    This game looks really fun. Was hoping to see you do a play through, and you did. I can see there might be specific paths to always ensure a guaranteed victory. That does worry me a bit, but I would have to own the game to know for sure. Will probably get a copy. Seems very straightforward and streamlined.
    I can definitely see them putting out another version of this game that’s set in another era or based in an entirely different part of the world, perhaps Egypt. That would be cool. Each adaptation could introduce small new mechanics.
    Great play through!

    You made the best video of the KS game. Thank you for helping me make a logical decision

    My buddy just got this one in. I'm looking forward to playing it!

    This feels incredibly similar to any bog-standard city tile builder. Less interesting than even something like Between Two Cities, except for 4x the price and 4x the shelf space. Wonderful playthrough, Jon, just disappointed that this game has the same level of appeal to me as Zombicide.

      Agreed. Not worth $120, (or $160 - $200 for the game, + shipping, +/- add-ons) by any means!

      overproduced fucking simplistic game. I'll stick with Bunny Kingdom and Quadropolis. $100+? HA!

    Good playthrpugh as always Jon! The game itself seem to me like something I would get bored of after a few plays..the only reason this stands out are those 3d tiles...I like that kind of component improvment but it has to also come with a deeper gameplay than this seems to be...

      I can see that perspective for sure. I'm looking forward to having opportunities to play it more (I've shipped my copy on) since I enjoy tile laying games and I am getting somewhat burned out on the rules heavy titles that have been coming out lately.

    I don't think the game is worth the money they ask. It's clearly a overproduced simple game. It seems fine, but I'll never pay 100$ for a game this simple. They should have a regular tile laying version for 25$, cause that's what this is.

      It's a brazen and disrespectful cashgrab. I get that these are all luxury items, but this is pushing it. Really stupid price. They'd sell more copies if they made a $50 version which I "might" be into... absolutely shocking over-beefed $35 game into much bigger than pants than is needed. PSH. Like, have they heard of Bunny Kingdom or Acquire? LMAO

    Excellent playthrough as always Jon though overall not sure the game appeals to me. Strikes me as a bit too quick and simple given most of the decisions in game seem to be dictated based on the order the lot cards come out and while there are some synergies with regards to buildings just not much. The components are cool for sure, love the 3D buildings, but I prefer my games meatier and with a lot of things to think about personally.

    Why didn't blue place their 2 spot library as the last action - all the surrounding buildings are population ones would have been much more points - edit, ahh was covered nearer the end.

    I want this game but my red/green color deficiency tell me otherwise. Even though you probably can't cater to everyone's desires, I which so many games didn't use these as default colors as there's many others that give much better contrast, even if you also have that color blindness.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the color choice is unfortunate considering the pieces look the same otherwise :(

    Shouldn't you deal out the cards from left to right? First card from the top of the deck in the cheapest spot?

      I assume you mean at the start of a new round, and I suppose I should though it's still functionally random I think.

    Did you sometimes count the gold coin as 5 instead of 3?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope I didn't do that, but I suppose it's possible. Did you note any times when this seemed to happen?

      @@JonGetsGames I saw it, too.
      8:50 was where 1 instance occurred, when the green player gained money.

      @@Jighm Thanks for pointing that out. I've added a correction to the Klingon subtitles.

  • @DrMcFly28

    8:53 Isn't that 5 money?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The income action gives a player 5+visible coins money, and they had two visible coins at that point which is why it ended up being 7.

    Jon - at 20:01, 18+5=23

      Ah yes, good catch there. Surprised you were the first to notice that! I've added a note to the Klingon subtitles, thanks :)

      JonGetsGames well... at the end there, blue still had a pretty big lead (even without the error) so I doubt that correction matter so much.
