She seems really slow compared to Bucky and Steve handling the shield. She’s almost a lot of weight behind it which is a great detail
Nah pretty sure vibranium is like 1/4 of the weight of steel, idk what her shield is made of but it's going to be heavy asf

1) She's not a super soldier
2) Bucky probably had a lot more experience about such missions than her. Guy went around doing this for decades.
Andy Lister (the stuntman who did all the scenes for Masters) should definitely play the definitive Taskmaster (he even looks like the one from the comic counterpart)

Well stunts and acting are different things. Maybe he wasn’t a good actor
I think Taskmaster in a way is supposed to be a knockoff to the heroes she copies. She copies but isn't as effective at using the same moves as the heroes because she simply doesn't have the same body. Most of the heroes are taller than her and more muscular, and because most of them are super soldiers, they're physically stronger. The only person she can effectively copy is Natasha because she has a similar body type and has probably been through the same training as her. Even the reason she can copy them is a knockoff of Tony's tech because Tony's tech allows to him to analyze and counteract someone's fight patterns.

Well, that's the MCU's version the comics is basically the perfect soldier who can basically beat all normal humans like Steve, Natasha, Wade, Shang Chi, Frank, Sam, Bucky, etc in hand to hand combat but also being a threat to some who have powers.

The ability to perfectly mimic the abilities of others on the very first try is what makes taskmaster one of marvels strongest mercenaries but this movie makes his abilities seem more like a gimic

To be fair, most of these “abilities” are technological( the helmet and the fight analysis) while others are not specific copies of other moves because it’s basic stuff

The cap ones were the only legitimate copies. Her fighting style is very similar if not exactly like his. Nothing else here is exact copies of other superheroes

I totally thought the wrist blade was a mistake and a reference to Proxima Midnight (when she tries to kill Natasha with one in Infinity War). I completely forgot about Crossbones, let alone Tony, having them as well.

Timeline wise it couldn't be. Since Black Widow is set after Civil War, and tfatws after Black Widow already died.

It was probably taken from Black Panther, Cap or Batroc. They're all kick-based fighters.

1st problem, Taskmaster is going against one hero, instead of the entire Avengers. I would've liked to see Taskmaster picking up fight skills from her foes and changing tasks in an instant, depending on who she's fighting.
2nd, she's leading an army of Widows, who have received exact same training as Natasha, and therefore have the same skillsets. The ability to copy skills doesn't really stand out here.
3rd, the heroes Taskmaster copies are post Civil War Avengers, but the audience have already seen Avengers in their maximum state in Endgame.

@@ijionclifton9148 Kinda did, Taskmaster was pretty unique imo being a recurring mercenary, whose purpose was to train henchman. But in the film Taskmaster is just a watered down Bucky/Winter Soldier. Taskmaster basically became the silent/quiet bad guy who wasn't always bad and serves a more evil dude and also happens to have a strong connection to the main character.

Most of these are a stretch. There are mimicked fighting moves and techniques, yes. But Taskmaster doesn't "copy" powers like flight from Iron Man or swinging from a tether like Spider-Man. She has a HUD in her helmet because it's tech-based, but it's not a mimicked power. Nor is her marksmanship with a bow a mimic of Hawkeye's ability to shoot a bow, it's just a skill.

I actually think her character can align with Tony Masters now that she is free, just have her the more accurate skullmask, voice modulator and personality then her backstory can be disregarded as she can be a semi moral mercenary/trainer.

I watched the black widow today and I want to say that the Taskmaster is not as good as the one in cartoons

My opinion ( probably unpopular), yeah I do prefer Tony masters to this version of taskmaster he had a lot character development, but I think there's potential for redemption judging by how the character may or may not live at the end.

Wait wasn't too the og taskmaster a guy with no teched out suit? He also had photographic reflexes that let him copy abilities unless these required super human strength. At least that's what my comics say. So even though he can throw a shield like cap he can't put the same power behind like cap does or winter soldier. give me og taskmaster anyway over the film version.

