As in any design decision, form over function is a big consideration. Rubber mats may be more practical, but are not so aesthetically pleasing. Also, scraping ice off rubber will damage the rubber over time. Wet leaves on any surface is dangerous. There is no perfect solution.
I recently picked up the 1kw plus unit with a couple of 1kw batteries to extend the total wattage to 3kwh (the unit supports a total of 3 1kwh batteries for a total of 4kwh). I also have a smaller 600wh unit for smaller jobs. Very happy with them. They already came handy during a power outage.
I'm afraid I echo others on this site when I believe your dad must be watching you continue to build, develop and enjoy with your family this cabin in this stunning wilderness. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us your family's enjoyment and the beautiful fall colors.
I understand the sentiment but it is no more than this. Would we wish our family to be looking down from heaven when we are behaving badly? Or what about when we are unclothed etc? Or what about when we fall off a ladder or are knocked down by a car? If our family can see all from heaven there must be a lot of dismay, embarrassment and pain. No, only God can see us from heaven and that’s a blessing for us and fr those i heaven.
Your daughter giggling on the porch after all your work brought a tear to my eye, so happy for you. As a hard-working man with 3 young daughters, I can empathise massively.
Hearing your daughter’s laughter does the soul good. That alone makes all your hard work worthwhile. Having such a beautiful place for your family to relax and enjoy the calm beauty God’s creation can heal and strengthen all of you. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. God bless you and send healing to your wife.
I really like how you protect your family by showing them from a distance, yet allowing us to share a glimpse of them from time to time. God bless you.
Oh my, what a heartwarming episode. I so enjoy when Mrs Outsider and little Miss get to savor your labor of love. Thank you for sharing. Much love and respect from South Carolina.
So good to see your family enjoying the cabin. Thanks for sharing your family experiences. Beautiful colors. Making memories with the family is priceless. So glad to see your wife. Peace my friend.
I am amazed at the many skills you have...no doubt passed down father-to-son through the generations ... surely your daughter will benefit from those instructions , as well . A self reliant , strong , wise woman is , indeed a jewel (Proverbs 31 : 10-31) . Wishing you and yours all good things and much joy !
It’s great following along with your work! Additionally, at about the 12 minute mark, I freaking love the camera being thrown with the rocks! Amazing cinematography!
Always a pleasure watching your videos. I can't help thinking your Dad is watching you from heaven and is so proud of you and the work that you're doing. May GOD bless you and your family always. Thank you for another video.
At 14:23 -your daughter giggling - this is the sound your father would have loved to listen to. I am sure he is with you and watching over your family as you continue his heritage with building this place into a place you and your family can enjoy for years to come until your daughter is going to visit this place in memory of her beloved father and her kids voices enlighten the area. Best wishes from Germany!
It was wonderful to see you and your family enjoying time together in that beautiful space you’ve lovingly created. It must just feel so good to hear your daughter and wife’s laughter.
I, for one, miss watching you work with your dad - but I'm sure he's smiling down on you and your family from heaven wishing he was still working with you.
What an absolutely amazing video! Such precious memories your family are making. So nice to see Mrs Outsider and little Miss Outsider, again. Your cabin just keeps getting better and better. You are an amazing craftsman. Take care and we’ll see you on the nest one!
Really good to see you again , the leaves on the trees are beautiful , the cabin looks great and it was so good to see your wife and daughter again , have a blessed autumn and I’ll catch you on your next video ❤🍁🍁🍁
Hi from the UK, I have loved following your journey here from the start…thank you for sharing this with us all. The cabin looks beautiful inside & out & I know you & your family will build many happy memories there.
Hi From the UK. I have watched you from the first video you did, right through the build. I enjoyed every episode. It is great to see you and your family enjoying the fruits of you labours. I am sure that your Dad would have been so proud of you. I am looking forward to your next 'offerings' ;) Stay Safe.
That cabin is beautiful. Gotta love the old tractors. I hope you are able to get it fixed. Love the fall colors. It's no surprise that people drive for hours just to see them. Thanks for the update, and hope to see another video soon.
I have been enjoying your channel for quite awhile now, always excellent. I am 71 and never heard of apple syrup I will have to attempt this, maybe on funnel cake something I have never had. Thanks.
Glad to see your cabin is close to being finished so your family can move in before the winter sets in. You've done a great job, wish your dad could see it and maybe he's watching from above. You should be very pleased as to how it has turned out. Best looking small cabin I've ever seen. Enjoy. MC.
I’m just in awe of the thoughtful steps you take with each project. This video was a wonderful visit with you and your family, to see your daughter is having some of the best times in the woods with her mom and dad. Looking forward to seeing your progress as winter bears down on all of us in north country.
Thank you Outsider and family 🙂 Always great to hear from you my friends. So nice to see you enjoying the cabin that you and your Dad worked so hard to build. God Bless 🙏🏻 you all, stay safe and take care my friends 🫶🏻 Appreciate you always!
Another gem of a video! I think of your Dad every time I see your family gathered at the cabin. He will forever be happily watch I g over your cabin fun!
Thank you for sharing your loved ones with all of us. Truly appreciate it. Your daughter I know had the best time being out in nature with her two parents. Nice to sed your wife enjoying herself as well. God Bless 🙏 ❤
Back before air conditioning they in the south learned a long time ago to build big front porches . They even built screened in sleeping porches because the nights were so hot . That was because it was to hot to stay indoors . I’ve built two houses in my life with big porches because in the spring and fall I like to sit out on them and enjoy the beauty of both seasons . My wife has all kinds of potted plants hanging and sitting on the edge of the porch . It’s big enough for several people to visit and enjoy each other’s company . My first house had a 10ft by 30ft front porch . My new home has a 8ft by 27ft porch . There’s room enough for 8 to 10 chairs and room enough to walk around them . I really enjoy your videos on your cabin . Ive watched every one of them since you and your dad started building it . Have a blessed day !!
❤❤❤ Your cabin is so beautiful and welcoming. Thanks for sharing the fall colors. Your method of building is superior!!! Your great great great grandchildren will be enjoying your homestead long after you are gone. That is such a wonderful legacy!! I've never seen apple syrup made. Your breakfast looks amazing, and I love seeing your family there. Looking forward to more on the sauna. ❤❤❤
Seeing you and your family enjoying the results of the hard work you and your dad put into building your cabin makes it my favorite episode of your entire series 😊
Your cabin Daniel...is the 'stuff of dreams'! You have tweaked it to beyond perfection! The simple pleasures with your fam were idyllic to behold...thanks for sharing and never stop counting your abundant blessings! Thanks so much for sharing...health an' blessings! :)

