Agree about Jonathon Bailey's acting. Even in season one, you could see the struggles in Anthony's relationship with Siena, and what he thought being the head of a household was about. And he tried with Siena...which is why I think along with his father's death flashbacks made him NOT want to marry for love. Because he didn't want to lose love or have it taken away from him. And season 2, the flashbacks and then the obvious attraction was played beautifully by several of the scene partners, but brilliantly done with Simone as Kate. It was all in the eyes, and ordinary touch. And her eyes were especially stunning and expressive. The ball scene, when their hands move down to reveal the face- bit like peekaboo- was a nice nod to Indian dance, as was another brilliant cover of an Indian song by Vitamin String and the dresses were embroidered in a slightly more Indian embellishment too.
Wonderful writing and acting! As an allergist, I amazed on how Ms Quinn and the writers incorporated a rare but intense immune reaction, of the times, (since allergic reactions were first described in the late 19th/early 20th century British scientific literature, impacting the wealthy) the smallest of creatures, that shook then rebuilt Anthony’s foundation to receive and give love.

Such shows are designed (shamelessly by Netflix) to revise and erase the historical horrors of British Colonialism. Indians romancing white guys in Colonial Britain..Yeah right. non white people were sub human in colonial Britain. Some might argue, this show is a piece of fiction trying to bring mutli racial representation (and I agree to some extent), but this attempt becomes egregious because the British monarchy still has not said sorry for Colonialism unlike the Germans have for the holocaust...There is a convenient inhibition nowadays to discuss the horrors of colonialism in the West .. Hell a lot of Britishers are arrogant enough to even think colonialism were good for the colonies.. Also the British don't teach their colonial past in schools.. The scores of shows fantasizing the Victorian era British Regency (which was built on stolen money from the colonies after oppressing and killing its people) with no mention of colonialism is ample proof for this 'push it under the rug' attitude

Great observation
The place where Anthony lost all feelings of love is where he found it again with Kate.... in the garden
As a nurse , the father's death is so believable and well acted
Favorite romance Kate and Anthony love Story perfect true love Story 🥀🥀🥀 hurts life together ⭐⭐⭐