I hope they bring back this character and in a better way. This Taskmaster came off to lackluster, bland and appeared to be a one off villain. Taskmaster has always been a relentless nemesis of the Avengers and other heroes who comes back at any particular event
Would definitely benefit from the treatment the Mandarin received, the real Taskmaster being out there somewhere. Perhaps this one was trained by the actual one?

Considering the multiverse is a thing, they can easily get a much better and cooler Taskmaster from another universe
I don't really like Taskmaster as a character (yet) because she didn't really have a personality. They could have done a lot more with her and I hope they change that in future films. BUT the fight scenes with Taskmaster were brilliant! You could clearly see all the different fighting styles which was very fun to watch :D
I am hoping she can be in the thunderbolts, I can imagine Ross hiring her as a trainer.

Some of these feel too inaccurate. For instance, there’s no way anyone could have known about the fight between Vision and Hawkeye and therefore he’s clearly not mimicking that scene (not to mention that it’s just a basic push/punch that could’ve been done by any number of heroes or people).
You made a slight mistake, taskmaster can't copy spiderman because spiderman didn't have a single scene where he was swinging until FFH, and black widow is set between civil war and black panther. But other than that great video

IMO, 1:56 is Wolverine, not Black Panther. The claws might be BP, but the pose is Wolverine's.
Which means that either 1. Taskmaster fought every one of them, 2. Taskmaster watched the videos that the civilians took of them, 3. Taskmaster watched every movie that had those moves in it, therefore breaking the fourth wall. Or 4. Secretly watched them from the shadows.
I’m not sure if those first two Iron Man moments really count since she was literally designed to copy everyone’s moves and also take off her mask cause that’s how it was designed as well, but seriously everything else was AWESOME!!! 🤩 I never noticed how many avengers she copied!

taskmaster in this movie was amazing! i only got one porblem with it. since he was actually a female in this movie it would be better if the suit was more feminine and more thin since it really is just one hell of a plot twist when she takes her helmet of and it's actually the daughter of that crazy dude. so i think that the suit should have been more thin and slick, would have made her moves much better too. she'd be damn fast. or they should've just made him actually male

I thought clint burton/hawkeye was the only model for the taskmaster's bow and arrow scene, but if you look at it, the winter soldier's movements are flickering in some places. 🤔

No matter how good Taskmaster is, he is a minor copy of the Avengers members.

This taskmaster as a threat was great! A worthy menace that if we didn't knew anything about Infinity War and Endgame would make us fear for Nat's life, she brought both Black Widows and the Red Guardian to the edge of the cliff (pun intended). But as a character, she was done dirty even for the standard of this new origin that I actually felt potential on. Hopefully she'll be back in Thunderbolts and live up to Taskmaster's character as much as lived up to the threat level

It would’ve made more sense to have Taskmaster as “the oppressive man” that a powerful female lead would defeat but whatever…
No, makes sense that a pretty much literal ghost from Natasha's past and the physical embodiment of Natasha's guilt being who she had to defeat. I mean she was mentioned all the way back in the Avengers as someone Natasha felt a ton of guilt for "killing". Only makes sense that they would want to pay off that scene with Loki.
This version of task master is a huge disservice to the original ngl, also most of these comparisons are literally just normal fighting techniques anyone can use.

What a wasted villain. Taskmaster is such a cool charismatic character. In the movie "he's" a lifeless drone who exists for 2 reasons. To give shallow motivation and character for Black Widow, who's arc was LONG completed and unnecessary by the time this movie came out, and also so the audience could point at the screen and go "THaT's Teh ThInG thAT otHEr GuY doEs!!" Don't get me started on the weird twist that it was the bomb victim because then they're removing EVERYTHING that made taskmaster cool. He's not a cyborg, or a super soldier, just a guy with photographic memory. Such a shallow villain and what's the deal with all the stunts being done by a dude? I get a fake out but if you wanted a female then go for it, but having all the things we actually CARED about being done by a different actor than the reveal, THEN GETTING NO CREDIT?
