That's the coolest voltage indicator I've seen so far. I searched Northern Tools but couldn't find what you might have purchased. I have a 1995 GL1500A and have been trying to find a good installation for a voltmeter. So far you have the best!
Thanks, I am glad that my idea has help you. The tester that you found looks like the same design I used. I just took the guts out of the housing and drilled the holes in the cover to match the spacing of the LEDs then used clear silicone to glue and seal everything in place. Sounds like you have the idea.
I got it from Northern Tools. I believe it was a battery volt tester / monitor. I took it apart. it has a circuit board about 1/2 wide and 2 1/2 long with the wires hooked to it. I drilled the holes in the Goldwing plastic cover to match the spacing of the LED's on the voltmeter. I then took clear silicone to glue it to the cover and then encased the hole thing in silicone to waterproof it. I wired it to something that has power with the key is on. Simple and it works like a charm.
I just found the tester I think you might have used on eBay. Search for "Battery / Alternator Tester, LED Indicators 12V Alternator Charging Tester" and you should find it. It's being sold by dcmm1997. TH-cam won't let you post links to other sites... Cool idea! Thanks!
Very nice. Those GL1500's are timeless.
Just saw your video, always something to learn about the Goldwing, I learned a few things about my Goldwing watching this, thanks...

Personally, I would not mind owning one of these bikes. They are very reliable and dependable.