No matter where we all are in the world, the little red tractor is everywhere and unites us all with memories, mine is I learnt to drive on the 35x with the ‘turbo’ torque shifter and at 14 I thought I was motoring across the field with a grain trailer.🇬🇧 (oh nice blog😀😀 by the way)
So good to see you making memories in the cabin that you and your dad built. It's great to see Mrs Outsider looking so good and happy as you all enjoy what you have
By far my most favorite episode. Seeing everything come togerther and enjoyed by your family is precious. I have been working on a tiny cabin up on the hill behind my house for the last four years and have been following your progress. You have inspired me and motivated me in my progress. Thank you so much for sharing.
It was so good to see you with the family. Your little one was having a ball. Truly enjoy watching all of your videos. Can't wait for the next one. God bless.
Beautiful fall scenery, and quality time spent with family. Nothing in life can be much better. Your daughter is growing fast! Nice to see your wife out too. Praying for her health concerns.
Won't the stone steppers become slippery from mud, rain, and ice? I can't believe it's been seven years. That funnel cake with apple syrup looks delicious. it's good to see your family doing good.
@cgamejewels Much appreciated, my friend! As for the stone treads, I could easily score them, to add traction (as another viewer wisely suggested), if they become too slippery.
SEVEN YEARS!!!! Wow!!!! I remember that well!!! It's been a privilege and quite a learning experience to watch. Glad you're showing no signs of slowing down.
In 1962 my grandfather drove his brand new fergie35 from Cardiff to Llanelli a distance of nearly 100 miles on the roads at the time. That was tough but it was on proper roads. Doing what you did is tough on the old rear. The other bits in the video are all good and adding quality touches to an outstanding project. Thank you for opening a window to us mwre mortals
Those are memories that will stay with that sweet little girl for the rest of her life. Absolutely beautiful place you have there and the perfect setting
I look forward to the sauna build. You are very creative in your ideas. I too was curious as to whether the stone would get slippery, however you seem to be very mindful or your families safety so I'm sure the stone is not smooth. Your daughters laughter is infectious. Keep it up, I've loved watching all these years, your father is very proud of you. Cheers
Great to see you enjoying the cabin with your family. Autumn is my favorite season. So beautiful. No mosquitos. Fresh air. And the smell of those falling leaves...

Great video, as always. Your daughter's giggle was so precious!! Y'all are a wonderful family, & we appreciate you sharing your lives with us. God bless y'all in all-ways!! ♥️🙏♥️
That's exactly the same engine as mine! Good to know. It's the first diesel tractor that I've owned, plus it's old technology, so I wasn't sure if that was the norm.
So wonderful you got to enjoy the family being there with you in the cabin. It's an amazing place and ideal for cosy weekends together. Never heard of 'funnel' cake (I hope I heard that right) but it looks wonderful with the wild apple syrup. Well done in making the memories. God's blessing on you and your family.

Praying your wife’s health is doing great. Place looks great. Can’t wait to see the new build. Like to see the three of you enjoying yourselves. Also appreciate the fact you don’t film your family especially your daughter.
You've built such a beautiful cabin, teaching you all the skills in his tool belt it reflects a Fathers love for his son making sure he prepared you for life and the rewards of love.
As a six year old child visiting my grandmother in the UK in the 1950s, I remember when the chimney sweep came. He had a great sense of humor. Because, before he actually started to clean the chimney with brush and vacuum; he said to me, “ Well, laddy, are you ready to climb up with the brush in hand? The three ladies in my life: mother, grandmother, and great grandmother broke out in laughter.
What a heavenly place! Huge admiration for you and looking forward to seeing you finishing off this beautiful cabin. Your daughter will have such amazing memories of these first days there.
Truly amazing. I'm glad you got to spend some time with your family at the cabin. Keep building those memories. Apple syrup? Never heard of it, but now I have to try it. Thanks again.
The fall scenery adds to the beauty of the cabin making it fit perfectly. I’ve followed this from the first stone and you and your Dad created a work of beauty and determination. You are so caring about your family even cleaning the windows to make their visit more special. The new light fixtures will add to the charm of the cabin. Can’t wait for the sauna build!!

@@TheJimcrooks800 Thank you! And yes, you heard right. It's called a "funnel cake" because the batter is poured through a funnel.
@@TheOutsiderCabin just looked up a recipe! Will try the apple syrup too!

Truly amazing. I'm glad you got to spend some time with your family at the cabin. Keep building those memories. Apple syrup? Never heard of it, but now I have to try it. Thanks again.
In just enjoyed nother great video from The Outsider. It was a treat to see your lovely family again. Thank you until the next one. Peace.
What a wonderful video! Your place is amazing! Your “neck of the woods”, is gorgeous! I am so jealous! Love, love, love! 😊
