often as it does.

Hey covert it was really neat to be watching this video randomly and see a match between you and I. I remember taking so long wondering if I should just Hearthfire it before your turn even started sorry I took so long hahah. I was really counting on you not having another pump spell to prevent my removal of your dreadhorn Arcanist. I could not come back after that. I like your commentary by the way haha you're right I am really competitive and try really hard to win each match. Really wanted to win. By the way I know I use what looked like to be budget Jank cards or whatever but I homebrew my main deck that I use and just actually prefer those cards. I did move on to Mythic rank either that very night or the next day by the way! I'm currently ranked like 150 or something like that.

I actually would not have used the passage in that spot. Not because thinning the deck isn't a thing, more like the shuffler is going to put a land on my deck because its broken is a thing. I feel your pain.

I'm gonna try this deck but I think thrash threat is one of the problems of why it doesn't work right. They cost too much for what they do and it never works out for you or resolves. I'd put in something cheaper like a samut sprint. Now you get to scry out the land floods and attack sooner by Hasting whatever creature you dropped.
Ok I tried it and finally got it to work decent.

I also threw in 2 sedge scorpions because with ambush and prey upon that's as good as a murder
I added 3 shocks removed 3 instants
the more competitive version runs the doublestrike creatures, get rid of the ambush and replace with threat and assure so you can actually protect from sweeps.
Also, don't run stomping ground to fix your colors. Just run temple gardens and sacred foundries with the fabled passages. You'll find more consistency.

Cool, I've actually been trying to figure out a combination for tenth legion for the past few days actually. I'm always reluctant to just rely on one stacked counter creature though because there are so many ways to just screw it over via destroying and return to hand.
i know the feels cgb i've played this deck few days ago and simply lost my mind against cat-oven deck mainly and always drawing too much lands and keep missing the timing with the cards... i mean 4 copies of season growth and never draw it in 3 games in a row. Anyway thanks for confirming my doubts about it
There are definetly too less creatures in this deck, because most of the spells only work with creatures too. I would suggest to add at least 3 gruul spellbreakers
Great to see that someone else gets mana flooded. The converse of that is also a lot of fun. Nothing like not having any mana. Ironically (lol) I had a really bad night with both of these wonderful things.

@@Jorg05111980 I usually do not Mulligan unless I absolutely have to. Fact is I've had just as many mana issues with perfect hands as I have had with bad beginning hands. That's why it's fun to watch CGB play and wait and wait and wait for the right card and it doesn't come. Happens to everybody. The other thing that happens to everybody as well is playing an opponent who gets everything they need when they need it.
@@demonicell In multicolor, almost all keeps of just one mana type have resulted in losses for me so far...so I'm inclined to take the mulligan nowadays. And yes, yesterday my opponent had a top draw on turn 17 delivering the 3 points of needed damage (Rankle)...next turn I would have killed them

CGB does not compliment the practical use of these sleeves in keeping those cards safe and in good condition, does he? Just as much as you dislike the visual aesthetics of sleeves and card styles, there are people that do, and I am one of these. I wouldn't say anything, if this happend only once. But there were some more Situations, when you did it, i remember for example one Sentence like "why don't they put their sleeves on, it's like going out naked" or something like that.
For me it sounds like, it's not ok to play without Sleeves and everyone should do it.
You are right, nobody should tell someone for what he has to spend his Money, they can buy little Pony Sleeves, or whatever they want, but when they don't, you shouldn't comment it in such a negative way.
Mana flooding and mana screwing made me stop this game … this happened way too often to be luck-related …

24 lands with this curve is too much imo. This deck usually plays 23 even in some cases 22 lands... -1 land and +1 Defiant Strike right off the bat. Probably change 1 shock + 1 Season of Growth for 2 Samut's Sprint. And mabe cut the other 2 shock for Bonecrusher Giant. Less manaficient early but big body + extra threat in the long run.

Gods willing can only target creatures you control.
Also, time wipe doesn't target your creature, it says "a creature" so protection won't matter.

try playing a deck with 23 cards that are 3 mana or less and over 40 games averige first card played turn 7. vs aggro only mana flood vs control only sweepers. almost destroyed my pc.
