Is there a way to import a csv file into the software?
If you could do a session on the memory functions that would be great. Other than the basic memory channel function, I find all of those other memory functions very confusing. Like the PMS, home channel, and how to access all the preset receiver memories. How to scan for a busy channel, and then how to place it into an open memory slot from the radio. Also the with the scan function, how to mark for skip, and to unskip. Thanks! Darrell KX4EMT

Thank you so much for this Video, I did buy the RT cable and program then when I upgraded to windows 11 it would not work. Once they started supporting 11 I could not find my cable. This video saved me from having to buy it again and shame on my local shop for telling time I needed it when I was getting started in HAM.
That's a good point I have against RT Systems. It's marketed so hard that one would think it's required, and very expensive if you take into account all of the cables and versions.

Thank you brother... I just spent hours pulling my hair out, couldn't think what I was doing wrong... turns out that I wasn't loading, modifying and reloading the backup file. Just randomly creating files, lol.
Great video, very good explanation how to do it. My FT-3de always give me the error message "incomplete". I turned it of, replaced the battery .. no effect. Does anyone have a idea how to fix it?

I'm using Macbook.When I clicked on setup.exe, it said only PC supported
Note: For anyone purchasing a memory card, from the FT3D manual micro-SDXC memory cards are not supported.
I did get a 32GB SDHC and that worked.

This video is FANTASTIC! I spent 4 hours trying to get CHiRP and the RTSystems software for the FT3D working, no luck. Why? The programming cable that comes with the radio isn't a programming cable! Thank You MorernHam! ADMS does seem to work. Now I just have to transfer the rest of my channel list (that I use for other HTs) into ADMS, save it to the MicroSD, upload it into the FT3D's memory and all should be good. BRILLIANT!😃
Any tips/way to import local repeaters like you can with CHIRP? Or a way to export from chirp and import into ADMS so you don’t have to manually enter?

Thanks for the video. I still might purchase the RT system software (minus the cable and just use the ST card) just because it has the external resources you can import like repaterbook etc but I was successful with this too.
I'ts a nice tool, just a little too expensive for some.
Is there a way of programming ADMS so that the bank memories are hidden from your regular memories? I hate how you have to spin the dial to get past all the stored bank memories.

Good video. Tried downloading the .zip file onto my Mac...OK. Attempted to unzip using the Archivezip option; dialogue came back at me with "File format unsupported".
Wonderful. Could get Betterzip as suggested but you have to pay for that. Might just go the RT route. Any ideas?
This is my first radio I purchased last week. Do I need to use the firmware cable to make updates out of the box, like a computer (sorry if this sounds silly)? Appreciate the short informative video!! 73 KO4NCL
Good video; so pretend like it is a MS product and do a hard reboot ;) Regardless, thanks for stepping through the process - I figured it wasn't too complicated, but it always good to see it. I wonder if the lock has something to do with the size of the sd card? I thought I had read 32gb was the max. Regardless, thanks again!

Yaesu should be embarrassed by this ADMS software, it's horrible, non-intuitive and buggy. No wonder people use RT Systems!
I keep getting an input error, when I export a CSV formatted for ADMS on RepeaterBook. Any thoughts?
Seems like I've seen the ability to download a mass list of local repeaters off repeaterbook.com and then mass copy/paste into the listing. Is this possible with the Yaesu software or no?
Does the FT3DR have to ha e a proprietary data cord in order to connect to the cause I keep getting a time out error and the computer says that the ft3dr is unrecognizable?

could you explain how to do firmware update with cable( it does not work for me)?
Just an FYI, the SD card you link in the info won't work with the FT3DR. I tried it. The radio can use a 32GB SD, maximum. I got a cheap 32GB Samsung and that one worked.
Hello... was just trying 2 different micro cards... the radio doesn't recognize them.
But both are 128 gb... so I see the problem now... I will get a 32

I've used an FT2DR for several years. I've upgraded to the FT3DR. However, transferring memory from FT2 to FT3 has me baffled. This video is great for programing one or the other, but how to transfer data between them?

Great video. I'm confused though. I also have the FTM-400. I have all of my digital frequencies loaded on band A and my analog frequencies loaded on band B. How do you designate which Band (A or B) that you want a particular channel loaded into on the FT-3DR using ADMS-11 software?

Thanks for the tutorial! Everything worked great for me until reading from the SD card. I tapped okay, and it says NOT COMPLETED every time. I can't figure it out! Any help out there?
Did you ever figure out how to get around it. I am having the same problem.
@@sonofahyderite6855 yes, kind of. Import the file from the FT3D first, type over it and send it back. Make sure to save a copy to your computer for later. For some reason, you can't just send a file to the radio without importing first from the radio.
Just out of curiosity, did you update your firmware? I'm wondering if the update has the error with it.
@@MarineOh3 I did the MARS mod and it failed after that. When I got the ft3dr it came with the latest firmware.
@@sonofahyderite6855 hmm, I don't know what it is then. I had updated my firmware before trying downloaded memory channels, so I don't have a comparison for it like it worked like in this video. That's the only work around I've found though for our issue, unfortunately.
Tried installing the device driver to no avail. Thanks to your video, I don't have to. For a while there I was already considering buying the expensive software/cable package. You certainly saved me a lot of $$$! Truly appreciate it. YOU THE MAN!
Excellent video, thanks! I tried this method at first using an older 2gb micro SD card, the radio would not accept the new BACKUP.dat file. After I replaced the older SD card with a new 32gb SD card, the radio read the file with no problems. Again, thanks for doing these videos and putting out helpful content!
I have the scu19 for wires x is that the cable I need to use the yaesu software
I believe the scu19 is for PDN mode on wires-X. The cable I used was the one that came with the radio.

I always baffled by how terrible Yaesu is at software though. They clearly rely on people spending the extra €40 or so on RT Systems, which when you have already spent a fair chunk on a radio is a bit hard to swallow. Funny how a crappy €25 Baofeng manages to have working software and yet Yaesu can't.

I am recently retired from, among other things, an aerospace engineer and a graphics designer, using Mac OS exclusively, but since ADMS can't be used on a Mac I guess I'll go with RT.

This tells me nothing about how to program the radio from computer
Ley me know what part you need help understanding and I will try to answer your question. We made a backup of the radio, programmed the backup file, and restored it onto the radio.
